I immediately noticed this:

Quote
40 BTC / USD

Yes please!  I'll buy 1000 BTC, and since you're saying 40 Bitcoins per USD, I'll pay you $25 via Paypal, Dwolla, mtgoxcode or whatever payment method you want.

You changed his quote.  He never said what you quoted.  He said 40 TBC / USD.  It wasn't a typo.

hmm.. what's a TBC?  That's not a very well known prefix.  Did he mean mBTC?
1 TBC = 0.00065536 BTC
40 TBC = 0.04194304 BTC

O.o
Haven't ever heard of the "tonal system."  Interesting..
2582  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Selling Bitcoins at a high exchange rate on: December 13, 2011, 11:36:25 PM
I'll sell Bitcoins at 25 USD per BTC, or 40 TBC per USD. I don't care that "everyone else" is selling Bitcoins dirt cheap. This is my offer. Take it or leave it. I'm in no rush to sell.

Edit: Also, I encourage everyone else to join me in selling no lower than this approximate price. Eventually, all the people selling dirt cheap will run out and then all selling will revert back to its proper place at $25/BTC Smiley

Just saw this thread.

Oh wow, 7 BTC jackpot.  This site has grown since I last used it!
edit: Here's a suggestion -- you could increase all the small prizes by a constant amount from donations to some address, and merge with bitcoin faucet.

2595  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Staff from PBC suggests taking control of bitcoin network. on: December 11, 2011, 08:18:46 PM
I firmly believe that this guy--地图集--needs to be stopped from spreading fud in forums in China.

If it's not too much trouble can you please post some links to his postings? I'd like read what he's spreading (economic takeover or mining takeover).

It's one thing to be trolling the intertubes, but it's another thing altogether if he abuses his (albeit minor) position at the PBC to influence bitcoin.

Successful troll is successful.

2598  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Staff from PBC suggests taking control of bitcoin network. on: December 11, 2011, 05:36:34 PM
The bitcoin mining network currently has about twice as much power as the 500 most powerful supercomputers in the world combined. And that's with half our machines turned off due to the current price.

I don't think we have to worry about hostile takeovers as long as anyone thinks we have something worth taking over.

Right now, yes.  However, a mining farm built for a takeover would not cost very much (to a government).
2599  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russian developers make Torrent extortion site, is bitcoin next? on: December 11, 2011, 05:34:54 PM
Yep! They have my one and only transaction on record. For the record, I bought that chicken for a Christmas present, and not for personal satisfaction, of which was very upsetting for the chicken, for I think it liked me.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I will now on make doubly sure that I mask my IP (Individual Pleasure) for my next purchase.

Congrats on the 2^11th post!
