3001  Economy / Gambling / Re: BITCOINDUIT --- Now back at Bitcoinduit.com on: October 31, 2011, 12:48:20 PM
Just wanted to point out a possible scam on bitcoinduit.com.  A game called "DonatetoBitcoinduit" has been made and, as per the rules, the player who created the game takes the pot.  If this is NOT actually a bitcoinduit created game, it is actually a scam.

Don't worry, I made that.  The 900000% ROI was to show people that I made it, because only I can modify the DB to allow such a huge ROI.
edit: by the way, want a 1 BTC freeroll? If so, send me settings! Smiley
Okay, I just wanted to make certain.  ^_^  And, as far as the freeroll, I'm not sure what the method you use/information you require is.  Right now, I'm just trying to build up enough BTC to get a decent graphics card and gas money.  Since I mine at about 30 Mhash/sec, I'm sticking to smaller Ponzie games in the .1 - .5 BTC range for now.  I imagine that it makes it easier for those just getting started in BTC to join the fun.

Also, while I have your attention, what are the rules in the ranging of the first opening bet (host bet)?  When I start a round, I've found that it tells me that I have to start it with the maximum bet size.  Since I start rounds ranging in .1 - .5, it tells me I have to send .5 - 0.5 BTC to begin the round.  I know that it's not 100% required since I've seen some rounds start with 50% of the maximum or less, so what are the rules as far as that's concerned?

Thank you.

Oh yeah, we never implemented the 0.5 minimum for the first bet.  Sorry about that.
For the freeroll, I need your address and settings for the game.  That way you can see how larger games play out...
Some freerolls have been amazingly unsuccessful, so choose good rules!

Surprised no one else jumped on this, but:

Bitcoinduit is just as illegal as playing Monopoly.

You just admitted that Bitcoin is play money.

There you go, misinterpreting his post, moving the goalposts and contradicting your own previous statements.
3003  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: DeepBit pool thread for newbies on: October 31, 2011, 03:59:02 AM
Why would you use Deepbit in the first place? With merged mining out, you could be making more using one of the pools that supported it.

People use deepbit because it's large.  That's the only reason I can think of, really.

3010  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Forever game... GOINGandGOINGandGOING: 1 BTC minimum, 1.15x on: October 31, 2011, 12:18:46 AM
Looks like someone is getting an easy jackpot here though… I currently don't have a bitcoin available to keep it going.

I'll keep it going if nobody else does. Don't worry.
3011  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin for Iceland on: October 30, 2011, 11:58:16 PM
Maybe they should just back their currency with Bitcoins instead of introducing it as the national currency?

3014  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin business opportunity on: October 30, 2011, 07:34:55 PM
Genuine question:  Isn't starting a Bitcoin business in an 'economically depressed' area full of 'retirees (old people)' kinda counter-intuitive?

Those retirees get a lot of Social Security, so their money will keep coming in, and I don't hae to worry about unemployment and lack of discretionary income

I'm suggesting that older folk aren't really down with BTC.

Yeah, it's ludicrous to accept Bitcoins from elderly people.
3015  Other / Off-topic / Re: I.Goldstein's charity ponzi on: October 30, 2011, 07:24:43 PM
As a public relations expert I would suggest one of the problems you are having is one of perception.  Since you have named your game after a fraudulent and illegal investment scheme associated with criminals such as Bernie Madoff, people are assuming out of ignorance that your game is similar to the fraudulent activities of other individuals.

I would suggest dropping those references from your site and focusing on the BitConduit brand as the name of the game.  You still maintain full disclosure of the rules and payments of course.

Just realized that "Ponzi" is mentioned in the Rules.  I've tried to keep the use of the term to unofficial discussions, but not in advertising and webpages.  Thanks for the tip.
3016  Other / Off-topic / Re: I.Goldstein's charity ponzi on: October 30, 2011, 06:28:55 PM
You can already see how many people paid in.  Since you do not realize this, you have obviously not even attempted to take a rational look at my site.  Arguing without knowing what you're talking about makes you look like an idiot.
The other two suggestions you make are actually good ideas, they'd help people make informed decisions.  I'll try to get them implemented soon.  However, you can already calculate these figures from the site's public listings.
Also, I'd like to note that late in a Ponzi game, people are betting that either they'll get the large jackpot or that they'll get paid out because the game will go on for a very long time due to the large jackpot.
3017  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Forever game... GOINGandGOINGandGOING: 1 BTC minimum, 1.15x on: October 30, 2011, 06:19:51 PM
Actually, make that 5!

Heh, this really could last weeks!
3018  Other / Off-topic / Re: I.Goldstein's charity ponzi on: October 30, 2011, 05:20:05 PM
Yeah, I publicly admit that people LOSE MONEY ON PONZI.  They can also win.
This full disclosure makes ponzi NOT A SCAM.
3019  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoinduit -- Faster than mining! Free bitcoin every day! (10/30 taken already) on: October 30, 2011, 05:08:13 PM

3020  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Casascius phishers demanding a ransom on: October 30, 2011, 04:13:12 PM
BTC -- I'd just go with "coin" Tongue
For larger amounts -- 50 BTC = a block.
