Well, when (if) it arrives, I will be putting orders for 50GH/s machines, but I am not willing to risk that sort of money, without a guaranteed return.

By the time that the machines are shipped quickly, there will be so many already mining that it won't be that lucrative to buy one.

Well, the first couple of thousand dollars return will be banked for the next upgrade. I think it's worth re-investing in more machines - and I expect BFL would say that also

I think their 2 month shipping time if you order today is still way off, i don't think you'll get one in 2 months even if you ordered one 2 months ago.

Just logged in to my Butterfly Labs account. Once I got past the login in page, there was a notice that the power consumption specs were different from the ones stated when I first bought the machine. The options were to accept the changes or get a refund. Well, kids, I decide to accept the changes to the hardware specs. It was nice to have been given the option, but I want my Butterfly Labs miner not just to make some bitcoins, but because I want to contribute to maintaining the Blockchain. It would have been nice to have gotten an email telling me to log in to the Butterfly Labs site to accept the changes. Apparently, until you do that, they will hold up shipping. But then, we have waited so long so what is a couple of days. I learned about this from the posts of other people on Bitcointalk. In any case, life is looking brighter. The price of Bitcoin has returned from the recent drop to 85, and Bitfloor returned some money of mine that was in limbo and now, I might actually get my Jalapeno and Single in time for celebrating July 4th!

Anyone actually got a Jalapeno yet?
Yes I have seen two different videos, probably meant for publicity and to quiet the critics and pundits. Search the vids online : )

i know im a newbie but... just came here to share my experience with BFL.inc
just now, not 20mins ago i just received and Ban on their Facebook page. cant write, reply or like on that page at all.
my question? how many orders have been shipped since u said shipping had started?
the reply i got was a link to some guy at Wired.com who took a screenie of his config. akin to the "coding in my sleep" review but this time just a pic on twitter.
again i asked; how many real orders Not review orders?
BAMMMM!!! the ban hammer came down.
so in the morning i will be bypassing paypal and going straight to my bank to get them to deal with this guy. if you put a dispute into paypal for a refund. they will hit u with some spurious charge linked to their terms and conditions. So thats why i will be going to my bank.
goodluck people!

If you're searching these lines for a point, you've probably missed it. There was never anything there in the first place.

I was thinking of buying from BFL for awhile but when I did the math I realized that if they could actually deliver what they promised they would be able to make as much money running one of their jalapenos for a week as they would selling it.
IF they actually had the technology they claim why sell it at all? Why not just mine. After the first week of mining it would be free money and the asics they sell are supposed to use so little electricity that the difficulty would have to go up an awful lot before mining would be unproductive.
When something sounds too good to be true it usually is.
At best these guys are running their company terribly by over promising and under delivering. Continuig to take pre-orders when you are over 6 months behind schedule is not a good business practice.
At worst they are perpetrating a massive scam, always coming up with new excuses why their product is delayed, all the while raking in more money for product they never intend to deliver.
Short term vison. What good is mining your own machines when difficulty will be x 10 in 6 months and maybe x 100 in a year. Much better to take $$$ off miners and let them get on with it. M

yeah that would be an option if; A) they picked up the phone. B) they answered emails. C) didnt ban me in the first place for asking a perfectly normal question. and now of course NOW i have limited options for contact and of an actual conversation, due to the company attitude. they have terminated conversation. i dont know where this guy and his so called team learned to do business. BUT WOW!! i will also be lodging a complaint with the police for them to look into this guy for embezzlement, this stinks to high heaven.

Surely hoping they're not a scam. I did purchase with CC though, so I should be able to chargeback if it doesn't pan out.

Double check your CC policy.... I was thinking the same thing when I thought I might order one, but my CC won't allow me to dispute a charge after 90 days. I know many people are getting refunds from BFL, but considering the production / shipping issues we have seen from them I would have no other recourse then to ask them for a refund if it didn't pan out... One of many reasons I chose not to order from them

Maybe they just need to do some more testing before mass production starts.
