This is a currency?!  That is what it is meant to be, not the playtoy of a group of conspiracy theorists!  Don't do this; don't kill bitcoin.
3302  Economy / Speculation / Re: What I'd do now on: October 09, 2011, 10:05:06 PM
Agree. BTCUSD sits on the major long term uptrend line which should spark a strong rally.

How many times have we heard this?  I agree with you that we'll eventually have a rally and that there is long-term support, but I have little to no confidence in your timing because the long-term support line is way too broad for us to time the market with such accuracy.

mb300sd, please do a full investigation... I don't want my name to be tarnished because the attack COULD be mine.  Please ensure that it is not Smiley
3304  Economy / Speculation / Re: We are on our way to 3.5-3.7! on: October 09, 2011, 07:38:05 PM
This reminds me... just a couple of weeks ago somebody allegedly bought a house for 40k btc or something.

Is there a number or estimate on how many people are on their mailing list?

Roughly 15k on the mailing list... so that many people will be getting a tiny microdonation in one week. Most will ignore or not care. Some will be marginally interested, and some very interested.

While it may be true that most people wouldn't care about bitcoin for 4 cents, these people know the importance of obsoleting the fed.  To them, bitcoin should have more meaning than 4 cents or even lower transaction fees.  The idea is what counts.

Microtronix is doing bitcoind upgrades.  The site will be back up either in an hour or tomorrow.
3308  Economy / Speculation / Re: Effect of scams, hacks and other scandals on price on: October 09, 2011, 02:43:03 AM
Price will fall as the cat is out of the bag. Satoshi = ArtForz = kano = lolcust = BitcoinExpress = MtGox = SAC which are one and the same person or a group of Japanese scammers / hackers who got us screwed with this scheme. Enjoy holding the bag after <$1 prices ! There is only one route from here and that is DOWN.
Please donate to 1Eq1u2NzwHWqFzj5ksD5D3Bc5iVwzFmYZS to help orphaned children in need.

Your donation is APPRECIATED VERY MUCH by the little ones !

Think of the children !

LOL

+1.

We really need a clear list of rules if we're going to expect anybody to invest their money into this game!

Does the leftover pot go to the person who started the round?
What if nobody bets on a user's round? Do they get all of their BTC back, or does Bitcoinduit/Justduit keep the 25% fee as encouragement to only start good rounds?

Rules are the same as the old bitcoinduit ones (the ones in place when it died).
Nobody bets: they get everything back.  Leftover pot goes 100% to the round starter.
edit: Added rules to main page.
Are the rules out of date? They mention a mandatory 2% fee on each deposit and that only 50% of the remaining pot at the end of the game goes to the host. It also defines the decay feature incorrectly, not to mention reads betcoinduit instead of bitcoinduit. Tongue

Oh my god...
ok I'll go fix those rules lol

I agree with ama, advertising in this thread is a sleazy tactic

I also find it interesting that bitponzi got DDoSed right around the time your site went public...

Yeah, the DDoS thing was VERY unfortunately timed.  You can ask mb300sd to verify that my IP was not involved in that in any way.

How much of the decrease from $30 is due to scams, hacks, etc.?  It strikes me that most of the price decreases are because of these, not people losing faith in bitcoin's concept itself.

Would you refrain from buying a commodity... say gold from which you believe that it will be worth much more tomorrow just because a bank in your area has recently been robbed? I guess not Smiley Its just a depressive phase which will end sooner or later. The "fundamentals" of the project have not changed at all Smiley

Of course the fundamentals have not changed... bitcoin retains its advantages.  But when hackers sell tons of stolen bitcoins on mtgox what would that do to the price?

Idea: 9 people make a pool and take money from the other fool.
3314  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2 Bitcoins for free on: October 09, 2011, 12:14:24 AM
Excellent news.  I'll be advertising on your site soon, maybe that'll make the pot even larger.

To get it going, I will invest in every round somebody makes on this site that gets at least 3 deposits!
Fine print: It can't be too large.
3317  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: BitPonzi.Net - The Bitcoin Ponzi Site - Now Hosted on VPS, NO MORE DOWNTIME! on: October 09, 2011, 12:03:33 AM

Why don't you advertize your games in their threads?  Are you so decided to kill the Bitponzi site?  mb300sd is really a nice guy and after all damage you did to his site do you also have to try to take his players away?

What's wrong with some healthy competition? Smiley
My site has better features.
Taking players away is what the free market tends to do.

Mini_Ponzi_2 is up!
http://old.bitponzi.net/Round_Mini_Ponzi_2.aspx

same deal as before, every time my deposit gets paid I reinvest the max (1btc in this case)

the original Mini_Ponzi worked out fairly well, but I've adjusted this one to 15/15 so more people get paid out, and I'm offering a bonus jackpot of 0.1btc each to the unfortunate 2 which will grow if the round becomes successful (or if anyone wants to donate to the bonus jackpot 15eedGvRYp9GmcXxmjbmm9BpTH4BvPP98S post here or pm so I know that its for the bonus)

if this round is successful expect to see bigger ones in the future  Cool

well Mini_Ponzi_2 was pretty disappointing  Sad I don't even get to pay out the bonus jackpot cuz I was the only loser haha

would there be more interest in this style round if the min/max deposits were higher? I was thinking a 1/10 round would be interesting, but my wallet is hurting after some unwise investments so a .5/5 round is probably what would happen next.

Here you go Smiley
