Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are one thing, digital payments another, just think about PayPal for example, that has been created several years ago. And even more than moving money around bitcoin gave people the consciousness that they can be their own bank, they can actually own their money without relaying on anyone else. That's for me the biggest lesson I've learnt with bitcoin. |

Not sure I can ever contribute useful thoughts to how the Bitcoin economy can remain interesting for miners at that stage but I do agree that utility is probably a huge part of any future solution. Do you mean why the miners should still validate transactions at that point? Well, the fees they'll earn should be more than enough as incentive since bitcoin will be extremely rare, and people will be talking about satoshis by that time because the value, probably, will be extremely high. |

per monero, quello default, ovviamente.. potresti usare coinomi se vuoi provarlo ma non ha molto senso Per default intendi dire Monero GUI Wallet? In tal caso, se non ricordo male perché l'ho disinstallato una vita fa, bisogna scaricare tutta la blockchain se non vado errato, quindi bisogna tenere presente che occuperà un bel po' di spazio. Se si ha un pc dedicato per le cripto nessun problema, se uno lo usa anche quotidianamente allora meglio farsi due calcoli. |

Can we assume that around 3 million bitcoins will be lost forever for various reasons? I may still believe that the number will be less or less than 3 million considering some people will be able to get their wallet back sooner or later. But when I envision a market with a number of coins circulating then I believe it will be something very extraordinary in the future.
Maybe not 3 million bitcoin but at least 2 millions yes, I would say those are lost for sure. Those of course include Satoshi's million bitcoin. It's sad that there are some many lost bitcoins, at the same time it just reduces (again) the supply and increases its value and scarcity. |

Difatti avevo specificato "pensando che sia un'edizione limitata" La gente è talmente abituata a credere a qualsiasi notizia, o presunta tale, che legge sui social media che neanche verifica prima di agire. Avevo già letto che qualcuno spacciava questi orologi come edizione limitata, valore da rivendita altissimo, gente che pagava per far andare gli altri in coda etc etc, quando a breve si potranno tranquillamente comprare online. Nel frattempo è stato minato il 19,000,000 Bitcoin.  Mancano solo 2,000,000 di Bitcoin da minare da qui al 2140. Certe volte non si ha idea di quanto sarà importante la scarsità digitale. L'ultimo bitcoin verrà minato in circa 40 anni. Trovo incredibile che la gente si metta a fare ore e ore di coda per comprare un orologio pensando che sia un'edizione limitata però nessuno si rende conto della scarsissima disponibilità di bitcoin. Comunque se dovesse davvero diventare legge una roba simile ci saranno serissimi rischi di sicurezza personale.
Abbiamo visto quanto spesso ci siano leak di dati personali o furti di interi database, immaginate se dovessero rubare una di queste liste dove ad ogni indirizzo c'è associato il nome del proprietario (con facile accesso a indirizzo di residenza su altre tabelle di anagrafica, temo).
Sapere che Plutosky ha prelevato 2 Btc nel 2018 sarebbe un grosso pericolo per lui.
Ma c'è di peggio! supponendo che il ladro conosca il mondo Btc, saprebbe anche capire se quei Btc siano successivamente stati movimentati. Se non lo fossero, vi immaginate quanto sarebbe facile per il ladro convincere la vittima a cederglieli con la banale tecnica del wrench attack ?
Hai voglia a spergiurare che quei Btc non li hai più se il ladro può vedere che da lì non si sono più mossi!
I parrucconi dell'UE hanno pensato a questi rischi ? Difatti questo è quello che ho scritto quando ho aperto questo thread: Questa nuova possibile legge, come dicevo nel titolo, potrebbe mettere a repentaglio la sicurezza di un gran numero di persone in tutto il mondo. Il problema è che qui c'è gente che fa leggi senza avere la minima conoscenza del settore, l'unica speranza che abbiamo è che gli exchange, che stanno protestando parecchio per questa pensata, riescano a fargli capire i rischi che questi parlamentari farebbero correre alle persone in possesso di crypto e alle loro famiglie. Abbiamo leak di dati ogni 2x3, e puntualmente dopo pochi giorni la gente inizia a ricevere sia email che lettere fisiche di minacce e scam, ora vogliono proprio che chiunque sappia che tizio possiede X crypto nel wallet Y e che ne ha inviate altre nel wallet Z. Assurdo. Qui ci sta anche un po' di istinto di sopravvivenza della persona stessa. Se un satoshi nakamoto fa un 730 che finisce nei sicurissimi mainframe dell'agenzia delle entrate, se la va a cercare. A mio avviso è tutto un gioco di pazienza e di giurisdizioni, se le somme hanno senso. A dire il vero io non mi stavo preoccupando dell'AdE e simili ma proprio degli exchange e dei produttori dei wallet, basta vedere il recente caso con Ledger, e pure BlockFi mi pare che qualche settimana fa abbia avuto un hack ai loro database clienti. Discorso giurisdizioni: a meno che uno non sia pronto a cambiare di paese entro 6 mesi, se uno vuole restare veramente col profilo basso vorrebbe dire non fare più trasferimenti da e per exchange già dalle prossime settimane, con tutto quello che ne consegue a livello di mancati guadagni. Se poi uno invece aveva già intenzione di holdare per i prossimi 10 anni a prescindere dal fatto che BTC valga 1-100-100.000 allora è un tema differente. Ma ripeto, in questo caso le dichiarazioni all'AdE sarebbero l'ultimo dei problemi. |

I disagree with the OP on the opinion. Bitcoin is for everyone and there are many use cases for it, on DEX, on CEX, on Peer-to-Peer marketplace, gambling sites, etc. Nothing destroys the true value of Bitcoin. Together, they contribute to bring Bitcoin to the world, to result in better adoption. It's more good than harm.
Exactly, that's a huge point that many people forget because they are too extremist. This kind of internal fights are just bad for bitcoin and the cripto world, we are still at the beginning at the end, do you guys prefer someone who buys bitcoin through a CEX or someone who doesn't buy at all? The knowledge of the DEXs etc will follow. It reminds when I talk with vegan friends who are absolutely against people who are "just" 80% vegan, I think 80% is better than 0%, and people just need time for a certain time of transition but this is our world today, we want something 100% and we want it now. It's just stupid for me. |

To be able to achieve mass adoption, the whole community must understand what bitcoin is, the best bitcoin wallet, how it works and what not to do during bitcoin transactions. after that is achieved, then we can open a shop or service and put the words there "accept payments with bitcoin".
So do you think that the whole world understands how the bank and credit card systems work? Or they simply use it because that's the easiest way (in their opinion) to store and spend money? If everybody needs to completely understand how something works before using it well, good luck with that. |

My is a huge fan of My Little Pony and Disneys Frozen. Think it is right time to tell her about bitcoin mining? I cant even imagine what kind of comparison should I use to make her easy to understand what is crypto. Drawing parallels with sandbox and little shovels as GPU? First years in school are made for learning basics. Teenager age? I think kids are more interested in clothes, sex drugs and rock&roll  I will teach my kid, but dont know when. There is no right age, everyone is different. Of course if the kids are like 5 that's probably too early, but if we're talking about a teenager well, I understand there are a lot of things way more interesting to do and experience at that age, but it's also a good moment to talk about money management, especially if they want to go to some expensive school. |

Imagine how big the market will be if we assume that about 3 million bitcoins are lost forever.
I'm astonished by the fact that people still don't realized what they are going to miss in the next years. Many people think they've already missed the bus, bitcoin is already too expensive, etc etc, we are still so early, there is so much space for growth! |
