I used to use bitminter when I had only a few block erupter an antminer U2.
I was starting and their java UI was fun and nice. Then I upgraded to U3 but the java UI doesn't support them.
So I gave up, and used my miner for science (Bitcoin Utopia).
After some time I came back to mining (thanks to gekkoscience compac sticks) and had to learn cgminer and stuff.
I found that kano's pool was simple, efficient and with excellent support.
I just can't find the same amount and level of info on Bitminter's website or thread here (609pages vs 46).
But hey, I'm not saying it bad or anything. I'm very happy where I am with my 2.5Ths (soon 3.5).
I can't see a much better paying pool as kano's fees are prob the lowest....
Kano is a great pool. They have insane luck and only every few weeks do they have problems with finding blocks. Their fees are so low it's incredible that it stays up. I only have 1 compac stick that I just got, and I love it! Best share after 2 days is 30G, and i'm looking for a block within a year. Plus, it runs on cgminer so I don't have to look at some pesky Antminer control panel with no access to cgminer logs or gui. 9/10

Oh and you should switch to kano.s, it's a much better pool. I have my main hash on Kano and my Compac's and such on Bitminter. By the way, the are a lot of pools that have payouts equal to or greater than Kano (except the last few days which have been crazy lucky). I know this is going to start a firestorm but... Eclipse Ming Consortium https://eclipsemc.com/ is excellent. Leaving the BFL matters aside, they have been rock-solid for me since started mining back in Feb. 2014 They have always been a small pool, current hashrate is 907THs. Yes their PPS plan charges 5% but - you get paid no matter how long it takes them to crack a block even if it turns out stale or invalid. Hash rate applied is revised every 15min with the new rate immediately applied to your work with full new hash rate being shown in 1hr. No '5n windup'. If you have an EMC account, payment is upon the kitty hitting your chosen payout trigger, in my case every 0.2 BTC. Kano and Antpool are PPLNS meaning you are paid by average hashrate covering 5n shifts with payment only after the found block(s) mature.I have ran comparisons with them against Kano and Antpool a couple months ago and looking at payouts once the PPLNS windup is over, given 2 weeks or more run time on the pools EMC has ALWAYS come out ahead by ~ 5%. However, as kilo mentioned, Kano has been doing exceptionally well for the past couple weeks. Right now I have ~71TH pointed there and will be doing another spread sheet on the long-term results vs EMC again. That's quite interesting. I LOVE PPS pools, and generally to satisfy that need I go to antpool with their 10-minute blocktimes and low payouts. Lel. I tried eclipsemc for a while and it works well. I tried with a Block Erupter rig at 5gh/s and for some reason no shares were accepted on pps. I got 90 shares but after an hour none were on the website. I tried with a S1 that I keep just for pooltesting and each share was up, accepted, on the mark. Great pool, hates my block erupter but still a better pool than antpool... Just cause. I really dunno about payouts, but to my surprise the payments were nearly equal to my combined antpool payments. Mind. Blown. I guess kano is no longer such a small pool, and I'll keep about 50gh/s on it with loadbalancing on my s3. It deserves attention, and i'll see that it gets it.

As I said, my main pool for the next week or more is now Kano so they get a good average payout/THs applied for at least 3 weeks. Kano hit full payouts for my 5n work there last week so windup is done and payouts are pretty consistent. Still have the Kano miners set to failover to their EMC home. Handy when Kano resets... Last was 3 days ago and 30TH shifted to EMC for 3 hours. Payment for shares ran immediately applied to the running total until trigger is reached. Also keeping 15THs running on EMC to track their average over the same time as Kano.

Rather wandering off the thread and getting distracted here though... On yer Block Erupters, my first 2 miners were BFL's lil' 10GHs Jalapeno's. Loved them and those 2 bastards got me hooked.... Still have them but long off line because that 10GHs takes 60W each. However... pop them open and ya see 10 or more spots ready to accept ASIC's. Believe they can be retrofitted up to around 30GHs per now super-hot Jalapeno...
CGminer would not work with them but BFgminer runs them perfect. Perhaps try it with EMC and the Erupters.

SH#$%! https://i.imgur.com/8jHSzNp.jpgWhen I woke up this morning I found the fan had came off the heatsink of my Compac Miner... the Temp sensor was showing 66C and the CGMiner was reporting 9Gh/s. I soon shut the mining program down and held the fan over the heatsink until the temperature showed about 25C before I moved it. The elastic bands that I had holding the fan on top of the heatsink failed. I decided to remount everything and see if anything had been affected. https://i.imgur.com/iDMkVpx.jpgIt seems to work fine for now with the temperature at 45C. I may have to figure out a better way to mount the fan. Maybe use some balsa(hobby) wood?

Seems to be sold-out everywhere... If they are being sold the prices seem to be much higher than the initial $25USD. holybitcoin.com is selling broken "DEAD" miners???

Well, the manufacturer sells them for $25. Everyone else has the added costs of shipping, and advertising, and some necessary markup to cover their own overhead. Lucky there are no additional middlemen between me and HolyBitcoin and CrazyGuy and such, or prices would be even worse. Stupid middlemen.

I think my Compac may have seen it's last day A while back my compac stick got bent at the USB connector and I gently bent it back. It was running fine after that until a few days ago when it went Zombie on me. I unplugged it, and plugged it back in and windows didn't recognize it nor did cgminer. I unplugged and plugged back in several time and cgminer eventually detected it with "Gekko detect" but it wouldn't mine do I used zadig to reinstall the driver. It started mining away again and I thought all is well. Then came lastnight and it is now just an unknown device after I did a PC reboot. Any ideas on how to get this guy running again and/or how much would it cost to have it fixed if the failure is from it being bent? Thanks for reading.

Maybe resolder the usb connector? it isn't that hard.
