I am also a Compac Virgin and have the same problem. Here are a couple of screenshots. I did try adjusting the frequency but it did not help. Any help would be appreciated.

Well what the heck is going on? Every one of these runs on my test setup at 200MHz for a minimum of one hour. Anything that throws errors gets pulled for repair and retesting. Anything that even throws more than expected hardware errors without raising the voltage more than 20mV from bench setting doesn't even get shipped.

I get Kilo17's error when i didnt use zadig and installed the right drivers and also for unknown reason. When it is "unknown reason" it is typically once at boot time which is fixed by hot replugging the stick.

the ones i had have been running pretty stable at 250M since i got them.. but i just got a new hub a superpbag that is supposed to have 2a per port.. it seems that hub cant handle them at 250M.. i dropped them down to 180 and its been pretty stable. maybe i got a bad hub :/

I'm assuming you adjusted the voltage up a bit to hit 250? If not, that could be the problem. 250MHz should only draw about 1.1A at the proper voltage setting, but if the voltage is too low the chip itself erroring out would be your problem.

Using Minera on an Rpi -- going to try running directly from a PC I bought 3 and have tried 2 with the same problem. Haven't tried the third

well I guess karma strikes. I gave away that 13th stick when it died and I hit a block PPC not BTC Funny thing I switch to PPC with the sticks and I hit 2 blocks. Since the 13th one died. One was an orphan the other is pending. 68 coins worth about 0.00115 btc each or 0.0782 btc http://mining.securepayment.cc/pools/ppcoin/list.phpFound Blocks Last 100 Blocks found by this Pool: Only Show Payed Blocks 222754: 2016-02-21 20:23:28 GMT-5 | PV68JwCpM5CGGf9rirFS7weYWXnMeiyCaC | Pending > I should photo the screen 222664: 2016-02-21 06:09:03 GMT-5 | PV68JwCpM5CGGf9rirFS7weYWXnMeiyCaC | orphan

I'm running on a linux server (ubuntu 15.10) that is an old repurposed desktop with a 7-port superpbag hub using y-cables to three sticks.
Each stick is set to about .77 and I see this error with freqs from 250-350 (i don't touch the voltage in between).
The original compac stick has always run on this hub and it never has a problem.
Stick 2121 never initializes in cgminer anymore - the light goes white then green and then stays there. Tried dropping it into a windows machine and no difference. If i take my original stick (268) and toss it onto that same windows box - works great. Stick 2125 generally plays nice but HAS gone off into the weeds once or twice. Stick 268 has never had a problem on any machine / setting.
I have taken 2121 and put it directly into another USB port on the server and jacked the freq WAY down - nothing. I've tossed it onto a windows machine - zadiag and all. Cgminer never can detect it.
such a weird issue.

Wasn't there going to be a no-holds-barred over clock contest? The first OC contest was fun, I'd participate in one of those again. I don't have the know-how to compete in an "ultimate" OC contest, but I'd like to see what other people can do!

So how about a Week to get ready. Single Compac / entrant, no holds barred on PSU, Heatsink Fans etc. Picture of Miner to be posted in this thread. Mine to the old address so that Phil get's the benefit of the Blocks we hit 24 Hour Run, Highest total Hash is the Winner. Rich

Rich Let's shoot for Friday, I think that would be plenty of time to get ready. I think the contest should run 24 hours but the actual runtime needs to be limited to say 5-10 minutes. Hard to do a 24 hour run with extreme cooling
