i hear ya. sure, i've been around bitcoin since, what, 2011? but i don't have any. heck, i owe a guy on this forum like 2.4 BTC. i've had a repeated series of unfortunate events happen in the last few years that have left me unemployed and broke as hell.

no idea what the future holds. but it'll be interesting to watch, at least.

i don't post much, but this space for rent.

The world just isn't going to be the same and we have been blessed as the pioneers.
So smart words in such early stage. Six years ago and he forseen it.
Hope he followed his words and become rich man, all early adopters deserve it.
Be smart, be loyal, be bitcoin.

I think it's probably far too late for anyone joining in 2014 to be part of the "wealthy elite". That opportunity existed in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, and early 2013. But not anymore.

That being said, my plan is to get up to 2 BTC. I have about 0.25 BTC now. I'll sell 1 BTC once the price rises enough that I can buy a small house for myself with it (roughly $50,000 per coin should do it). The other coin I'll hodl till the end no matter what happens.

Are you currently putting all your money into bitcoin?  If you say this, you show you believe it by your actions.  I am putting all my money into bitcoin - I see a possibility of $50-$100+ per coin this year.  Just think, once the "bankers" and hedge funds find out about this, we are going to the moon.  Once my bitcoins are $1,000+ I will be able to pay off my growing college loans and maybe get an apartment, and my first car Smiley
After 6 six years of waiting ,this man is already a millionaire with apartments  and a luxury car. Am i right?
Your one example that if you believe ,your price could be so great.
i think six years are not such a long for becoming millionaire people worked day and night but cannot make such a big amount of money in six years. i am pretty confident that if a person will invest in bitcoin right now he will also become millionaire in next few yeas. as bitcoin is still giving chance to people to become rich.

People who understood the potential in crypto and invested in time must have had an "elite" vision that could make them successful. But the case is similar in other business-areas too. People who are able to recognize business opportunities early and able to act in time will always obtain advantage.

Currently speaking, those even holding few dozens of BTC can be considered wealthy considering the value of their money quadrupled since the beginning of 2017, Perhaps few years later we be reaching the highly admired goals of $20,000 or so and bitcoin holders become the new wealthy elite.

A lot of old investors now are wealthy or rich they already made a lot of profit from their holdings or investments and most of them choose to just hold their bitcoin for a long time because they believe that the price of bitcoin can go higher again and that is why bitcoin is getting more demand because of the belief of continuous increase to its price.

I am not hodling because of the belief of continuous increase in its price. I hodl because...well, what else would I buy with my bitcoins? Certainly not dollars which have the built in functionality of losing value over time on purpose. Which everyone accepts as ok.

but still people are there who are holding bitcoin for different purposes, those people are holding bitcoin for playing gambling online using bitcoin. they are also holding bitcoin for online shopping and for transaction of  money from one place to another. and may there may be so many other reasons for which they are using bitcoins.

That's right, even if one is a holder, it's a good idea to give oneself some gratification with small amounts once in a while to enjoy the ride, such as purchasing games on Steam.

This quote from reddit seems very appropriate for this thread:

There can only ever be 21 million people on this planet that will be able to hold 1 whole BTC. If you consider the large exchangers, early miners and whales (just the top 500 addresses hold 4 million BTCs alone, that's not counting the big holders who split into many addresses) I imagine the general public will only be able to get a hold of maybe maybe 8 million BTCs AT MOST. Of those, many will hold more than one. So, I imagine only 3-5 million people on earth will ever hold at least 1 BTC - ever. Considering 7 billion people, you're going to be one of the lucky ones.

Is This The Greatest Bitcoin Arbitrage Ever?

Trading under the ticker GBTC, it is invested exclusively in bitcoin and derives its value solely from the price of bitcoin. According to its prospectus, the Trust's objective is for the NAV per share to track bitcoin's market price...

However, as the chart below shows, while NAV is not far off the price of Bitcoin (multiply the Trust's NAV by 10), the actual traded price of the trust has exploded... to a premium of over 100% in recent days - a record...

GBTC now has a market cap of almost $750 million and offers (for those who can find a borrow) perhaps the greatest bitcoin arbitrage of all time with GBTC trading at a stunning $2000 premium to the underlying Bitcoin it is supposed to track...

Tsss.. if bitcoin was something that you can just find inside old chests on the basement, i wouldve paid to check all basements that i know. Near or far. But really, its still unreasonable to say that we are the new rich. Well, i maen not all can invest, and not all have skills to offer for btc. Some can be hard working and industrious but only few will get lucky, .. so i kinda disagree with the thought of the one who posted this topic.. just a bit tho,

You can be one of the wealthy elite if you are early adopter of bitcoin or if you have a lot of money to buy bitcoin and keep it years in your wallet. Today, bitcoin now has been the playground for wealthy elites Buy then cash it out for huge profits. But for small time investors like most of us. Its even hard to earn even 1 or 2 bitcoin in our wallet. So only a few will really be super millionaires when it come to holding bitcoin.

And that is correct. Those few people who have stayed courageous in just waiting for bitcoin to grow.
It is like they planted a seed and just keep on nurturing it by feeding good feedbacks and inviting more people to invest in it.
Patience is really their key and it is all worth the wait after all that it had been through.

I wouldn't say that some average Bitcoin user is part of elite, especialy not the wealthy one. This term might refer to early adopters and some who hold maybe more than 50 Bitcoins at the moment. Besides Bitcoin wasn't made with purpose to be part of any kind of elite, at least I beleive so.

You're right, but sadly, in this country that i am currently in, people like me don't have the capability to buy bitcoin. Sinply because mine is a poor country and you can only guess that most of the people in it are too. And even when i'd get the chance somehow to have a but of money, i can't just go spend it on bitcoins coz daily needs are a must for me. But if I'd ever have an extra(though i doubt i would), i would gladly buy bitcoins coz i have read a lot about it and i know it really is possible for its price to rocket to the moon and beyond. It has great potential. That's just for me tho.

Even if you are holding BTC50, it doesn't makes you rich as per the standard definition. BTC50 is worth close to $140,000 as per the latest exchange rates. To become a High Net Worth (HNW) individual, you needs a total net worth of at least $1,000,000 or around BTC357 in Bitcoins.
