If I am not mistaken you can now use your bitcoins directly on paying tax, on transport, and other public service in some parts of Switzerland and in USA but they did not made an announcement about making bitcoin as legal tender, maybe because the use of btc is only limited for now. Let's hope they continue to widen it and of course other countries should follow it too.

Addirittura i BTC donati credo siano difficilmente attribuibili come proprietà al “forum”. Ulteriori info, anche se datata, sulla provenienza dei fondi del forum: A committee is being formed to get this done.
I'm getting awfully sick of people complaining about the forum's BTC... ~57% of the forum's money is from ads, not donations. Perhaps 20% is from people who donated when BTC had very little value, and they (and I) thought that the forum software would be forthcoming. I apologize for taking so long, but my waiting has increased the purchasing power of this money by 500+%. The rest is from people who mostly just wanted the Donator/VIP label, and knew that the forum software was unlikely to appear soon. This is only an issue at all because my good management of the forum's finances resulted in a gigantic stash of money. Direi che in ogni caso anche "solamente" con quel 20% di donazioni un forum nuovo potrebbe tranquillamente saltare fuori. Sono d'accordo che sia praticamente impossibile attribuire un valore preciso però le riserve di questo forum sono enormi, mi chiedo se esista un solo altro forum al mondo con un fondo del genere dietro, non penso proprio. |

Tipo blocco IP (dico cose a caxxo), blocco server , blocco exchange ecc? Certamente, basta semplicemente chiudere internet e bitcoin non sarà utilizzabile. Se poi valga effettivamente la pena vivere senza internet per evitare che la Russia possa accettare pagamenti in bitcoin, beh, a me sembra una soluzione un po' estrema e non sono sicuro che la gente sarebbe contenta, ma è solo un pensiero mio |

Ho fatto qualche ricerca e confermo che si parlava di un nuovo forum già nel 2013, poi ogni volta veniva tutto ritardato perché si era sempre alla ricerca del miglior software e cose simili, nel frattempo il valore dei BTC continuava ad aumentare ma non si faceva mai nulla. Ognuno tragga le proprie conclusioni. Mentre cercavo info mi sono imbattuto anche in questo AMA, lascio il link nel caso in cui qualcuno fosse curioso di sapere qualcosina in più di Theymos. |

Credo sia una istanza legittima: si può riesumare quel thread e chiedere un update. A meno che in metà ve ne sia un altro analogo. Probabilmente perché una volta che compri bitcoin puoi spendere direttamente quel bitcoin senza bisogno di passare di nuovo dalla banca, quindi ti rende indipendente, e alla banca non piace. Con l'azione di Tesla non puoi comprarci direttamente un caffè, una cena o una macchina. Alla banca proteggere il cliente interessa meno di zero, l'importante è che gli serva a qualcosa.
Ragionamento miope, quello delle banche, se vogliono rimanere rilevanti nel mondo crypto devono provare a giocarsi un ruolo, anziché negare il cambiamento. Altrimenti faranno la fine dei dinosauri. Sono assolutamente d'accordo con te, però stiamo parlando di gente con un'età media abbastanza elevata (mi riferisco a coloro che stanno ai piani alti) e poco avvezzi ai cambiamenti, quindi per loro è più facile pensare "noi siamo una banca e abbiamo un sistema dietro, questi sono un branco di stupidi nerd". Le banche sveglie hanno già capito che è meglio lavorare "con" bitcoin piuttosto che contro bitcoin, poi come sempre ci sarà una selezione naturale, come in tutte le cose. Il sistema dei merit ha ridotto la quantità di utenti che avevano 20 account e campavano di bounty rendendo il forum illeggibile, col senno di poi non sta andando male; il problema piuttosto è che non esiste una 2FA, e gli account di questo forum sono preziosi.
[OT] Vero, pero' ha anche alimentato vari fenomeni: -post da 2 righe che fondamentalmente dicono "si sono d'accordo con te" -post di due righe che dicono "ah sono d'accordo con te che sei d'accordo con me" -post ripetuti che dicono sempre le stesse cose (nei migliori casi) -post ripetuti che non dicono niente (in diversi casi) fatti giusto per beccarsi qualche merit. Resto convinto che il contenuto informativo, ossia i post con contenuti originali e ragionati e che quindi arricchiscono davvero il forum siano in media molti di meno rispetto a qualche anno fa. [/OT] Il problema è che come sempre sembra che sia impossibile fare le cose fatte bene in questo forum: Theymos ha sempre detto che la decisione dei merit è insindacabile, quindi nessuno ha il potere di reputare assurda la scelta di dare 50 merit per un "sono d'accordo". Come in qualsiasi aspetto della vita l'essere umano, in assenza di regole e punizioni, farà di tutto per trarne un guadagno personale. The first thing I thought when I saw this is that I would like to see it become generalized and start seeing bars of this style all over the world.
Although I immediately thought that there is a drawback: the regulations that consider Bitcoin as a financial asset and that make you have to declare, and if applicable, pay capital gains every time you pay for a beer or a coffee. With all the problems that a country like Mexico has your think that SAT (the Mexican equivalent of the IRS) has the power and the resources to check bitcoin transactions? Unless we're talking about someone who get caught because of other reasons, and then we can add bitcoin to the list, I don't really see how they could find someone who spent cryptos in a pub... There are worse ways to use and spend bitcoin, finding people who use them in a pub would be the last one. |

Sono passati anni, ma il nuovo forum si deve ancora vedere.
In altri casi sarebbe stato un evidente scam, ma siccome e' teymos... Proprio lì volevo arrivare. È una situazione assurda in quanto oramai i fondi raccolti equivalgono a svariati milioni di dollari, il forum è sempre lo stesso da anni, dubito che Theymos sia ancora uno "full time student" dato che sono passati 9 anni da quel post del 2013, cosa gli costa spendere un paio di bitcoin per finalmente aggiornare tutto? Sono soldi donati proprio per questo. In compenso ha implementato il sistema dei merit, che a mio modesto avviso ha contribuito a peggiorare di parecchio la qualita' del forum. Il sistema dei merit ha ridotto la quantità di utenti che avevano 20 account e campavano di bounty rendendo il forum illeggibile, col senno di poi non sta andando male; il problema piuttosto è che non esiste una 2FA, e gli account di questo forum sono preziosi. |

EDIT: parliamo di donazioni riscevute quando i bitcoin valevano, rispetto ad oggi, 4 spicci. Ancge ipotizzando un prezzo medio di 200$ avremo almeno 350 bitcoin di donazioni (anche se ricordo di aver letto di un certo paraipan, che targicamente scomparso ha portato con se un bel pò di bitcoin del forum) Andrebbe fatta una ricerca un po' approfondita perché mi pare che ci siano thread che parlino di questo tema, in ogni caso mi sembra di ricordare che per l'aggiornamento del forum, anni fa, fossero stati raccolti oltre 600 BTC. In teoria i fondi sarebbero dovuti essere usati per, appunto, ringiovanire il forum, in pratica non mi risulta che nulla sia stato fatto, non per niente sembra di essere in uno dei primi forum mai creati dall'avvento di internet |

This my thoughts, wby? Bitcoin is becoming also a store of value against the inflation, which is pretty high now after all the money they printed during the pandemic. Also bitcoin is not very common yet as payment method, this kind of things take time. Back in the '90s you could send an email if you wanted, but few people were using it so fax and mails were more used. With bitcoin will happen the same, we just need to wait. |

Is it true that bitcoin is not affected by the altcoins? I am thinking it would have been better if only bitciin is existing as it will have more value, though bitcoin can not be compared to altcoins in many ways as it is the first and the giant. If they are called "altcoins" there is a reason, and I think there is enough space for everybody in this world. Bitcoin probably will always be the king but tokens like ETH etc actually help the growth of the sector. Many people wouldn't invest in bitcoin just because "now it's too expensive" and they prefer to buy altcoins, but then they eventually end up understanding more about bitcoin as well, so it's kind of win-win situation. Of course the downside are all the scams. |

His family couldn't have access to his Bitcoin account because nobody knew his password or even his email. It became extremely difficult because the armed robbers stole his laptop and phone. Currently his wife and son are suffering because he invested heavily on cryptocurrencies.
Data analyst believe that only one in four people share thier password with others. They also say that between 2.3 million and 3.7 million bitcoins amouting to over $15 to $24 billion have been lost due to disappearance of owners mainly caused by death.
Financial Analyst has advised the following:
1) Let at least one trusted individual know your password. It's difficult to get such person but it is better than loosing your investment's.
2) Write it and keep it in a vault. Although it's risky but at least it's more preferable.
3) Include your crypto investments in a will.
4) Use wallets that have inheritance plans.
5) Seek advice from cryto inheritance firms.
The conclusion is keep your Bitcoin secure, but accessible.
I agree that many people don't think about the consequences for their families in case something would happen to them. At the same time choosing the right person to explain how it works is not an easy choice, you must absolutely be 100% sure because money can really bring people to do things they would never do under normal circumstances. |

Hi everyone, it's been awhile, just wanted to tell you that I still haven't sold a bit of BTC since 2013... if I can do it you can do it too!
Some of you may say it's a dumb decision or risky, but I'm all for BTC and positive about it. To the Moon!
There's nothing dumb when you hodl, it's simply the best decision in the long term, unless you're a great trader. I read several times articles and they all agree that in the long term hodling is the best move. Congratulations for hodling for almost 10 years now, that's actually impressive! |

If such a themed bar was opened up in my Neighborhood or town, it would be my favorite hangout. I totally agree with you! This is also a great marketing move because all the crypto enthusiasts for sure would go there, especially to meet new people interested in cryptos as well. I hope this will become a trend. |
