1501  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If you had to HODL only 1 cryptocurrency for 10 years how should you choose? on: October 05, 2018, 06:17:52 AM
I choose Btc. King is king always I think.

i'm sorry but that is nonsense. and this statement was started from altcoin bag holders who needed a reason to explain why their shitcoin is failing while bitcoin remains strong and still rising.
bitcoin isn't strong and a good cryptocurrency to go 100% in because it is king, first, ... these are all nonsense. bitcoin is strong because it is good. it has certain characteristics such as being decentralized, global, censorship resistant, secure, thoroughly tested, .... and a lot more and they make it good in the long run! and on top of that bitcoin is useful as a currency and is actually used.

and the 7 factors that the link mentions are all correct but when it comes to investing in an altcoin none of them matter. what matters is how real the project is and whether it is useful. for example you can fork bitcoin's code and start a new altcoin which is 100% like bitcoin and has no difference whatsoever. that altcoin satisfies all the 7 factors in that link but it will be a shitcoin doomed to fail and buying it will be a dumb decision.
why? because it is useless. and that is the problem with >90% of the altcoins.
1502  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Manipulated by Cryptocurrency Trading Bots: WSJ on: October 05, 2018, 06:04:48 AM
Yeah ...FUD

When somebody was trying to point out in December 2013 that MtGox was using bots to hike the price he was labeled in god knows how many ways.
Then when Mark Frappucino admitted the existence of Willy everybody was like...and so what???

People try to defend obvious manipulation when it works in their interest but immediately scream FUD when it does the opposite.

it is one thing to analyze a situation and logically make a conclusion with some proof that something is happening like manipulation. but it is another thing to create an article with no proof or logic and make a conclusion nonetheless.
not to mention that Mt Gox case was "fake orders" and this case is "real orders" that the article is trying to argue are pushing the market in a certain direction.

Quote
As for the article, I'm more curious about another fact.
Is there any daytrader out there who is doing trades manually???
as i said above using a bot is first for automation which is what's wrong with the title that was chosen because it has nothing to do with "trading bots". it should have called it "automatic order placement and removal" Cheesy
1503  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MTGOX2 - KEEP YOU`R BITCOIN SAVE on: October 05, 2018, 05:44:53 AM
Have no auditors who can prove all this virtual Bitcoin trading on exchanger backed by moneyfull private keys.
and you also have no proof that they aren't backed by anything. so you are just trolling.

Quote
When people start to windraw Bitcoins from exchangers MTGOX2 will happen.
nonsense. MtGox went down for many different reasons not because people withdrew. you need to check the history before making statements like this.

So better keep your Bitcoins outside echangers for safety.

off topic here despite being true.
1504  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If altcoins don’t takeoff again before Nov, should investors sell & stay away? on: October 03, 2018, 05:52:21 AM
in my experience if you want to be successful in the altcoin market you need to be a trader not an investor which means you should always be active or out of the market. you can never buy an altcoin and hold it because you will definitely lose money in the long run when the dumps start.

but as a trader you can gain experience with every trade and every minute that you spend in the market and with it improve yourself and your profitability. in the end you will be capable of earning money consistently with every trade even when the market is all in red and people are crying about it you will be able to go where the profit is and make good profit on your investment.
1505  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The PETRO Danger or profitable? on: October 03, 2018, 05:44:34 AM
i think it is too soon to talk about Petro. it is basically the first of its kind. don't confuse the fact that it ran an ICO with regular ICOs, it is a state backed token aka a government coin. it takes time to see which way it is going to go and what will happen to it in the future. and i believe a lot of countries are watching it closely.
i said this before when the news first came out, Petro is like an experiment in the world and Venezuela is the first to perform this experiment. eventually other countries will do the same while fixing the mistakes that Venezuela made. there are a couple of countries that have already started their cryptocurrency project.
1506  Economy / Speculation / Re: Your opinion about the decline in BTC prices in 2018 on: October 03, 2018, 05:33:59 AM
So demands is less today compare to last year, resulting to a dramatic decline of the price up to today. But if you're going to compare it though to altcoins, they have suffered worst than bitcoin, just saying.

i wouldn't say "demand" is less today compared to last year because what we had last year in the end (i am talking about the price rise from $10k to $20k) was not exactly "demand" it was more like an "excited demand" which was people who were pouring in with a lot of money while the "sell" order books were rather empty since it was the uncharted waters above $10k and everyone was mostly watching where it ends and had no intentions of selling too soon.
1507  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stop comparing ETH with BTC!!!!!!!! on: October 03, 2018, 05:24:56 AM
for many years now whenever newbie advertisers want to hype up their altcoin they start comparing it with bitcoin and they usually  do it by saying "it is better than bitcoin". in case of ETH this has always been a point of advertisement for them trying to fool newbies into thinking that they have struck gold with ETH if they buy it. they even convinced them to pay high amounts of money for it at high prices telling them how it will surpass bitcoin price!!!
and again for years we have seen the pumps of altcoins that do this type of advertisement and the following dump that bankrupts all those newbies who listened to the ads...
1508  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Manipulated by Cryptocurrency Trading Bots: WSJ on: October 03, 2018, 05:17:13 AM
the first thing the trading bots do is automation, it is not automatically manipulation when you use a trading bot! you still have to have a lot of money and also you have to go with the flow of the market to be able to push it in a certain direction.
for example if you try to manipulate the price to go either down or up you will lose a lot of money because the market will go against you and crush you under its load.
1509  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XRP can be used for real payments! on: October 02, 2018, 08:29:37 AM
you can use PayPal and VISA and credit cards and banks and ... for real payments too and it is much easier to trust the companies behind those instead of trusting the Ripple Foundation. and in their essence these are all the same centralization but with different risks and different level of acceptance. the first bunch are accepted in a lot of places around the world and since their companies are transparent it is easier to trust them but the XRP doesn't have that transparency in their company and they have done some shady scamy stuff in the past enough not to trust them.

The whole process takes a couple of days,
Why does it take a few days instead of a few hours? And for something like that to work, XRP needs to be in many more countries and exchanges than the current ones. I do not understand the process very well, it seems like a good idea, but it still needs a few years to become a killer feature.
It looks like they are still preparing the system and try to do the more audit to the system of ripple. in fact that so many people have been waiting for that to go live. I believe there will be another huge news to buy more coin. As far as i know that if there will be a news and it could become a signal for these holders to dump their coin.
Yes, I also don't care about discussing their processes and technology. But what's interesting to me is that this news will be a signal and trigger to start a pump and not to be missed.

if you look at the charts and also the news from a while ago you can clearly see that what OP posted is not exactly news! it is pretty old. the "going live" happened now but the news of it came out before and they already pumped it and milked the news as much as they could. in short price went from around 6000 to 12000 satoshi and is dumping back down now.
there is no more room left for a new pump this soon. specially since XRP is already considered overpriced.
1511  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do we need so many stablecoins? on: October 02, 2018, 08:08:14 AM
Because only thanks to them cryptomarket will be increasing and going up. Other coins have more chances to die in the future while stable coins are in the top of profitable coins.

haha, maybe you need to read the name again: it is called stable coin! which means there is no profit in it since its price is always stable. for example USDT is always $1 or at least it is supposed to be always worth $1.

and you are wrong about the increase being because of stable coins! that  doesn't even make sense. there is no relationship between an stable coin and price rise of any cryptocurrency.
1512  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wordfromsatoshi.com says Satoshi is announcing something on 7 October on: October 02, 2018, 08:01:37 AM
if the "real" satoshi wanted to make any kind of announcement then he wouldn't have advertised it prior to the announcement and most definitely wouldn't create a website called "wordofsatoshi" to announce it on! LOL.
i hope you realize that whenever you post about bullshit like this on a forum you are in fact advertising it unknowingly...
1513  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MERITS OF BLOCKCHAIN. on: October 02, 2018, 07:53:33 AM
A well-designed blockchain doesn’t just cut out intermediaries;
i don't know if you are copying this from somewhere that makes it out of context or what but you can not generalize this. "blockchain" is simply a chain of blocks. it can have that "intermediaries" that you are talking about and be centralized even or it can be decentralized and cut them out and be a distributed ledger among nodes.

this has always sounded like a cool idea but every time i think about it, that doesn't really sound like the best option compared to alternative form of having a database!
1514  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When hard fork arrived, what should I be prepared? on: October 01, 2018, 06:20:12 AM
regarding hard forks there are two concerns:
1. price concern. this is due to the fact that hard forks are risky and can cause irreparable damage to a decentralized system. the simplest one is a network split, loss of funds,... so as an investor you should worry about the possible dumps that happen because of the fork fear. for example you can see the drop that happened last year because of the fear of bitcoin split due to hard fork proposals and other network splitting risks such as UASF.

2. apart from price, you always risk splitting the network. right now we have a lot of miners who are mining ETH. we also have ASICs being bought by a lot of miners starting their mining operation. they aren't going to let a fork brick their ASIC investments even with difficulty bomb we may see a 3 way split with 1 PoS ETH with only ethereum foundation on it, another legacy ETH with people not wanting to fork and another new PoW fork removing the difficulty bomb (defusing it Cheesy).
1515  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Here is how i survive in red market on: October 01, 2018, 06:10:06 AM
when the dumps come you should not be trying to go against the market. it would be like trying to swim against the river near a waterfall! you can try but eventually the water will carry you down the waterfall and crush you at the bottom.
what you should do is either staying away or trying to go with the flow and making profit from it by doing thins like shorting or buying the dips and selling the dead cat bounces.

things such as #4. staking and masternode are also the same thing as going against the market flow. specially in coins that are giving you a lot of reward for staking,... because they have a lot more supply which will be dumped and their crashes are usually much bigger.
1516  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Day trading, the very beginning on: October 01, 2018, 06:02:02 AM
Make sure to include social signals in your trading. What I mean by social signals is when the founders or other influencers post about your coins, take that into consideration and act FAST. Never be greedy when it comes to trading on social signals.

Make sure you're following all of the coin's social media. You can profit massively this way!

this is good but not on its own because these "social signals" you are talking about are most of the times fake hype that will also fail to succeed in pumping. of course you shouldn't confuse them with the nonsense random people post.
for example a coin developer may hype his coin and release a bunch of stuff but it may not lead to any kind of rise. because the market is going the other way for instance or the coin was just pumped.
in short you should only take then as a small possibility that may or may not happen. then you analyze the market and charts to see how possible it is based on the ongoing trend.
1517  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Futures on: October 01, 2018, 05:49:45 AM
The blows against futures and ETFs have been present for the last couple of months, and amazingly, bitcoin and the economy kept a sturdy stance against it. Right now, the Bakkt Futures might not be accepted by the SEC, and knowing how the market reacts to such news, this will just be another short-term blow without any severe damage for the cryptocurrency market. It will bleed, yes, but not profusely.
The fact that bitcoin and the crypto economy has been doing well even with all the delays in the ETF approval shows candidly that it does not really have any serious or big effect on bitcoin and the cryptocurrency space in general.

Even if the market react to the news as you said, the price would have just ended up being manipulated anyway to please the whales in the way they want the market to move and as long as the market is still speculative, I really would pay much attention to price actions, than pay attention to some ETF news. Sure, in the long run, the whole ETF thing would usher in growth since more money will likely flow into the space.

depending on the type of the ETF there may not even be any money at all that comes in the market. there are certain ETFs that do not have to have any backing assets, i forgot what they are called! but the company does not own a single satoshi while selling ETFs.
the other form which has to have bitcoin to sell ETF is only allowed to have a fixed amount not a changing one. and they buy it once and then sell ETF based on that amount. so the money "flows in" once.
1518  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: An open letter to the community, from the developers of Breadwallet on: October 01, 2018, 05:40:39 AM
4. segwit bech32 is also an identifier change done purely to allow LN to recognise litecoin from bitcoin better(and other coins that will join LN)

this doesn't sound right.
at human readable level:
1. single key (P2PKH) litecoin: L bitcoin:1
2. multi key (P2SH) litecoin: M bitcoin: 3
so the difference was already there, we didn't need a new address format.

at blockchain/code level they are the same script!

bech32 didn't change anything. at human readable level there is the same difference as before and at code level they are still the same script as before too, which you can not differentiate.
they are both 0014<hash160> and you won't be able to say if it is a LTC Bech32 or BTC Bech32
1519  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto for travelling on: September 30, 2018, 06:44:09 AM
to do that you will need adoption of the said cryptocurrency so that you can walk around and spend your cryptocurrency as you are spending fiat now. unfortunately altcoins do not have such adoptions and will not have anything like that in the foreseeable future because of their problems. but bitcoin already has some adoption, more in some countries. for example you can already do most of the things you said if you go to Japan since they have adopted bitcoin as a legal way of payment and many shops are already accepting it as payment but it is still pretty small scale adoption though.
1520  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Crypto market slump finally over? on: September 30, 2018, 06:35:02 AM
unless that pumps begin in bigger altcoins you can not call it over because we have had multiple cases like this so far when the prices get dumped a lot then the market calms down for a while and we even see rises in the big altcoins where they even go up 10-20% but then the dumps begin again which reveals that whales were only waiting for the recovery to take place and the buy-orders fill the orderbooks before they can dump again.

of course the small altcoins have their own trends. their pump started months ago and has been happening ever since.
