It is incredible how big names in the crypto world can just run away... People is still the weakest link in the chain and even though currency is decentralized everything is still based on trusting someone

Look fincen is acting in 2014 on ripple ? document of a fine for not registering at fincen?
https://www.coindesk.com/fincen-fines-ripple-labs-700000-bank-secrecy-act/
it looks like a registering  is the key word at fincen, so cryptsy was ok according them.

I'm (this is Gleb in case you're not versed) still waiting for you to comment on my LFC et al. post above the fold a tad.

If you don't, then I won't retell the story about the [supposed] first U$1M worth of BTC transaction. Hint: The cake's a lie.

In re the U$153M sum, at one point it was over U$200M not counting BCH, Bitcoin Gold, and all the alts, but rest assured that Paul Vernon is still looking into "The Event" (helluva name for a crypto movie).

I still can't get over how Lorie Nettles was versed in intelligence in the US Army but didn't have a fuckin clue as to what her husband was doin' in spite of her and him owning past entities that scammed their former user base. Hey, maybe Paul took a page out of Sonny Vleisides' book and convinced her that he's "on a good track now."

Further, I'm still taken aback that Jeff Ownby of Sonny's BFL used to work for the same outfit that BitJohn's grandfather founded. What are the fuckin odds with that? The same as Jeff and Sonny operating legit sportsbooks?

And if you think that's crazy, wait till you read about two dudes killing themselves after helping start LFC ran by Sonny and his real dad, James Ray Houston ...

And the four travelers all decided to put their money where their mouths were by becoming founding grantors of  Laissez Faire City and two of them leapt off a bridge just to seal it in style. As I hung there dangling above the river still 100 feet below I reflected that an existing founder had jumped FIRST. Now how many businesses have that kind of chutzpah? Look at what they have to offer and decide for yourself....

Four founders at a bridge including Sonny and his dad. Two jumped. Guess which two didn't.

Don't worry, it gets crazier. Another dude affiliated with LFC supposedly died in Costa Rica. I, among reliable others, believe he's still alive. What was his claim of fame, you ask? This (among others): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Orlin_Grabbe#The_End_of_Ordinary_Money

JOG was also editor of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Orlin_Grabbe#Laissez_Faire_City_Times. Who do you think was the original editor? Hint: Sonny Vleisides.

Now, if you or I ripped off the elderly to the tune of U$50M, what do you think are sentence would be once caught? In Sonny's case, a U$100 (not a misprint) fine and three years probation. What happened when Sonny broke his probation again? Two more years of probation and a promise that he'll end up behind bars. What happened when Sonny broke his subsequent probation?

<insert image of crickets here>

Nothing much happened, have not seen all the reports or news though, follow the legal teams and judges history, you will be surprised at the accusations against these legal representatives

In 2016, the company settled a multimillion dollar legal case for just $15,000, due in part to the limited financial resources of alleged owner Sonny Vleisides.

Obvious Sonny has some backing from some despicable people, So does Paul

These thefts and scams were done by idiots and left evidence everywhere

So why are they not in Jail - back table deals (ohhhh!!! how do we get in on this too - or were in on it)

In matter of fact the thieves lose all control over their lives and are used and used until the money dries up

Only validation in the whole thing

And people gonna lose rep due to association, the internet community does not forget

If anybody wants to go after other thieves - the ones who assist Paul, cryptsy, bfl, sonny etc - follow their handlers

Paul association was with military and fbi - start there

Sonny is with legal fraternity swamp monsters and politicians

...."Grabbe reported that he received information from highly credible sources about unsavory acts made by highly placed persons in the marketplace. He stated that he was approached by official representatives seeking his assistance by covertly gathering financial information from his network of customers."...

...."His research led him to the serious study of cryptography"....

It's amazing the transition.

Everyone including myself refers to the BTC that were stolen.

https://blockchain.info/tx/c7b46a79fd8887038bd3a8e884b04820038415a60e0b9d2c2f5bcff68a2687bf

It's actually the alts he stole that would be worth much more today.

If I'd lost 5 BTC with cryptsy I'd be out around $75,000 USD today.

The 110,000 xrp I lost are now worth $358,600 USD today. Same for many other coins I'm sure.

In all the Lawyers Documents, and this thread, I've never heard how much or what happened to the Ripple.

Why doesn't Paul make a deal with the American law, if it was him I would go to the court asking how many got accepted to the settlement "it is probably way lower than 11300 BTC" go to jail for a year after giving like 9000 BTC's back and after one year he goes out with 2300 BTC's and he can actually walk free around he's own country meeting he's own family? That's of course if it was him + he has the wallet.

Why on earth would he do that?

Right now, he gets to live out his life in another country without spending a year in jail, and if he still has the keys to the stolen bitcoins he could spend them all, any time he wants.

I just thought of something. It's possible that in all of Paul's haste, he accidently rid the private keys with no chance of gaining access to the loot, hence opting for another heist not as lucrative but highly profitable nonetheless.

Unless he's a total fuckin idiot in wanting it all, he's original plan may have been to sit on the original stolen loot, then organically close down Cryptsy with minimum repercussions on his part. But when/if the mega loot was lost, he had to plan and implement another heist.

Just noticed this on the CryptCoin thread. Crypt was the original Scam coin of Cryptsy and now has its coins moved from the Cryptsy address. Not sure if this is real but the Dev is forking due to it...

Yes all transparent blockchains can be traced.

They know this, like I mentioned earlier

They all had help - FBI, Military, Politicians, Lawyers - everybody got their share except for the user

I have been able to confirm this movement of coins post-receivership from my team's analysis of the wallets of Cryptsy's servers. I do not have the ability to know where these coins are currently located, whether in a third party exchange or in a private wallet. The coins transferred after my appointment that are traceable back to Cryptsy include, but are not limited to Earthcoin, Ethereum, Vertcoin, Worldcoin, Primecoin, Mooncoin, T#tcoin, Potcoin, Huntercoin and Ripple. The majority of these coins were likely transferred through foreign exchanges

Thanks for posting. The receiver should really be more active in providing updates on that site. Once per quarter seems rather slow.

hi, i have a question.

I also had some Altcoins on the side.

I registered for the class action in early 2017. After that i heard nothing until today. I have sent a mail die cryptosettlement with the case-number in December. Unfortunately nobody answers ....

Why they cant just send my Altcoins to my other Altcoin account?

Does anyone have an idea what i can do there?

Thank you in advance!

Because this is a bankruptcy case and there is nowhere near the required funds to pay everyone back 100% you will need to wait until the end like everyone else. Bankruptcies are slow at the best of times but even worse when A-holes like vernon delete servers and run away with everyone's stolen funds.

The Problem is, i did the Claim online in 12 April 17. Till now i got zero Mails.

I think my Claim got lost in the Internet or they deleted it immediately...

I just wrote an E-Mail to them again with all the documents i already sent them on 12 April.

But iam sure they wont reply....

If you still hold funds on an exchange and you're not actively trading those funds, you stand to lose it all with no recourse. Get out of Bittrex, get out of Poloniex, and especially get out of Bitfinex.

<insert image of crickets here>

You should have at least received an email saying your claim was declined. If the size of your claim is worth it I would send more emails, letters and also call if you can find a phone number.

what i don't understand, why don't the lawyers focus on the so called wiped servers and stolen coins that were transferred to coinbase and poloniex, try to get that back, transfer it in usd and ask 20%, they will make more money .and everybody would be happy
