Well it's great to see there's plenty of stupid people (yes, nothing better to call them than stupid) in the crypto scene. Stupid people make great fodder for scammers and ICOs and give legitimacy for government intervention to prevent stupid people from doing stupid things.

DON'T MINE AT A LOSS! SHUT OFF THE MINER EVEN IF IT IS PAID FOR. CREATING LOSS OF OPERATING CAPITOL IS NOT GOING TO HELP LOSS OF PORTFOLIO VALUE. IF YOU FEEL THE NEED TO SUPPORT THE COIN DURING A DOWNTREND CREATE SOME DEMAND AND BUY THE COIN ON AN EXCHANGE.

I swear no matter how many times the people who understand post this concept the noobs just keep disregarding it and then complain 2 years later  Roll Eyes

You've been literally trying to make these stupid people understand that for a big while (almost all of your recent posts are regarding this thing).

Stupid people will keep popping up, it's useless to spend your precious time on them. Roll Eyes

I do understand your pain though!

I recently applied for Fiat-Crypto trading and deposits/withdrawals at Bittrex and the application got approved. It's awesome to have buy/sell option for *real* fiat (as I don't trust Tether and TrueUSD).

I'm going to request a bank-wire withdrawal soon and will let you guys know how my experience goes with that deposit/withdraw option. Wink

So, I'm setting up a ledger wallet using this guide https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/8op6cp/ledger_cli_guides_requires_cli_v01220/

It requires me to get fully synced before I can setup it up on ledger. Will I need to also sync in the future on ledger or is it one time thing? Also it doesn't seem like typical ledger wallet and I'm not even sure if it does smth for my safety. basically I need to know, is there any benefits of storing monero on a ledger?

Whats the best way to store monero? Is it ledger wallet?

Go with paper wallet.

Another win for Hong Kong. They defeated UAE by two wickets and have qualified for the Asia cup after 10 years! Smiley

They've definitely improved overall.

All I know:... bitcorn is a trillion times better than Amazon

Okay, rephrasing it for you guys:

All I know:... bitcorn is a trillion times *sexier* than Amazon

So it deserves a trillion times more market-cap than Amazon... and I'm serious!
2646  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v11.9 (Windows/Linux) on: September 06, 2018, 06:31:10 PM
https://bitsonline.com/ether-2-eth-block-reward/
Devs agreed on 2 ethers per block reward instead of 3 as it is now. This will happen with the coming fork in October together with a delay of the difficulty bomb by a year. Last November happened something similar, if I recall correctly. Then the reduced time for a block compensated the miners, so we got the same profit at the end. I hope it will be the same situation this October, or else the mining will end for those with expensive electricity.

Prepare to see a big GPU sell-off.

I'm now going to turn into a gamer. Is there any high-end game that requires 12 high-end GPU's at once and works with only 2 GB RAM + Pentium processor? Roll Eyes

LOL

A couple days ago I was laughing on this post. But here comes the day when mining is no longer profitable for me: doesn't cover my electricity bill.
RX 480, 580, GTX 1070 - all now scrap metal. Anyone wants to buy?

Hmmm maybe hodl the GPUs for a little bit of time? Things can turn around in a month.
2647  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: September 05, 2018, 07:57:35 PM
Is there something like a spinner app for ethereum classic in the making? Did anyone know some faucets or something like that, to make some free ETC? Would be great if someone give us some informations.

Just search "ETC faucets" on Google and you'll get some good results leading you to legitimate faucet websites.
2648  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: It's time to sell the old GPU ? on: September 05, 2018, 07:49:01 PM
Do you think is the right time to sell old GPU like RX470, RX480, GTX1070 ?

If you're currently mining and selling right away, then yes, it's the time for you to sell them. However, if you're having a macro-strategy, and you're not selling the coin right after mining it, then you should continue mining (of course, only if it's profitable and gives you in return your electric cost + some profit) and just forget about selling it.

most gamers don't want them if they were used for mining.

So true. In almost all of the GPU-buying related ads, gamers clearly mention that, "don't dare to contact me if you've used the card for mining!" Roll Eyes

I've had this issue in the past when I actually was buying GPUs for mining, I didn't want any that was used in mining either.

The reason why is because the older GPUs like the 280X, they used massive power like 300 Watts per GPU. And most people who mined with those GPUs probably didn't have adequate cooling and the fans always ran at 90% and were near dead.

I noticed that most of the ones on the market however were mined with because the seller had no idea what the current gaming titles were or anything about high spec PC components like which i5 or i7 CPU to get, RAM speeds, etc.

However in the end its impossible to prove if it ever was mined with or not. Some non-mining GPUs can also have dead fans.

IMO, if the GPU passes the stress test, it proves that the GPU is still in a very good condition and can still live long enough; rest depends upon your luck.

Still nothing from Claymore and at the same time Phoenix team stopped replying
I'm sensing something is going on?

Is there even any need for another update? v11.9 is working all good for me.

Good to see ZCL is not pumping crazily right now like it was pumping back in February when Bitcoin Private was scheduled to fork. Seems like people have learned enough from Bitcoin Private and not willing to be the part of the trap once again. Roll Eyes
2651  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Should I teach myself Python on: September 05, 2018, 05:34:40 PM
If you're planning to develop crypto-currencies and program cryptography in future, go for Haskell instead of any other popular language like Python, Java, C, etc (yup, forget everything else!)... Haskell (currently being used by Cardano only) has the best security for cryptography and once you learn about it, you'll be surprised to see how awesome it is mathematically.

Bitcoin Cash: -15%

Nepal was supposed to be the next team to emerge from Asia, after Bangladesh and Afghanistan, given that there is strong support for the game at the grassroot level. But they could manage only 95 runs against Hong Kong in a 50 over match. They have a long way to go!

The funny thing is, 80% of Hong Kong cricket team consists of Bengladeshis and Pakistanis.

Why aren't Hong Kong people interested in playing cricket? Roll Eyes
2656  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 04, 2018, 11:20:04 AM

Even if you find some similar pattern, there is a pretty low chance that they are correlated, and they may even have a bit of reverse correlation going on.

Perhaps your two charts demonstrate that you can compare anything as long as you tweak the time lines?

Well, this can't be ignored; they're just way too similar to be ignored. I know why you're hating it a bit, it's probably because of the difference of "billion" and "trillion" in ATH of both the graphs.

If bitcoin follows it further, we'll see a new ATH in December next year. I think none of us would mind having a new ATH next year, would you? Plus imagine for a second, if that happens then after one and a half year, people will start looking at the bitcoin's graph to see where NASDAQ is going in the future. Wink

England won the match and with that they also won the series. Poor performance by team as they were 123/4 and finally all out in 184 runs. This is not unacceptable from the such a good team that get all out chasing a score where it had to defend the match to maintain the level in the series.

Bad performance by English team but even worse performance by Indian team. Even though England won this match, I'd still say they need to work a lot. They seriously need to include more young cricketers and get rid of their senior-most cricketers including Joe Root and Alestair Cook.
