1421  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If the banksters and governments held 90% of the Bitcoin supply, what now? on: October 27, 2018, 06:43:57 AM
No one made a compelling debate.

If 90% of Bitcoin is controlled by a few centralized and powerful groups, what will happen? Will it cease to be a permissionless system?

maybe you should share with us why you think controlling a certain percentage of the supply will have any effect on bitcoin itself as a permissionless currency?

from what i see, you can't do anything with supply other than affecting the price. and that has nothing to do with the "permissionless" feature! as it was pointed out, bitcoin is not proof of stake.
additionally it is impossible to control 90% of the supply because it is already too late to do that since the distribution of 80% of the total supply has already happened in a fair way.
1422  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will there be good news welcoming the end of 2018? on: October 26, 2018, 07:34:28 AM
the dump itself was a good news!

when a pump altcoin gets dumped it shows that it is getting ready to become healthy again so that it can stat getting new pumps. otherwise if the price of that altcoin goes up and stays up then there is no way it can get pumped again and as a result there will be no profit anymore.
so what happens is that the money exists and that is the dump and when prices came back down to the bottom and below it, that is when you can say the coin is ready for new pumps.
1423  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Declining DOGE prices on: October 26, 2018, 06:49:56 AM
i don't understand why some people are always surprised and confused about altcoin price changes!

things have been the same for years. these trends are nothing new. maybe from time to time the size of a trend changes and it becomes bigger or smaller but the trend itself is the same: a big pump rise followed by the big dump drop back down.
and coins such as Doge that have unlimited supply (no cap) will always be declining overall. so their long term charts will be a slope with a negative slope.
1424  Economy / Speculation / Re: Such Stability! on: October 26, 2018, 06:23:03 AM
this is getting more and more similar to 2015 and $220 price every day that passes Cheesy

i am excited to see what will happen next. mostly i am expecting some sort of drama to break out first by FUDsters trying to do one final desperate push down before the price is let go so that it jumps up and breaks a couple of resistances all in one go.
it seems like history repeats itself after all.
1425  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DAG or Blockchain? on: October 26, 2018, 06:13:27 AM
everything has both advantages and disadvantages, so i don't think you can say DAG is better or worse than blockchain. unfortunately so far we haven't seen it in real action. there are a couple of coins using it but the usage isn't that widespread like bitcoin so we can not analyze it in action. (IOTA for example)
in any case i think DAG is a pretty cool technology and it has a good potential.
1426  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Future Contracts To Be Launched By Parent Company Of The New York Stock on: October 26, 2018, 06:05:06 AM
Do you think this will have a similar impact on the market as it did last year?

no because last year things were hyped up a lot but this year we don't have the same nonsense hype. additionally people know that Futures contracts are more harmful to the market than they are useful to help in any kind of price increase.
1427  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coin is the best to buy for a newbite? on: October 25, 2018, 09:56:58 AM
for a newbie nothing is ever good because he wouldn't know what to do with them. even the most secure coin can be bad in the hands of a newbie. for instance you first have to learn how to use a bitcoin wallet before starting to buy bitcoin!
and then as an investor i would always suggest that you stick to bitcoin only because of the deep manipulation that exists in the altcoin market.
1428  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Fear of ethereum on: October 25, 2018, 09:14:42 AM
what you call "bull run for the market" is nothing more than a pump. and when it comes to pump and dumps nothing matters! in fact the coin can be dead for all we know and still get pumped. i can give you exampels of coins that are not even mined anymore but they are being traded on some exchanges and are being pumped and dumped.

the fear of future of ethereum has nothing to do with its pumps. we knew that it has a lot of flaws and a lot of issues for a very long time but as you can see it still got pumped. what this fear is telling you is that in the long run a coin like this is not going to survive and eventually its pumps will first become smaller and eventually there will be no pump and finally death awaits it.
1429  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Cryptocurrencies rise or fall on: October 25, 2018, 09:01:42 AM
at this point it is not possible to predict because although there has been a lot of dumps and many altcoins have reached a very low price (such as 90% of their pumped ATH) but historically that has never meant the end of the dumps and there is still a good chance for most of them to go even lower.

in any case as i always say you can't really talk about the whole market like this! because it does not work like that. for instance what you cal reversal has been happening for the past 10 months among different altcoins as they got dumped fast and then reversed back into pumping.
1430  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: which traders to sell your BTC IF BTC prices spike again ?... on: October 25, 2018, 07:19:50 AM
price spike is not going to happen suddenly. it will be the last step of a long rally or series of rises.
for example take the last rise. it basically started at $200 3 years ago (2015). it slowly went up to higher values that took about 3 years until 3/4 of 2017 then the "spike" that you have in mind occurred. and that is where you want to sell not the previous rises because that last big FOMO buy leads to a bubble and an unrealistic price (that was $20k) and similarly you want to buy bitcoin when it is underpriced at an unrealistic lower price  (that is $6k).

something tells me this can happen again and most traders if not all will refuse to buy our BTC If BTC spikes again !...

do you even know how price rise and "spike" works?!!
in a market there is a buy and a sell. when there is more buys the price goes up. in other words price doesn't magically go up! it is people buying the asset that causes the rise!

the thing you quoted is just talking about shittiness of exchanges that have weak servers that can not handle large requests. it was NOT a DDoS attack but simply a surge of demand. Coinbase for instance reported 1 million new users registration in a couple of days during that spike time.
1431  Economy / Speculation / Re: Signs That The Bitcoin Bulls Are Ready To Break Out on: October 25, 2018, 07:12:54 AM
Well, this year has been a "hell of a year" for us. Coins that came into the system this year have suffered the bad of fate but in all things we should be gkad we're still hanging around. As for predictions, if only the bottom everyone is talking about is true, then we'll be good to go in no time.

if by "coins" you are talking about all the altcoins, then it is not a new thing and this year was not an exception. it was actually repetition of all the history of altcoins. new shitcoins created every year. most of them only live a couple of months on average before dying. and last year we had a new phenomenon called ICO and it introduced hundreds of tokens which mostly started their dumps this year and many of them are already dead.

the "bottom" everyone is talking about is bitcoin bottom not generally. and for many altcoins this bottom is 0 not the current price as we have been proven multiple times so far with dumps that keep happening.
1432  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's Energy Consumption! on: October 25, 2018, 07:04:07 AM
a bitcoin miner is not an energy producer or an energy company! a bitcoin miner is simply a customer of energy companies and is using what they are providing them. if they burn fossil fuel and give the produced energy to bitcoin miners you can't say bitcoin isn't green. you should say energy companies aren't green!

what is the solution? go to these energy companies and petition why they are not using cleaner forms of energy. this is not something that bitcoin can solve!
1433  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Unocoin co-founder arrested after opening first cryptocurrency ATM in India on: October 25, 2018, 06:57:30 AM
So what law did they say he broke? They may have a case if the accused actually used crypto for financial transactions, but setting up an ATM shouldn't really break any existing laws.

Really though, what the hell is India doing? The way they're acting, it seems like they're stopping just short of implementing an outright ban.

Operating Bitcoin ATM Kiosk is Illegal according to the RBI.

In April, the central bank prohibited banks from working with cryptocurrency exchanges. But over here the ATM was not using any banks as a gateway.
This is clearly not a violation.

The reason stated is
"They did not have any license from RBI, Sebi or any other agency to carry out the bitcoin transaction, says police".

Which is utter non-sense if you ask me.

this doesn't really sound like nonsense to me to be honest! and i believe anywhere else in the world things are the same as this case which means you can not install an ATM machine in public without acquiring a license first for that kind of operation.
using bitcoin is only like the cherry on top to create a more dramatic atmosphere otherwise they would have arrested him if this was a regular ATM too.
1434  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The energy that drives patience on: October 24, 2018, 07:43:00 AM
the only thing that has been driving patience so far for altcoin bag holders has been stupidity in my experience because in a highly volatile, highly manipulated market where the coins are getting pumped and dumped instead of having natural growths, when you bag hold an altcoin that means you are bag holding a highly volatile object that can explode in your face at any moment and that explosion only depends on a chance. you may get lucky and it doesn't explode while you are bag holding but most of the times it happens and you lose half your face because of it. you can ask hundreds of bag holders that lost from 60% to 90% of what they invested in altcoins and "had patient".
1435  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is governance Killing Blockchain ? on: October 24, 2018, 07:32:22 AM
everybody wants money and unfortunately cryptocurrencies have been providing that to a lot of people in a very easy manner. all the things you mentioned here such as Roger Ver's take over attempt, Ethereum fork,... are to make more money. they even created coins to make money, tokens such as Ethereum was made to make certain people millionaires overnight, fork coins like bitcoin cash was created to "create" money out of thin air in an instant.

this is inevitable. the only thing that users can do is find the decentralization that a currency like bitcoin has and then stick to it and stay unmoved no matter what is thrown at them. and that has been what we have been doing so far with bitcoin.
1436  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Treat trading as your job on: October 24, 2018, 07:22:21 AM
people around here tend to jump in, head first, and expect to make profit right away. i think part of this wrong way of thinking comes from the fact that some times like last year because of the pumps, no matter what you bought you could make profit and that gave some people false confidence in their abilities.
otherwise anybody who started trading this year knows well enough that it is a hard thing that you can not be successful in unless you spend a lot of time familiarizing yourself with things that are going on in the market such as the altcoin pump and dumps.
1437  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bakkt launching on Dec12, is it will start a bull run? on: October 24, 2018, 07:07:21 AM
There might be a speculative increase at launch, just because traders get excited and buy up the market, but nothing more than that.

that may be more than enough to start the bull run!

at this point price is not down because of lack of demand! there is a huge demand for bitcoin which is increasing every day. the problem is that this demand is scared of the market at the moment so it is waiting on the sideline for some signal before they can jump in. they have been burned so many times this year that they don't want to be burnt again.
(this is also why some people consider this price under the real value aka underpriced)

a rise, for whatever foolish reason can bring back that confidence specially if we end up breaking some sort of resistance.
1438  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin become global currency in next 20 years? on: October 24, 2018, 06:57:29 AM
bitcoin has always been a global currency! that is not something it becomes. bitcoin is designed to be a global (boarderless) currency and has been exactly that from the start. all the drama about the price and the rest are the things people introduced for themselves afterwards and they have nothing to do with bitcoin itself because you can choose to use a currency as something you HODL, you can even HODL US dollar but that doesn't make dollar less of a currency.

it is interesting that you are doing it yourself too by contradicting your own statements. your title says "currency" but then all you focus on is the price! and that is one of the reasons why the mass adoption has not yet happened. because people talk one way and act another. Smiley
1439  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin & Electricity: Threat or Blessings on: October 24, 2018, 06:48:19 AM
actually the irony is that a lot more energy is wasted each time someone brings up this topic that has been discussed a million times and is wrong. and it is funny that the theme of it is always the same but the discussion is seemingly different. basically you all are ignoring the unimaginably huge utility that bitcoin is offering as a decentralized currency. you with your statements such as "bitcoin is taking away energy that could be used elsewhere" as if the energy production is capped and bitcoin is taking away from it! and others with similar statements.
1440  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will you send bitcoins to Satoshi, if you know his Bitcoin address? on: October 24, 2018, 06:41:13 AM
it is a bad scenario because in reality that is not what happens.
in reality we have a lot of lazy copy pasters who call themselves developers and demand payment because they created some shitcoin. i have even heard in multiple cases that they use Satoshi as a way to justify their own actions. they even called bitcoin premined!!! and compared it with their own premine to justify that by saying Satoshi premined bitcoin so they also did the same.
