2741  Economy / Speculation / Re: Rally!! on: November 30, 2011, 09:34:12 PM
Now that we have passed $3 I think we are going to shoot up fast for a quick rally and maybe settle around 3.15 for the next few days before slowly climbing again.

Definitely.  When BTCUSD passes askwalls the results are extreme.
2742  Economy / Speculation / Re: About to hit $3 again... what now, Proudhoun???? (n/t) on: November 30, 2011, 09:33:29 PM
Battle over 3.10 is beginning.
2743  Economy / Speculation / Re: Rally!! on: November 30, 2011, 09:32:13 PM
In full at 5:1

2749  Economy / Speculation / Re: Warning: How many of you Bears have ever been a victim of a Short Squeeze? on: November 30, 2011, 08:55:14 PM
Who feels the Pain?

This is most certainly temporary.  Bulls are going to get mauled in the coming days and weeks.  Sorry guys.

It's amazing how many content-less posts the speculation forum has Smiley
2750  Economy / Speculation / Re: Nagle's Favorite Chart on: November 30, 2011, 08:00:48 PM
Look at the chart. Today we are completely above the vaunted Brown Line of Resistance so far.
2751  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is the price slowly climbing? on: November 30, 2011, 04:55:11 PM
Damn 6 confirmations.. it's really getting annoying.  I suspect 3 confirmations would be enough.
2752  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is the price slowly climbing? on: November 30, 2011, 04:47:29 PM
mtgoxlive is very damn exciting right now!
edit: BIDWALL AT 2.95 let's see $3 today!
2753  Economy / Marketplace / Re: This is why Bitcoinica users must wait in line for withdrawals on: November 30, 2011, 01:55:37 PM
This is a petty attempt at Mt. Gox to undermine a competitor.  Having 99% of the market isn't enough.

Bitcoinica is not a competitor to mtgox. They look more like a parasite of mtgox.

They allow people to trade mtgox codes, and they leave all the difficult work (dealing with banks and regulations) to mtgox.

Do you know how much Bitcoinica pays in fees? Probably a significant portion of mtgox's income.
2754  Economy / Marketplace / Re: This is why Bitcoinica users must wait in line for withdrawals on: November 30, 2011, 01:42:00 PM
Based on history, there is more reason to trust the "illegal loan entity run by a minor" than MtGox themselves. Only thing that worries me is that a lot of bitcoinica's money is in MtGox accounts. If there is such hostility towards bitcoinica, and likely future conflicts of interest, it makes me worried.

+1.
2755  Economy / Marketplace / Re: This is why Bitcoinica users must wait in line for withdrawals on: November 30, 2011, 05:38:20 AM
zhoutong:
1. Is bitcoinica a corporation?
2. Why hasn't bitcoinica submitted proper corporate documentation to mtgox? (if you have, please say so)
2756  Other / Off-topic / Re: My Attempt at The Uberman Sleep Schedule on: November 30, 2011, 05:06:34 AM
I read a news article recently which said that some people are genetically required to sleep more than others Sad
How inefficient....
2757  Other / Off-topic / Re: Last post before 6/1/2012 wins 5 BTC... and who knows how much that will be on: November 30, 2011, 05:05:10 AM

Something is wrong with the above.
2758  Economy / Marketplace / This is why Bitcoinica users must wait in line for withdrawals on: November 30, 2011, 04:58:20 AM
[23:51] <@MagicalTux> 2. We are mtgox, not bitcoinica
[23:51] <inau> heh
[23:51] <inau> well, bitcoinica says
[23:51] <inau> that you are imposing your withdrawal limits on their account
[23:52] <inau> this is causing a great deal of trouble for bitcoinica users
[23:52] <@MagicalTux> inau: bitcoinica is an illegal loan entity run by a minor
[23:52] <@MagicalTux> technically
[23:52] <@MagicalTux> now, if we had proper corporate documentation for bitcoinica we could allow larger withdraw limits
[23:52] <inau> i see

There it is, mtgox's official position on bitcoinica. Sad

40$ in btc, but could you give some more info/details about it?

AMANDA IS A SCAMMER. Don't deal with him/her.
2760  Economy / Speculation / Re: Diggin' the new Bitcoinica interface on: November 29, 2011, 10:40:37 PM
I calculated the commission rate for each volume size based upon today's numbers...

V ≤ 50 ... 2%
50 < V ≤ 500 ... 7.8%
500 < V ≤ 5,000 ... 17%

These numbers are absurd.

That's not the actual commission. You haven't taken into account market depth. Try to sell 5000 BTC on Mt Gox and see what happens to the price.

Oh really? At Bitcoinica, selling 5000 gets you 2.5666 each.  At mtgox, ACCOUNTING FOR DEPTH, at least 2.7 (check on mtgoxlive).
Rates are indeed absurd.

Yes really. The difference between 2.5666 and 2.7 is more like 5% not 17% like Zotia posted.

I meant to say that commissions are still absurdly high even when you account for market depth.
