I don't think the favorite at the beginning of the NBA season wins the NBA championship very often. There have been exceptions like the 90's Bulls or the Celtics in the 80's but for the most part the early favorite doesn't go on to win. Last year I think the Suns were the early Fav and they got smoked.

Yep, the favorites in the regular season really rarely win a championship. There were only 6 times in the last 20 seasons when a top team in the standings won the final series. Here are the teams that were successful in both the regular season and the playoffs: the Warriors in the 14/15 and 16/17 seasons, the Spurs in the 02/03 and 13/14 seasons, as well as the Heat in the 12/13 season, and the Celtics in the 07/08 season. So if a team seems unbeatable in the regular season, it often doesn't matter because things can be different in the playoffs.

Well everytime we expect from the 1st teams in their divisions to win the entire nba but for some reason they get knocked out early . Goldenstate warriors just now wants to get to the playoffs and as we know them they will probobly win it again because they pick up form then

For me Jazz is like a season leaderbut when it comes to playoffs (if they ever make it) I think they'll fail.

Less expectation for the Jazz.

They're always like this, they start the season very well and shows that enthusiasm for the fans but they have no control with it. If they lose, they'll lose.

It's a great start but it seems that the other teams are just way better than them. I cannot blame them on this one but I'm sure many fans have noticed it so as they.

Even they don't have the choker Donovan and Gobert anymore they'll probably not gonna make it with just Markannen and JC with them. I think Pelicans with a healthy Williamson will be though they manage to pull up a win and break that winning streak. I think Warriors and Mavs will ever make it than them, they just waiting for the right momentum.

Yeah, that's very unlikely for them to make it.

That's just sad on their part but it's good to see Zion, a very healthy and talented guy bringing up the team to top. I just hope that they won't just be good at shows during the first phase of the league.

Jazz has been there for a quite a while times but still, needs a lot to be back again.

They tried to compare him with Wembanyama which I really didn't find any significant on gameplay, they are hyping the kid to get huge attention but it didn't justify yet the comparison. But its undeniable that Bol Bol improve this season maybe he need to sustain or improve more his performance and make sure that he's always in good shape maybe those past issues will gone to him 25.6 minutes playing time is decent already so he need to be more consistent to sustain that minutes and got decent exposure on court.

Do you believe that the NBA will have several players with this profile in the future? Regarding your body type, taller than (213 cm/7'0"), fast, with great ball handling and an excellent shot? (for example Wembanyama, Porziņģis (in his prime), BolBol, Holmegreen and others?)

Dont forget KD, we can say it started with him. A guard with the height of a center who can shoot, agile, and ball handling is in a different level, he may be better than most of the guards in the league.

About the question of whether we are going to see players who will have the same type of skills, yes, I do believe we will.
It's a different era now, if you can shoot you gain more chances to be drafted, unlike before when height and body figure is all that matters.
I won't say that it's not a dominating factor anymore as we still have Giannis, Jokic, and Embiid who are dominating the league but shooting is always a big plus.

For sure it's going to hurt them. But they still have Jordan Poole and Klay Thompson as you have said to carry the load for them. Lest we forget, they still have the championship DNA so don't count out the defending champion.

We are not even half of the season, so maybe once Curry is back, or even without him, they can still continue to win least improved their standing from 10th to 8th or maintain it and don't let slipped to 10th-12th. So that when Steph goes back, then can still make a great comeback before the end of the regular season.

Curry not being available has long term problems for them as well. First of all this is shoulder, which means that for a shooter that could be one of the worst after wrist and hand injuries, like a foot one for example is not that bad, albeit Klay shows maybe foot is important too. However, there is also the fact that they will not be able to seeded first, with Curry there is a possibility, without him? There is no chance, and for the next few weeks he will not be there and they will end up losing and that will cause a trouble during playoffs because it will mean that they will face harder opponents.

Thompson isn't playing, Wiggins and Curry now have injuries and the team is 2-13 on the road. It seems that the team is struggling especially on the road.

I will not be surprised if they will make trades near or after all-star game because it seems that their defense is one the most awful ones right now in the league. It's very unfortunate as well to see Curry getting injured because he's the one carrying the team and scoring almost half of the team's total points until that injury, and he will miss a few weeks. Poole has been inconsistent as well, but I agree with you that him and Thompson as well as other role players must step up both offensively and defensively if they want to enter the playoffs and defend their title.

For a team playing for the championship, it is very important to win away, but Golden State has drawn a very, very bad away graph at the moment. He also lost to Indiana last night. I think Stephen Curry did his best, but it wasn't enough. Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State, which seem strong as a team in the NBA this year, are in disgrace on the road, but unfortunately, these two teams are in disgrace. This will be very challenging for GSW without their main superstar. They are already struggling and if they will only win 1 out of every 4 games without Curry, it might also mean that they can give up their goal to defend their title this season. But we never know, maybe all of a sudden the team will step up along with its young players.

Not sure though that they will just give up this season and not push themselves to defend their title. I think it could only be Poole, Kuminga, Wiseman and Moody that can probably shine in the absence of Steph.

But still though the veterans like Green, Klay Thompson and Looney is needed for them to get over and win games without their top scorer. I do agree that Klay should be the first option now and then Jordan Poole. They should be the 2nd version of the Splash Brothers at least in the absence of Curry.

Or it's just that the players themselves are evolving to be a complete one.

I mean very tall obviously, they can get rebounds, and then we have from players coming from Europe centers that can shoot 3's. Now we tall, lanky that can shoot and then defend like Rudy Gobert and can dribble like a point guard.

So it's the best combination that we never heard or seen from a player. New unicorn are emerging in like every 5 years now we have Wembanyama or even Bol Bol who has been really hot in the last couple of games.

And so is Draymond Green's contribution for them, defense and he is cerebral player and instrumental of getting Durant but probably one of the reason as well for him leaving the team. But they proved everyone wrong when they won last season and Curry getting the MVP.

I think if I would to choose between the two, I might stay with Klay and give him the max contract.

But that's just me though, still up to the management what will be their decision in the end.

The highlight that Bol Bol just made is downright dirty. He went on a full court break and dunked through the lane while juking 3 Hawks out of their socks. Check it out on Twitter to see it. He’s currently trending as a result. I can’t believe he didn’t get more playing time before the trade. I know he’s probably gotten better as a player but it’s clear he has major skills that go beyond a year of growth on the basketball court.

It's a travelling violation but... who cares. It's the NBA and they don't call travelling violations especially when a player is on a fast break.
Removing the violation, Bol Bol is the one who is rising now on the Magic who is now on a 5-game winning streak.

Many are eyeing on Wembanyama because of how versatile he is but can we just look on how Bol Bol is playing. He can pass, he can defend, he can make fastbreaks, he can shoot, he's tall. He's like a Giannis version 2.0 or well it isn't that close still but give him more time and he can develop his skills even further. The problem that I'm seeing is his body frame. Since he's very thin compared to other 7-footer big players out there, he's more prone to injuries.

Forget Wembanyama and don't overhype that kid. We already have Bol Bol who is rising right now, and he can also do the things that Wembanyama can do (or at least most of them). He might be included in the Most Improved Player as long as he will not get injured the whole season and TBH, he might win it if he will be a candidate.

If Curry can't play for 2 weeks, it would be a really big opportunity for other players. If they lose a match because Curry is not playing, they will suffer a huge loss, so the players who will replace Curry must show a very high performance.

To be honest, All Star matches are not as enjoyable as they used to be, the most wanted players in the voting system are not my favourites.

None of them made a huge step up this season except Stephen Curry, this time, the best 3-pointer in the league is said to be out for a while like 3-4 weeks then that gives time for Thompson and Wiggins to shine. Both of them should work to balance things, and there's Poole and the rest of the roster to help them while Curry won't be around.
