3161  Economy / Speculation / Re: Warning: How many of you Bears have ever been a victim of a Short Squeeze? on: October 21, 2011, 02:17:32 AM
Honestly, the Bitcoin community is still very much an insular geek village.  That'll change but not now, not yet.  The current "rally" is clearly the manipulator.
3162  Economy / Speculation / Re: Warning: How many of you Bears have ever been a victim of a Short Squeeze? on: October 21, 2011, 02:12:12 AM
This rally is BS...
3163  Economy / Speculation / Re: I am predicting a spike above $3 on: October 20, 2011, 07:21:58 PM
$2 has been a very strong support level so far. I also think that it's fairly likely we'll see a short term bounce soon.

We've had these strong support levels at any psychological number.  Every single one breaks because someone sells out into it, or is cancelled.
It'll be going down today, I can feel it.

Wow... they're really desperate now.
3165  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: March 2012 BitCon in San Antonio, Texas - News Thread on: October 20, 2011, 05:41:05 PM
edd, I'm pretty far from Texas, so I can't come even though I want to.
I sincerely hope it's not just you and Atlas xD
3166  Economy / Speculation / Re: I am predicting a spike above $3 on: October 20, 2011, 05:38:22 PM
The bid wall means that we aren't going to see a spike.  Relax, everyone.

Hi everyone,
I recently requested a dedicated IP and then promptly forgot about it.  They suspended my account because I forgot to pay for the IP.... lol.
I'll have it up and running soon!

if someone had enough coins to dump, he wouldnt have enough time to retract his bidwall to a lower price.

GOGOGOGOGO SOMEONE
3169  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Am I the only one here... on: October 20, 2011, 02:18:04 AM
There do seem to be more trolls than makes any sense to me.  People who spend their time reading a message board of a project they dont support so actively they are often the first responses?  Odd

Exactly. And their comments are longer than ever.

It's amazing, isn't it?  But such is life on the internet.
3170  Economy / Speculation / Re: No, There is no manipulator on: October 20, 2011, 02:05:30 AM
Hmm it's rallying again!

"Rally"  Roll Eyes
3171  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bull trap? on: October 20, 2011, 02:04:34 AM
Yep, bull trap it is.  It'll go back down soon.  Smiley
3172  Economy / Speculation / Re: Rome Is Burning! I Brought Marshmallows! We Need: Chocolate & Graham Crackers.. on: October 20, 2011, 01:53:24 AM
Soon you'll be adding something else to your shorts...

That was pretty funny =)  Yeah we'll see what happens when people realize bubbles can occur in two directions...

Bitcoin is a sound idea in the long run but that doesn't mean it has to start rallying at this exact moment.  How do you know that it won't go down to $1.5 or $1 or $0.5 before rallying?
3173  Other / Archival / Fuck it, let's make a spreadsheet!!!! DOUBLER!!! on: October 20, 2011, 01:10:50 AM

This is the first spreadsheet game in MONTHS!  tysat wanted a retro day Tongue

"spreadsheet games", especially considering that I haven't seen one for months.

I should totally bring the spreadsheet games thing back!

Do it! We'll have a retro day!

Hearken back to the $15 days xD

Why have many rounds had negative time remaining in the last few days?

It was a bug with sendmany.  It's been fixed Smiley
So now losers' pots will not crash the update script.

We'll give you a 20 BTC donation for you to make a separate "Games & Rounds" board.  I think that it would revive ponzi without creating any spam troubles for the "main" gambling forum and thus it should be a no-brainer.  I really don't get your problem with "0-2 replies"... as long as it brings business and fun to Bitcoin...

it could take less than another 6 mo for you to be eating your words.

Bitcoin is not going anywhere because it's economically and technically flawed.

Where is it economically or technically flawed?  Nobody has double-spent a single bitcoin.  Prove me wrong.

I'd have to run it by theymos, but how would a "Games and Rounds" subforum of the Gambling board be as a compromise? I still don't like the idea of people spamming their games here, but I suppose that it would be better than the current situation of people posting in the main threads.

However, I highly suspect that this means that the Gambling forum will need a local moderator, because I, for one, am not going to be visiting that sub-forum. Any suggestions? (again, theymos would have to decide if a new moderator would really be necessary, but I'd still like to get the ball rolling)

Edit: Scratch that question of asking for moderator nominations. I nominate both of you, unless you wish to decline. This thread provides a great deal of evidence that you care about this forum and have a well-reasoned thought process, so it would make sense to choose you two.

The "Games and Rounds" subforum sounds like a good idea.  I'd be willing to be a local moderator for the Gambling forum if you need one, although right now it seems like it's largely self-regulating.
By the way, thanks for the compliments.
