2421  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] RX580 1080Ti - Brand new on: February 18, 2018, 07:19:08 AM
So has anyone got gear from him or is he a fake?

It is highly amusing to me when users are fake/scamming by pretending to have hardware and miners they do not they still charge a higher price than trusted people like philipma1957. Your prices are good, of course, but not the best and your profile comes with all sorts of doubts, suspicions and potential headaches. I do not think anybody would/should be purchasing from you unless there is an escrow with very favorable terms. I would be concerned about counterfeits, faulty equipment, no equipment and more.

His trust ratings seem a bit off as well, another Newbie lent him $100+ and then vouched for him after repayment like crazy. As if he was either, extremely surprised about repayment, or trying to oversell their character/loan.

forum escrow won't work for us.
currently we can only accept PayPal.

This tells me everything that I need to know. You do not operate in Bitcoin, yet you trying to operate on Bitcointalk and claiming to have connections to GPU manufacturers and bitcoin mining hardware. This is nonsense, nobody here uses Paypal and for good reason; although I suppose most of the risk in this scenario would fall on you. I would expect somebody to attempt something annoying through Paypal, many buyers will charge-back.

Forum escrow doesn't work for you? That's laughable. If you are unwilling or unable to use an escrow, then you better be willing to send the unit first (with your reputation) or sell nothing.

You're also welcomed to fly here and meet me in person to check the legitimate of my business, but still, I will need your payment first before I can make the order for you.
It's not only my terms, but the suppliers, so I don't really have much control on this, please understand.

If somebody was going to go through all of the trouble to fly there, why wouldn't we just deal directly with these local manufacturers? It would seem silly to deal with the middleman if we came all of the way just to still pay you (a random person) in advance as opposed to a manufacturing company with more reputation.

There're some members have already made order with me, so you may want to hear their feedback before ordering from us.

I'm very interested in hearing from these users. I have not heard a single user that has received anything from you. Just a few dodgy trust feedback ratings.

However, the demand becoming higher and higher, and the price changes every moment.

Oh, the classic "Buy today, because the scam will be revealed tomorrow" routine. If I'm wrong about you I would be happy to eat my words and throw you an apology. As of right now though, this is screaming nonsense and red-flags galore to me.
2422  Other / Off-topic / Re: sMerit Post-Review on: February 18, 2018, 06:57:27 AM
Sheesh this thread has been extra active lately, and I've been extra lazy. I promise, I will get to all of you, might lock the thread until I manage to make that happen.

The one post about leaving your work for Crypto was a decent read, but it is buried on page 8 or something like that and it doesn't necessarily add anything except an anecdote (which has been exhausted throughout the thread). In other words, it's more just a conversation. One of the posts is the 400th+ reply on a mega-thread so I didn't even bother to read it. The last one is not really worth a merit either; I don't know, maybe I am being conservative because I am running low, but it just seems like you mostly have conversations without adding very much (or anything).

This would have gotten a merit if it attempted to explain anything. If you even tried to explain what the fake metamask looked like, or how to avoid it, how to remove it, or even linked to an official announcement from metamask it would've been more feasible to merit the post. I've already put more thought into your post than you have, so not worth a merit in my opinion.

I've never heard of that book, so I'm in no position to talk about the content within it. Although, one book probably wouldn't suffice for a complete knowledge of Bitcoin. The post about ERC20 and ERC23 I cannot merit, because I'm simply uninformed in that area as well; plus, I don't feel like I stepped away from your post with a thorough understanding of the differences from a technical perspective. The post answering a question about SPV on ETH should probably be merited by the OP; they're a legendary, most likely have merit and asked a specific question. Although, again I don't normally merit this kind of Q & A.

The other guy got tagged by red trust from a DT member already, feel free to give them a negative reputation if you feel it is needed. I won't be giving a merit for your post pointing out their abuse, because this would set an unfortunate precedent, although I encourage you to continue doing this kind of work. It is very helpful.

I have given this post a Merit, because you've clearly put a lot of time, effort and thought into your post. It gives a lot of information, and even speaks about decentralized exchanges, which I did not even believe to be in existence. Very well done.

You've already gotten 10 merit for the first submission, which seems like too much already when it appears that you've missed what they meant by "Bounty". I think they meant tracking someone down, not running a signature campaign. The other post just says "This site looks ugly, clear scam, join my telegram"; not that type of post I believe to be worth merit at this point. Another post talks about using obscure online classes to learn about Bitcoin, rather than just reading the Whitepaper, old e-mails or other simpler means of learning about how Bitcoin truly works. It seems unhelpful and misleading to me. The last just talks about not using Bitcoin for car purchases, without explaining why. No meritable posts here, in my opinion.
2423  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Question to mod of altcoin mining. on: February 18, 2018, 06:25:27 AM
Made it public  as I would like  to allow altcoin mining community to chime in I also do not want to make waves.

I want to have a merit point give away  thread  designed for altcoin miners.

So  my question is  where do I do the the thread?

My guess would be right here  am I correct?

Let me know and I will alter the title of the thread and start it right here.

It would seem to be a personal decision between either the board we are in or this board https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=67.0. Either one would be appropriate in my opinion, as long as you are indeed going to be talking about Alt-coins, and especially mining if it were to stay in this section.

I doubt this would make waves, theymos was very interested in having merits being plentiful in every sub-community and sub-section; the altcoin users are no exception to this. You have my vote and you probably could start it right here in this thread as you've suggested.

I would not make it a simple giveaway, maybe have users submit posts or you can review their overall post history; answer some questions about altcoins or anything that is challenging or would discern meritorious from desperation.
2424  Economy / Services / Re: [FULL] ChipMixer Signature Campaign | 0.00075 BTC/post on: February 18, 2018, 04:22:39 AM
This week's payment has been sent.

Payment received, two weeks have flown by. It's been cool to work with you I didn't realize how much I've posted this past week, I must have way too much time on my hands or something. Better put myself to good use around for something.

LoyceV seems to be bringing my chart to new heights, with bill gator not too far behind:

I don't bring nearly as big of a contribution to the forum as LoyceV, but I am damn impressed with our campaign's merit statistics and they are only becoming more impressive as time is going by. Very telling about the type of participants you've selected, in a good way. Gonna work to pass LoyceV, of course, but hopefully I can do so with a significant contribution of some sort.
2425  Economy / Services / Re: A simple bitcoin Q/A on: February 18, 2018, 03:48:06 AM
~snip~

I would have liked to know why/how the data was able to be compressed or for there to be less data. You are correct though! I encourage you to read a little bit more into it, so you know exactly what is different about Segregated Witness and the old way of doing things. Unless I'm mistaken, it requires less verification checks to confirm transactions with equal precision. I've given you a merit for this. This means do not participate in the next question, give someone else a chance. Wink

I'm going to run my questions a little bit differently, in the hopes that we can bring even more variance in how things go in here; offer more users a chance at the merit through variance.

You can choose to answer at least one of my questions; but if you answer multiple questions you will still be considered for merit even if one of your questions was already answered (as to not punish you for working/researching longer). Sometimes there will be a mandatory question and then an additional two-questions for you to choose one to answer for a total of two answers. For now, just choose Question A or B to answer (feel free to answer both).

Question A)

When a node receives a block, what does it check for to verify the validity of transactions within it?
What are these checked against?

Question B)

Does Bitcoin have an adaquete solution to the Byzantine Generals problem?
Why not or what is it?
2426  Economy / Services / Re: BitWhisk.io ✦ new Bitcoin mixing service ✦ testers evaluations on: February 18, 2018, 12:16:23 AM
It would be also very good for us to know how UI behaves on mobile devices. We did our best in development, however still we are not 100% sure about slider's behaviour on touch screens.

The slider feels phenomenal on iOS devices (tried on a few different devices); I will attempt to check the behavior on Android devices as soon as I get the chance. I'm going to have more questions about the security, mixing process and other things.

First glance though, it looks very clean, except I have one small nitpick about your Fee-Chart, it says 1-4 Bitcoin has 0.45% when it should read 0-4 Bitcoin. Otherwise it would seemingly imply that your minimum amount is BTC1, which obviously is not the case. The site is very responsive on mobile devices and the slider seems to be very good at doing it's job.

The fact that you are handing out BTC in order for users to test is either a very good sign or a very bad sign. I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt, and I hope to be a part of your development further. I am happy to provide feedback, test certain things and try to help you figure out parameters, or problems that arise or are unforeseen.

Either way, keep it up and I'll be watching the development as we go along.
2427  Economy / Services / Re: A simple bitcoin Q/A on: February 17, 2018, 08:45:05 PM
Sorry I am late, but I just wanted to verify that I will also be handing out merits, picking winners, helping pugman dig through the thread in anyway that I can help. We will be formulating questions together, selecting answers and we will be taking suggestions together.

We thought this up in QuestionAuthority's merit upgrade thread, so shout out to them and QA also gave us our first question. Pugman and I discussed this a little bit after that through PM and thought this would be a solid service/thread/discussion.

We're all trying to learn more about Bitcoin, so if you can suggest a question that will make pugman or I think we may give you merit for that as well, or even may include it as one of our questions (of course, you wouldn't be allowed to answer that one and we better not find anyone giving out answers to their own questions!). Anyways, I won't ramble on too much, have at it, hope we all learn a lot, get merits to the people that deserve them and enjoy ourselves while doing it.

P.S. I have to catch up on my sMerit review thread, so my Merit might be a bit scarce for a bit, but all will be rewarded that deserve it and have patience!
2428  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: Selling Bitcointalk account on: February 17, 2018, 04:06:46 PM
i am sorry sir, i have seen posts in this forum people sell bitcointalk accounts thats why i created this thread :/

You don't have to apologize to me. You have been tagged with negative feedback by DT user actmyname; I've dealt with them in the past and they are a very reasonable user. I'm assuming you were trying to sell the account you are currently on. If this is the case, I would suggest that you do not try to sell your account again. There are many users around here that do not like account sales, especially because of things that have happened in the past. There has been rampant abuse through the buying and selling of accounts so many users are on-edge about this kind of thing. They are trying to thwart scams, spam and things of that nature, which seem to correlate with account sales (or at least account farming) pretty decently.

I would say that you have a fairly decent chance of getting this negative trust removed if you remain on the straight and narrow for awhile and don't bother them about it for a good long while. Negative trust will not affect you much, if at all, at this stage in your account. You will not be able to sell the account (most likely) and you will not be able to join any reputable signature campaign. Aside from this, the negative affects would be minimal aside from being barred from asking for a loan (because it would be assumed that you are trying to sell your account through acquiring a loan) and certain members will be uninterested in transacting business with you.

A lot of people would simply say "Create a new account", but I would personally be much more impressed if you stick with this account, learn your lessons and become a better user because of it.
If you were selling your account because you are leaving the forum, then just consider that negative trust as a "Goodbye & Good-riddance!" What happens next is exclusively on your shoulders.
2429  Other / Meta / Re: Lauda removed from DT network via 3 exclusions on: February 17, 2018, 03:50:24 PM
If Nullius is Lauda, and Lauda is ThePharmacist, and OgNasty is Quickseller, and Quickseller is TomatoCage, am I still me? Who's writing this comment?

Quickseller, obviously. There isn't even a Lauda, QS just gets bored and starts drama with themself from time to time; it's what we call split personality with delusions of grandeur. QS is about 80% of the forum. Quickseller is Lauda, OGNasty, ThePharmacist, TomatoCage, Nullius and almost everyone else involved in this thread. All the conspiracies have made it seem that Quickseller is also involved in blackmailing, creating or controlling 50%+ of DT and about 20% of all signature campaign participants.

I've just accepted that this is Quickseller's forum and the rest of us are just pretending; there is only Quickseller and about a dozen other users in total.

DT Member: MoreBloodWine was hacked recently, almost had that alluring 55% of DT under your belt, if it weren't for those meddling kids, eh QS?

I love a good boogieman story.

I realize sarcasm doesn't travel well on the internet, but the forum is way more hilarious if you just assume all of the drama is just Quickseller having an internal struggle externalized through all of these users.
2430  Other / Off-topic / Re: Merit System Upgrade on: February 17, 2018, 03:13:16 PM
You easily qualify. You’re obviously older than the average poster here and more seasoned. You’re all over the forum in every section. I would expect you to learn everything you need to know through research. 20 merit awarded.

You da man. I appreciate you. I'm going to be honest and say that I was very much looking forward to the question, but it's flattering to be pushed past that and be acknowledged for the merit. I'm going to read more of the previous questions/answers so that I can soak up some information. This will help me keep my Post-Review for Merit thread running.

It would be great if you can ask me some questions. I'd just like some Q/A session about bitcoin, which would atleast make me learn some new things.

That's really funny, because I'm interested in the same thing; I want to be challenged. Pugman, since OP only has so much time and there are so many other members that would benefit from their time, maybe you and I should start a thread where we ask members Q & A; this would mean we would have to do extensive research, but it might be fun for those that are actually interested in discussing bitcoin on a much more nuanced and informative level. We would have to think of the questions, maybe QuestionAuthority would throw us a bone now and then, but I'm not sure what our incentive would be to bring people into the thread other than stimulating conversation (which should be enough, anyways).
2431  Other / Off-topic / Re: Merit System Upgrade on: February 17, 2018, 05:45:35 AM
How to ask for thr merit review in this thread?

Is that I need to post links to the quality posts of mine here?Or you will check it by yourself?

You should have the time to read their OP or you really probably don't deserve their time or merit; would you say that's fair?

It is very clear what the rules/expectations are in the OP. I would answer more directly, but all I would do is quote OP entirely.
2432  Other / Off-topic / Re: Merit System Upgrade on: February 17, 2018, 05:29:16 AM
This thread is really cool; I've been doing something similar, but since I am not a source I've been pretty consistently low on merit since the start. It would be pretty cool to take part on your "game show" you've got running here.

I seem to have been spending a lot of my time recently in the Meta section, but I assure you I am very interested in becoming more informed about Bitcoin. In fact I gave dacoinminster a merit after reading through previous replies and doing some research on omni. Hadn't heard of that until reading through the thread, actually.

Your questions are good, the criteria are even better; I like what you're doing and wouldn't mind if it helped me to learn more and continue my similar thread.

2433  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Selling a used 1080ti msi aero and a used asus turbo 1080ti on: February 15, 2018, 05:48:00 PM
I sent you a PM with some questions, I am awaiting a few payments, but as soon as everything is in order I will shoot you a PM and we'll get payment transferred to you. Thanks for working with me, putting up with my questions and hooking me up with a solid price so that I can get my start in mining sooner than later.
2434  Economy / Goods / Re: I stopped using reddit because it's stupid. So I'm selling my 9 month old accoun on: February 15, 2018, 04:44:13 PM
I'm not interested, but to anybody that is interested you can find this at a much cheaper price. It is likely to be the case that either OP did not research the prices of Reddit accounts, is trying to get more than it is worth or is simply reselling accounts they bought for less than half the advertised price.

You can find much better deals for much better accounts. You haven't even mentioned escrow, terms or whether or not it comes with the associated e-mail and other proof of ownership. There are so many things missing and wrong with this thread. Not only do I think nobody would be interested in this even if it was done right, but I know that your lack of effort or care is going to push away the rest of any potential interest.
2435  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Selling a used 1080ti msi aero and a used asus turbo 1080ti on: February 15, 2018, 04:20:52 PM
I ship them insured.

I will help you do an rma if needed. -------  this is the reason I like to sell these cards in the usa.

Which one do you want the msi or the asus for 725?

I have had good experience with MSI in the past, so I would probably want to go with that one. I hope I do not have to do an RMA, but I appreciate you being there to assist with such a thing.

They both hash at about the same rate and are both 11GB is that right?
2436  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Exchanging BTC > ETH & ETH > BTC on: February 15, 2018, 07:36:59 AM
I meant I would be willing to put my funds in an escrow while we are exchanging, in order to assure the customer's safety. I was not attempting to say that I was trying to act as an escrow.

Most exchanges want KYC documents, most exchangers around here have very high minimums and fees. I'm just offering something for the users that feel like they're without a solid option or interested in finding a lower fee (as long as I break even I'm happy).

There are plenty of reasons for users not to want to use a regular exchange.
2437  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Exchanging BTC > ETH & ETH > BTC on: February 15, 2018, 07:24:17 AM
I don't know if this is something there is a need for. I just wanted to share something that I can do fairly easily if anybody else has obstacles in their way. If you have BTC or ETH and would like ETH or BTC I can happily exchange between the two for you.

I'd like to offer a minimal fee service, just enjoy having something to do that might earn me something while helping someone.

We can probably keep it simple and we'll build from suggestions and lessons learned.

Code:
Have : BTC / ETH
Amount :

Want : ETH / BTC

We can discuss publicly, or through PM whichever better suits your needs. Looking forward to see how this goes. I can escrow funds if anybody is uncomfortable (meaning I put my funds in an escrow while we deal, so your funds are secure), I don't have endless funds, but I'm open for negotiation.
2438  Economy / Lending / Re: 1 eth short term loan needed on: February 15, 2018, 06:47:55 AM
One of your only other posts is an attempt to sell exactly the kind of card you are trying to shill off here as collateral. You cannot offer things you would be happy to sell as collateral, and you're not even offering up 50% of what you're asking. Your account is worthless, your collateral is invalid; I have given you negative trust, because this is blatantly malicious in my opinion. Lock this thread or a DT member is going to do the same.

Plus these cards are probably illegally acquired.
2439  Economy / Services / Re: GET PAYED TO TROLL/PROMOTE COINS IN TROLLBOX on: February 15, 2018, 06:30:28 AM
You are interested in paying for false promotion, fake hype or "shill" bumping; is that right?
Do you plan on escrowing any of these funds or are your participants supposed to take you at your word?

There's a solid chance your participants might get tagged by a DT member for taking place in this kind of shady behavior. There is almost no information provided, no proof of funds, no telling how many participants you are searching for and the information you have provided looks like it is a sketchy operation even if you provided the aforementioned.

This is either dead in the water, or a pump and dump that is about to go horribly wrong. I really would advise against this, everyone involved is going to be disappointed from what I can tell.
2440  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Selling a used 1080ti msi aero and a used asus turbo 1080ti on: February 15, 2018, 05:45:43 AM
We've been talking back and forth in PMs about my set-up, my plans and what I should be looking into buying. Now you're selling exactly the card that I'm looking to add into my rig, so I'm thinking we could work something out for a 1080ti.

I'm working on getting the funds together, but I'm wondering if you would accept $725 for 1 of them to help me get started on mining? I'm also wondering how much use these cards have seen?

Is there any warranty (transferable or otherwise) on these cards, or do you mean postal insurance?
