I'm curious who you guys would list as your top 5 players in the world right now? I think you've obviously have to include
Giannis Antetokounmpo, Luka Doncic, and Kevin Durant.  But after these three, I feel like it's pretty hard to round out the top 5.  I feel like Lebron is still in this category, although of course getting pretty close to longer being there.  But who else would you guys choose to round out your top 5?

I picked Tatum over Luka because of how his performance impacts his team not only this season but all throughout his whole career. The remaining has already an all-star for a long time and all 4 of them are a future hall of famer.

I have Lebron and Davis who are in one team because they are playing great basketball, can't deny that Lebron is a hall of famer and he is still the king of basketball. Comes playoffs time, Lebron will be in beast mode and that will give their team a good chance of winning.

Another case of players taking advantage of the rare opportunities given to them. I'm honestly glad that vets like Mills and youngsters like Thomas suddenly puts up big numbers. It's refreshing and hopefully that continues for the sake of the club. People are getting tired of the toxicity around their "big 3".

Patty Mills, after being acquired by the Brooklyn Nets is being forgotten. I don't see him much in the rotation because they are using isolation plays for either KD in the first unit and Kyrie in the second, Mills doesn't work on that kind of play unlike in Spurs where the ball always rotates.
I'd like to see if Jacque Vaughn will use this unit again later and check its effectiveness even when the big 3 is back against the Wizards.

Back to the old line up and style of play. Mills benched while Thomas had decent time but limited to a few shots apparently.Those two will have to wait for another injury or rest for KD and Kyrie before they could play freely again hehe. Still not a bad decision for the coach I guess since the main guys did deliver and they got the all important W.

Looks like back to back losses for the Celtics. Losing big against the Warriors and Clippers then facing the Lakers next. This could be three in a row.

Pistons versus Lakers was a really interesting match. Bogdanović tried his best to have a result in favor of the Pistons. But he did not have much support. His team tried, but one man can only do so much.

Looks like the Lakers made an offer to try and get Bogdanovic from the Pisons but it seemed to be a cash and picks offer.  Seemingly a good deal for the Pistons as they are in rebuild mode and this trade would probably result in them having the worst record in the NBA this season, which is what most teams want to happen so that they can have a chance at the number 1 pick next year.  All eyes seem to be on Victor Wembanyama so I could actually see this trade happening in a crazy way.  Surely they would give up Bogdanovic for Victor Wembanyama if given the opportunity, so maybe the extra picks will be able to get them on board.  I would like this move from the Lakers.  Would be the first good trade they've made in years.

The Pistons might decline the offer at least on what I see and Bogdanovic is playing right now. Bogdanovic is a very good three-point shooter and if you just watch the NBA highlights of the game, he is also a good catch and shoot three-point shooter like Klay Thompson. Bogdanovic's value isn't worth only cash and pick offer. He can be a reliable scorer in every team, and we've seen it already when he's on the Jazz. If the Lakers really want Bogdanovic, at least increase the offer.

Pistons are one of the worst teams right now in the season and also add the fact that Cade Cunningham will not play this entire 2022-2023 season because of an injury: LINK. This increases the chances of the Pistons to be at the bottom spot again after the end of the season thus, increasing the chances of getting the top 1 spot and getting Wembanyama.

This is a scary team, with Leonard getting 100% soon, this team is gonna be a great contender of winning the NBA championship.

Celtics already suffered a two losing streak, 1 from the Warriors, now against the Clippers.

Joel Embiid scored 53 points and grabbed 12 rebounds against Hornets, which is an excellent result and he has a very good overall record, averaging 38 points in the last 10 games. Against Utah, this season he also scored 59 points, Philadelphia won that game 105-98, and Joel scored more than half of all points. He said after the game with Hornets, that the ball itself found me, but it is clear that the players try to play with him if he has a good game.

This game was won by Joel Embiid alone, as he single-handedly gave his team, the Philadelphia 76ers, the victory. Watching the game at times, it felt like he was the only one on the court. In my opinion, he was the one who was really dictating the game. It seems to me that almost every time he was in the right place at the right time, I would agree with this statement. In addition, it is also very true that when his teammates saw that he was absolutely unstoppable, they also helped him by giving him more opportunities & giving him the ball more.

Last year there was a close MVP race between him Jokic and Giannis. One advantage Jokic has is that he remains consistent while Joel went down and got injured and so he didn't win the Award. But if he continues his performance like this and not be injured, I think he has a high chance to win this year no doubt.

He has a good supporting cast as well, lead by Harden and the Melton and Milton and Tobias Harris.

Gonna be a good Eastern showdown as who will be the team to beat with the Bucks (although they lost) and the Celtics as well.

Yeah, like also what happened with the Lakers. When both AD and LeBron are healthy, they made a good winning streak,

We might see more winnings with them or expect a good streak for them with Leonard having

Clippers will always have that chance to move forward and chase for the title.

Chances are there but their main problem is if they can sustain there stars to be healthy since both of those guys are injury prone so maybe they should focus to make them stay healthy and get those chance to chase the title they want. Clippers is undeniable good but consistency is what they need so maybe they should think about more strategic ways to make their stars available especially on their important games.

Let's not also forget the 2 time Kia MVP, Nikola Jokic who averages almost a triple-double per game.
How about SGA?
One of the top offensive players in the league. His defense is also not that bad as he averages almost 2 steals per game.
According to stats though, it's Ja Morant in the 5th spot, Jokic on top of him, and Shai somewhere in the top 10. But I like his impact on the OKC Thunder, they are not far behind thanks to his consistent game.

The stats would really favor Doncic because it seems Dallas Mavericks is currently a 1-man team. Whereas Tatum had another superstar and very reliable teammates to share the stats. In the end, the panel members will be the main decision-makers since voting is just a small chunk of the percentage. They will also consider the overall team performance in which the Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks showed consistency.

We still have 50 or more games and we hope everyone stays healthy. Maybe other names will appear like Steph Curry if he continues his stats and if Golden State Warriors will start their own win streaks to finish strong.

We have Milwaukee Bucks versus Golden State Warriors later and I am sure it will be entertaining. Draymond Green is probable to play but I doubt he will miss the game. They need him on this one to defend Giannis below the rim especially with Wiggins on the bench who is still healing from his injury.
Klay Thompson should step up his game again like the one he did versus the Boston Celtics. Bake them early and get his rhythm going, Jrue Holiday will be in front of Curry and that will make it difficult for him to score.

Davis was bothered by numbers of injuries which requires him to sit for quite longer period than regular injuries, but the good thing about AD is that, he never is afraid to put his body on the line that would potentially put him in the same situation, just to have a better performance every game, which is effective for the Lakers. If AD scores and grab more rebounds, the Lakers tends to have a higher winning percentage.
Also, the Lakers will also have a higher percentage of winning if Westbrook assist more than scoring.

The unwritten rule part is why it was such a message for Zion to do it. He’s the new bully in town and CP3 can’t do a thing about it. Chris Paul also deserves a suspension for that slimy elbow he threw after the dunk. I am honestly fed up with Chris Paul and embarrassed that he’s on my home town team. The Nets are now number 4 in the East. Just like that. Another example of a strong 2nd unit that beat the Pacers yesterday without Kyrie, KD, and Ben.

That's an impressive performance for the 2nd unit of Nets. They are really proving that they are competitive and they did it in a surprising way, teamwork and trust each other.

It's good to see a team who wins without relying on their superstars, as you mentioned your
what if, for the Lakers, getting that point, they should play the system together and start
doing it as early as now. They are all pro and deserve to play with decent minutes.

Easier said than done because the Lakers are really struggling in that part, some of their days, they are at their best and some of it, they are at their worst. No consistency that is why they still failed to work their team up on the ladder, with no superstars like Lebron or AD onboard in any given game, it's expected that the Lakers will crumble.

No matter how hard AD or LeBron carry the team, they still won't reach that far if the rest won't be on their best because when the league gets more intense, they will left behind against a well synchronized team. I'm afraid it will happen to them what happened last season if they won't pull themselves together to improve.

You're right. Embiid was really close to winning his first MVP title last season. However, if you check the stats, you can see that Embiid is a good scorer, but he is clearly inferior to Jokic in terms of rebounds and assists. As an example, Jokic made 19 triple-doubles last season, while Embiid only made 2 triple-doubles. I think that was one of the main reasons why Embiid didn't win the MVP title last season. The fact is, he's a less versatile player compared to Jokic.

Seriously nobody could predict their injuries along the way hehe. Anthony Davis won't be as effective if he will starts caring about his situation because his position also dictates its risks which I think almost inevitable. Moreover, Davis's build is not like the other sturdy centers on the league now, he may be look buffed but his build is not that really strong and that is exactly the reason I see why he's getting serious injuries even at a young age.
