1461  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Next Bitcoin Bull Run Will See Crypto Market Rise ‘10x’: Pantera CIO on: October 17, 2018, 05:26:58 AM
I'm not surprised on how they shill about bitcoin because obviously they have huge investments and its taking a beating because the market suddenly plummeted  and there's no bull run in the horizon. So they started to influenced investors to put there cash by saying that bitcoin will go x10 and so on. But if you look closely, intelligent or even casual investors know that there's no bull run to happen at least not this year.

he is shilling his company and advertising it by talking about bitcoin and his company is not really invested in bitcoin. it is mostly invested in altcoins and ICO and that is why it is taking a big beating and losing a lot of money which makes them desperate for a pump to come to the altcoins.
as for bitcoin bull run, it is on the horizon and it is coming. in fact this price right now is the start of the bull run since every one has always started with an accumulation phase when price stays stable.
1462  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: will litecoin hit 60 dollars before the end of this year. on: October 16, 2018, 07:07:41 AM
I believe Litecoin can reach $60 this year. Litecoin performance is very stable these days. I believe that over time, its price will gradually increase as the market recovers.

it is because bitcoin price is stable and litecoin has always followed bitcoin. so if bitcoin rises, litecoin will also follow it and rise up and if not then it will stay stable like bitcoin is.
also you should not forget that a small rise like from $57 to $60 which is less than 5% rise is not something you really talk about because it is more like the fluctuations that are normally happening without needing any specific reasons.
1463  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Would you invest in a new crypto? on: October 16, 2018, 06:51:52 AM
I only invested in bitcoin because a friend convinced me to. If there is a new cryptocurrency, what are the parameters / requirements that would make you decide to invest on it?

in one word pumpability.

i have given up on finding a good currency a while ago because i saw the real face of altcoins and i didn't like what i saw. so now i only get involved with altcoins realistically instead of naively and with false hopes.
this means a new coin is only a viable investment for me as long as it can be pumped more. in this case some altcoins that are new have experienced pumping teams behind them that will pump it effectively and big which means a huge profit in short term. of course you should also be careful not to get dumped on by the same pumping team because that is what comes next.
1464  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How i kept hand in altcoins and improve my investment ? on: October 16, 2018, 06:43:00 AM
you always maintain a position in all these projects you believe in. That way if they really shoot up like crazy you will still have a hand in it.

this is a bit contradictory in my opinion. because a "project" in this context means a cryptocurrency and believing in it means you believe that this cryptocurrency will reach mass adoption and be used in the world more. for example when you believe in bitcoin it means you believe that bitcoin will reach mass adoption and because of its scarce supply and the huge demand that will come, the price will be a lot higher than this.
in this case talking about "shoot up" in short term is crazy in my opinion. you invest in such things for long term not for short term fluctuations and "shoot ups". and the sad part is that when it comes to altcoins none of them have that long term potential.

but i agree with the other part of your comment and that is why i do too. i invest in coins that are rising (pumping) and take the profit and bring it back to what i believe in (which is bitcoin) and store for long term.
1465  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can we stop Bitcoin's negative publicity?-Rebranding. on: October 16, 2018, 06:35:37 AM
"Rebranding" is what a failed company (in this case failed altcoin) does in order to start fresh and fool people by trying to hide the dirty history it had. bitcoin does not have such dirty history and does not need to hide anything so there is no need for "rebranding".

in fact all these negative FUDs that we keep hearing about bitcoin is a very good thing because history proves how many idiots have been around and how many big names were among those idiots. you can check bitcoin obituaries https://99bitcoins.com/bitcoinobituaries/ to see all of them and counting and bitcoin still goes on stronger than before.
1466  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 99 Percent of Cryptocurrencies are Worth Zero? What the hell? on: October 16, 2018, 06:26:08 AM
have you ever checked the shitshow known as altcoins? if you haven't then go ahead and do it. and i mean checking the projects themselves not just looking at social media and what the shills are saying. if you do that you can see that a great number of them (maybe above 80%) are pure copycoins. this means they simply copy the open source code from another project and only change the name and possibly some small arbitrary changes. such projects don't have any value.

the rest (the 10% for example) are still copy coins which made bigger changes (like the bitcoin forks that changed block size, block time, algorithm,...) but they introduced flaws and reduced the security of the project. .... meaning 0 value.

the remaining coins (10% if i am generous) have some original ideas and designs but they are still not good enough to be used on a large scale.

so with a quick search you can see that 99% is not really that unrealistic since the situation with altcoins is really terrible.
1467  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2014 vs 2018 on: October 16, 2018, 06:19:15 AM
when you make a comparison you shouldn't bend the facts and only use 2 or 3 aspects that you like and relate to your false conclusion. and that is why everyone is disagreeing with you.
in the end it doesn't matter though. people like you have been doing the same thing for as long as bitcoin has been around. you can find similar topics like your if you go to high pages in this board (pages 300-400). they basically are saying the same thing when price was $10 too.

Wtf are you talking about? it's like you and others just gloss over what I'm saying without taking any time to understand and just write it off as general fudding.
The kyc requirements of exchanges today and the banning of US citizens from more and more exchanges is totally unprecidented. Trading/speculation has been bitcoins biggest use case by far and it is slowly being taken away, and this is a huge difference from this last halving pump from the ones before it. My question is what effect this will have going forward?
Most here are simply not mentally capable of understanding what I'm even talking about and are in their own little world expecting $20k by the end of this year. This is an echo chamber.

no my friend, you are incapable of creating a proper intelligible comment!
you start by calling bitcoin rise for the past 6 years a "halving pump" and that alone reduces your comment's value and shows your lack of understanding about bitcoin and its value.
and then you follow it up with false assumptions of your own without any basis. @figment explained this well enough above this comment.
1468  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do not invest in ICO anymore. Do not Feed scammers on: October 15, 2018, 06:36:30 AM
this will also eventually stop. as you can see it is being slowed down drastically as the scams became severe and clear to everyone. but like always there will be gamblers who will ignore all the warnings and still participate in the scams letting these ICO scammers take their money and run away with it. but as they also lose money they will also stop at some point and we can finally close this dark chapter in cryptocurrency market and put an stop to the ICO nonsense.

although you shouldn't be happy about it because that means a new method of scamming will emerge soon after ICOs died!
1469  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think the amount of Trading Pairs on an Exchange matters? on: October 15, 2018, 06:27:17 AM
it can be one of the many factors that you consider when choosing an exchange for trading purposes. although so few people choose good trading strategies that requires having access to wide range of cryptocurrencies. most people tend to buy some top altcoins and bag hold them to death even though they lose nearly all their investment.

but if your trading strategy is the expert kind and you go where the profit is then having access to as many altcoins as possible in one place is favorable because you want to be able to go to where the pumps are happening and it is best if the coin that is being pumped is in the same place so you don't have to transfer funds between exchanges to make profit from that pump and come back.

1471  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin market doesn't fall, is it growing steadily!? (thoughts and analysis) on: October 15, 2018, 06:01:08 AM
Maybe it will, maybe not. Now no one can't say anything. Perhaps if price has had an impact on people in the past year and believe that it will happen again this year, we can see it again. But, it'll be just a psychological increase.

what you call "psychological increase" is only a small part of the market and the rises that happen overall. and this is only visible the most near the end of each massive rise. for instance you can say most part of the rise from $10k to $20k was a "psychological increase" but that is not all there is. and more importantly if you believe in this type of behavior of price then you should also believe in "psychological decrease" which is what we have been seeing in the past couple of months with the drop from $9k to $6k which created an under-priced situation.
1472  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Professors & Economists (Noriel, Weaver,...) shooting agains BTC! on: October 15, 2018, 05:44:11 AM
"First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win."

we are now somewhere between then stages of being "laughed at" and "some fights". the more they fight it, the closer we get to the win.
the interesting part is that no matter how much they fight it, the bitcoin adoption is continuing to happen every day and the growth will come with it.
1473  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: AARP Tells Retirees that Bitcoin is Mainly Used by ‘Bunch of Criminals’ on: October 15, 2018, 05:36:41 AM
I will appreciate if someone from USA can register an account and post a comment against this statement. I tried to register an account but couldn't do it as my ip is not from USA.

nobody cares bro. it is becoming a common thing these days that some random people talk shit about bitcoin and then places like AARP posts their shit because it is a neat looking slide show that they can share on their website for their visitors to see and read about "investment". the author is practically calling millions of bitcoin users including big companies such as Microsoft that are accepting bitcoin payments as "a bunch of criminals".
1474  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SIBOS 2018: Ripple is attending SWIFT big event, XRP Boost again? on: October 12, 2018, 08:31:23 AM
just because you see the name of some altcoin in some event it doesn't mean it is going to get pumped.

it is hard to say in this case because XRP was recently pumped and now the pumpers are exiting instead and the money is already made from the re cent hype and resulting pump of it. historically you never see pumps happen this fast. each pump needs some time for correction and dumping before the next phase can begin.
1475  Economy / Speculation / Re: This is the big crash of 2018. on: October 12, 2018, 08:21:17 AM
Hold on, this is going to be a deep dive! With little support and a broken protocol.
See you guys at 3000.

ah, glad to see you back kwukduck! Tongue

the bear case is definitely possible, but i wouldn't get too excited until we at least see new lows that don't immediately get wicked up. there's been zero follow-through on that initial red candle last night. as far as i'm concerned, we're still stuck in the triangle.

He is trolling. But Kwukduck has a penchant for giving buy signals because, 9 out of 10, the opposite happens after his bearish announcements. Check all his posts in his original account. You can see it there.

Kwukduck, what happened to your original account?

Kwukduck is still around but OP is most probably a troll trying to mimic his behavior. and what Kwukduck did was 100% accurate. every single comment of his case near the bottom and near the end of the bear move or end of each correction without an exception. obviously it wasn't exactly at the bottom but very close which is why people said every time he makes a post price is about to reverse and go up. which may be the reason for him to stop showing his face with his main account because everyone knew what he was doing so it didn't work anymore.

1477  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 25,000 German Online Stores in Germany to Begin Accepting Crypto in 2019 on: October 12, 2018, 07:40:55 AM
It kind of sucks that people have to use payment processors to spend Bitcoin when that's exactly what it wants to prevent, but I suppose it's a good short-term measure. I just hope these existing options don't dissuade merchants from accepting Bitcoin directly in the future.

i agree but that is only half of the process (accepting payment) otherwise the other half which is spending bitcoin doesn't change. so we can say it is 50% good since people would still be directly paying bitcoin with their own wallets without needing any third parties for sending or holding bitcoin.  the merchant is only relying on a third party to accept the payment.
1478  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What you know, will determine how far you will go on: October 11, 2018, 01:23:52 PM
Thomas Huxley once said, "Try to learn something about everything and everything about something".

this quote only works for the old ages while the whole knowledge in the world was still small and the scientific discoveries weren't happening fast. that is 1800s. in this day and age the knowledge is really so vast and limitless and on top of that there is always new things being added every second! it is impossible to know "something about everything" with our limited time!

as for knowing more about cryptocurrencies, it is a cool idea but it is not for everyone. the technicalities are very complicated. for example if you go deep in cryptography that is used, the modular mathematics,... your brain will explode! as a regular user most people are best stick to the general idea of cryptocurrencies.
1479  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investment reality on: October 11, 2018, 12:59:47 PM
80 % of people got involved in crypto from September-December and afterwards, they lost interest to invest watching their investments going down. Companies, corporations and politicians , let's say they filled their bags. And only after all of that we will see some positive regulation
any "investor" who got involved any time including those dates you mentioned is not in a loss. they are in a big profit actually and they are not at all desperate. only newbies who thought they were "investors" are in a loss because only newbies buy and bag hold assets that are in a bubble. otherwise an experienced investor knows what a bubble is and knows how to make a profit from a market that is in a bubble.

Quote
But I firmly stand on my point that the only way for crypto to have a long life is the adoption and not just price speculation. And this will come from all of us. Start in little but whenever you got the chance to pay smth with cryptocurrency, just do it. Let's give real world value to the coins we hold.
very true but you are missing the first and most important step: cryptocurrencies need to be crypto currencies first before they can be adopted. when they are useless junk created for pump and dumps you can't expect anything other than speculation.
1480  Economy / Speculation / Re: Market still stagnant! on: October 11, 2018, 12:32:56 PM
All investors nowadays are still waiting for the market recovery  and since the BER months started.

NONE of the "investors" are waiting for anything in short term. "Investors" are investing for long term and being at the bottom and stable like this is like a dream for them while it is a nightmare for "day traders" which is what you are talking about.

as for "day traders" not "all" of them are waiting for the recovery. some are waiting, some are accumulating and some are currently in altcoin market pumping small altcoins to make 100% to 200% profit every couple of days.
