3041  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Proposals for global shutdown of crypto on: April 06, 2022, 03:47:42 PM
The goal would be to end the ecoonomic destruction of bitcoin / crypto while causing the least losses possible to public.

Ideas on how to shut this endless crashing garbage down safely?
I'm a little confused, I think you probably misspelled "fiat money", or by mistake you wrote bitcoin instead, am I right? Because besides fiat money I can't think about any other "endless crashing garbage", and I'm trying hard eh, but no, nothing else comes up to my mind  Tongue

3043  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Microstrategy rug us again? on: April 06, 2022, 03:25:28 AM
Bitcoin sharply drop after Microstrategy announced they purchased a total of 4167BTC. The price is building a bullish momentum when the price drop coincidentally after the announcement. This is not the first time happened that involves whale company announce positive new while price moves in opposite way.

Does this institutional investors manipulating the price or traders is just using there news as a negative signal?
Probably it's just a coincidence but I noticed as well that it's not the first time that Saylor says he bought a ton of bitcoins and, after a few hours, the prices has a correction. I can't explain why and I don't think there is any kind of manipulation, maybe it's just bad luck...
3044  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's preventing bitcoin from worldwide adoption? on: April 06, 2022, 03:21:37 AM
3. Fluctuating value: The value of bitcoin isn't steady as it rises and falls. The uncertainty in the price and value greatly hinders the general adoption worldwide.

4. Awareness: Nearly not enough effort on creating and spreading positive awareness on it as some government and individuals alike is hell bent on spreading negativity around and poisoning the minds of prospective users. People need to be aware and understand what bitcoin is really about and be awake to its uses.
Those two points are a major cause in my opinion. I would also add that buying a bitcoin is not exactly a straight forwarding thing to do since usually you have to open an account on an exchange, send the documents, wait to be verified, transfer the money and then decide where to store them. Many times when you explain to people all these steps, a lot of them immediately think it's too much effort.
3045  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sam Bankman-Fried, the founder of FTX, wants to give away 99% of his money on: April 05, 2022, 11:20:32 PM
"The billionaire founder of crypto exchange FTX, Sam Bankman-Fried, has plans to give away the vast majority of his wealth thanks to the philosophy of "effective altruism," which he learned in college.

Despite running a multibillion-dollar global crypto exchange, the 30-year-old drives a Toyota Corolla, lives like a college student, and has a goal of making as much money as possible so that he will have more to give away, according to Bloomberg.

Even with his massive wealth, he says he'll keep only about 1% of his earnings each year, or about $100,000.

"You pretty quickly run out of really effective ways to make yourself happier by spending money," Bankman-Fried told Bloomberg. "I don't want a yacht."

Bankman-Fried told Bloomberg he doesn't second-guess his decision to give most of his money away."

That is very noble of him! I always wondered what people with that much money could do, this is probably the best answer! At this point I also wonder if he is going to leave something to his (future) kids, lately more and more wealthy people don't want to spoil their kids leaving them millions and millions of dollars.
3046  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 30% tax on crypto income in INDIA on: April 05, 2022, 11:13:17 PM
I feel that the crypto tax imposed on the Indian citizens is very large, what about those who make no profit (loss) with their crypto investments, are they taxed too?
What do you mean? How can any government tax someone over money they lost? They tax the gains, if you have lost money than there is no gain, so of course you are not going to pay. Otherwise it would be like asking for tax money to a business that when bankrupt, how are they supposed to pay? And especially, why should they?
3047  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain.com Wallet KYC on: April 05, 2022, 11:07:26 PM
What are your thoughts about this? Do you think more and more services will adopt similar techniques?
It's possible that some wallets in the future will require a KYC process. Anyway talking about Blockchain.com, just stay away from that exchange/wallet, I've read so many stories of people who found their wallet locked for "security reasons" and despite all the documentation they sent, they wouldn't unlock the wallet. I wouldn't put any satoshi there, and for sure I wouldn't give them my personal details.
3048  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CEX ruins the true value of Bitcoin on: April 05, 2022, 10:47:51 PM
The possibility of theft from members of the platform themselves, even if they are its owners, remains a possibility that cannot be abandoned. We have seen similar cases in the past so we do not cancel any hypothesis. And I think we all remember the MT.GOX platform, which is an issue that has not yet been resolved after making sure that the project managers were the ones who stole the users' money. Assuming that platform owners are rich, users' savings represent a much larger figure that can be easily obtained instead of working to make a profit.
Could you please remind me in what year MtGox scammed its users? Many things changed in the meantime, and all the exchanges that scammed usually were minor exchanges, sometimes located in secondary countries (I remember one in Turkey for example). Of course everyone can believe what he wants to believe, if you think that Coinbase or Binance will scam their users, you are totally free to think it. But again, I don't see a single reason for them to do it.

3050  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you, or would you ever use a Bitcoin ATM? on: April 05, 2022, 03:55:52 PM
I've seen them pop up all around me, in small convenience stores and even restaurants. I was wondering if it's a good option to buy a gift for someone else, or are the fees too high and it's not worth it? Also I'm not sure how it works but figuring they give you a private key, and how safe is that?
I never bought bitcoin from an ATM and probably I won't do it in the future either. High commissions, personal informations, very high spread... If you want to try just for fun it could be ok, but if someone has a little experience I really don't see the point unless you absolutely need some satoshi and that's the only feasible way.
3051  Local / Italiano (Italian) / Re: Fisco / Tasse / Legge sul Bitcoin on: April 05, 2022, 03:49:35 PM

3052  Local / Italiano (Italian) / Re: UE e possibile nuovo regolamento wallet crypto: rischi sicurezza personale on: April 05, 2022, 03:47:50 PM

3053  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 30% tax on crypto income in INDIA on: April 05, 2022, 03:29:35 PM
This is not really good news for India, I think people will refrain from investing in it for huge taxes. This could hinder the progress of cryptocurrency. Even then, a Member of Parliament from India has been thinking positively about it. He has already spoken about it in Parliament. "Government doesn't understand Crypto hence the strictly regulations": Priyanka Chaturvedi
This is going to impact only the Indian cryptocurrency market that, with all due respect, it's not very important. We survived the actual ban from China, not for bitcoin only but for mining as well, having or not having India won't change things, I just feel sorry for the Indian people.
3054  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Three thousand Bitcoin ATM Installed In first quarter Of 2022 on: April 05, 2022, 04:41:00 AM
Privacy concern is probably one reason.
Yes and no, mainly because someone who is going to buy bitcoin at an ATM probably is going to get only a few hundred dollars, not big quantities. And as far as I remember those ATM don't have very good prices but again, if you buy only $100-200 you won't even notice that.
3055  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: imagine a world without Bitcoin on: April 05, 2022, 01:15:55 AM
There are many people in the world who do not use bitcoins. They have no knowledge of bitcoins. For those huge populations, digital money is still plastic cards (Credit/ debit cards). If there were no bitcoin, nothing would have changed, rather the governments and the banks would have been relieved to see that no currency exists for the people over which people have control. I still think governments wants a bitcoin free economic system.  Wink
Let's not forget that bitcoin was created a little more than 10 years ago, so we're talking about a very short time frame. And many people don't get approved by banks to open a bank account, so sooner or later someone will them about bitcoin and how to easily transfer money without needing a bank approval.
3056  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 30% tax on crypto income in INDIA on: April 05, 2022, 01:09:40 AM
You pretty much have 2 choices.

1. Only invest the right amounts whereas you wouldn't be forced to sell(hence get taxed) if it's the case you end up needing money. Pretty much always have enough cash ready for your needs and for accidents and such.

2. You move countries.
I'm not sure about the second option for a country like India, I try to explain myself better: a EU citizen for example can easily go to another country within the EU without needing a permit/visa; people in the US can go to another US state with different rules; I'm not sure if Indian people can actually move somewhere else as permanent resident without a visa. Of course it all depends on the amount of money we're talking about, $100k for example may look like a lot of money but in reality in many countries that's nothing. If we're talking about several millions than it's a totally different story.

I mean.... how stupid are the government officials in India?

"Indian tax officials say crypto profits are like lottery winsRoll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes - https://qz.com/india/2144325/how-will-indias-crypto-investments-be-taxed/
I've read many stupid things about bitcoin and cryptos, but here we just got to another level. Those people have no idea what hodling means.
3057  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Three thousand Bitcoin ATM Installed In first quarter Of 2022 on: April 05, 2022, 01:00:54 AM
As the rate of Bitcoin ATM increased it has become evident that holders of Bitcoin can spend their Bitcoin at any shops or outlet, this give Bitcoin the mainstream adoption and the rate of Bitcoin ATM increase to a very high and the previous year 2021 saw where bitcoin ATM we're installed in gas stations and now pos outlets now accept Bitcoin debit cards for various transactions/payment. About 20,000 Bitcoin ATM was installed in 2021 and that has not stopped as the have been an installation of over 3,000 Bitcoin ATM in the first quarter of the year 2022. This data was show on the news:
 https://news.bitcoin.com/tracker-shows-close-to-3000-crypto-atms-were-installed-in-2022s-first-quarter/
Personally I highly doubt I'll ever buy bitcoins from an ATM but it's nice to see that other people can do it, maybe some of them will buy just out of curiosity. And another thing: if there are people/companies that keep investing money in these ATMs, it means that they are getting a good feedback!
3058  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you feel if satoshi back on: April 05, 2022, 12:56:34 AM
What would be your feelings if this happened?[/b]
Probably it would be a lot uncertainty to the whole crypto world because many people would be scared that he could start to sell his bitcoins. And if bitcoin suffers, the whole crypto ecosystem suffers as well. I don't really see any reason for Satoshi to show up again, it's clear why he chose to disappear.
3059  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: imagine a world without Bitcoin on: April 04, 2022, 09:37:13 PM
That brings me to my question "imagine a future without cryptocurrency Bitcoin and a world without digital payments".
Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are one thing, digital payments another, just think about PayPal for example, that has been created several years ago. And even more than moving money around bitcoin gave people the consciousness that they can be their own bank, they can actually own their money without relaying on anyone else. That's for me the biggest lesson I've learnt with bitcoin.

Tienici aggiornati!
