They are on a rebuilding process; they do not have much of a star that the other teams have and yet they are winning. If they are hit by injury, their system will fail since they do not have much stars to begin with. But you have to give them credit for having a system that works against star-filled teams. They bring back the good old days of basketball where the game is played as a team and not relying on superstars iso gaming or hero ball. They are fun to watch. If this system is sustained, they will be very strong once their roster is complete with stars/superstars that will work with the system they have.
I really hope they do and I think Jazz has the chance to even make it to the playoffs this season. As much as I want to see the good old days that it doesn't rely on superstars, I don't think that it will come to an end these days, I think it will go on from here on out.

When Lebron James can not play and have an injury, many in the Lakers have to stand up in their game Anthony Davis has a great time dealing with the defense and offense inside while Russell Westbrick is showing what he can still do, while I have seen Austin Reaves making progress for the team, if this continues I think Lebron James would like to have companions to rely on because right now I really think Lebron James doesn't care anymore, maybe he is more focus on getting that dumb record to be break than to win the game, for me pretty much with or without Lebron Lakers have now know their chemistry,
That's what Phil Jackson said and maybe he was correct on saying he has more hope to Westbrook than him.

The Lakers got themselves a nice win over the Damian Lillard-less Portland Trailblazers. LeBron James and Anthony Davis both had big nights.

The Cleveland Cavs got another win over 76ers. They beat them by 28 and have the 5th best record in the league now. Biggest surprise of the season for sure. I thought they’d be tanking for the draft.
Well, there's Austin Reaves too who has the highlights of the game, especially that baseline drive and then reverse layup. Something we could only see done by stars and yet he made it happen. 22 points for him and helped make it a fast-paced game where they are more productive.
Then, PatBev too also contributed to their defensive stance. All of them worked pretty hard to be able to get the W.
Consistency is what they need now. They should keep on being aggressive on both ends of the floor, even if the Trail Blazers are Dame-less they are still a strong team that should never be underestimated.

Only 1 game tomorrow. Pistons vs Mavericks.

They cannot do that unless they don't have the all-stars in their team playing this season because it will be obvious if they gonna do it that way. They can still catch up when they are winning like this because the other teams that were winning in the first phase of the season, are now losing and giving every low-rank team to catch up and have their chance to be in the playoff. If the Lakers can still win more games than lose the remaining games of the season, probably they can be in the top 5 or 6 in the NBA playoff tree.

Yes, I also thought that the Jazz is going to tank this year because of the trades that they have made. Not just for the players, but they changes their coach as well. But everyone is shock when the players they acquired when they trade Mitchell and Gobert is somewhat performing very well and blended instantly to the Jazz.

And then Clarkson having a good game as a Jazz and for sure they made the right decision not to trade him as probably he will turn out to be the leader of the team now. Lakers will be the Lakers though, they will have to find win again with Lebron leading them. And even without Lillard, still considered as a good win.

I would be so happy if we talk more about the Jazz, after a long losing streak, they are probably going to a good win streak as they have already activated it. Clarkson had a decent 33 points in the game against the Clippers, and you can tell that they are moving the ball well with hi on the floor, his unselfishness is the exact opposite of Mitchell's performance when he was with the Jazz.

I agree with you, the Cleveland Cavaliers are one of the most interesting teams this year. Their performance so far is very good, they have managed to win almost as many games as the Bucks. When we look at the Bucks' roster, we see that there are much better players, but I can't say that there are as many good players in the Cleveland Cavaliers.
This means that it is possible to be one of the best teams in the league without the big star players Smiley

They need to bring that consistency in the playoffs as they will face strong team which have better playoff experience. I know that Mitchell has a lot of playoffs experience, but his experience is not good as they have not reach the Western Finals when he was still with the Jazz, Clippers are even better than team as they beat the Jazz without Kawhi.

Yes, I'm also expecting that this time around they will make sure that they are more competent and much more ready than what they had last season. I know that they aren't expecting like that to happen last season that they will participate in the Finals but with the dedication they had, they managed to climb the ladder and almost defeated the scorching Warriors. Look at them now, the Celtics leads the whole league and not just the conference, they got the most games won and least games lost.

If ever the Warriors and the Celtics will have a match-up in the Finals again, I bet the Warriors will fail this time because they almost got no defensive players left while the Celtics got the same roster and much more experienced this time around.

Well like in the previous Season the Golden State Warriors don't need to be in the top standing they just need to get in the playoffs, and showcase what they really can do, for me I still have hope for the Golden State Warriors in pretty much making it even the finals, right now James Wiseman is on the Santa Cruz Warriors the G league, this is to ready him in coming back to the Golden State Warriors again, and to hone his skill in the G League, While Jonathan Kuminga is rising up to the occasion and if this continues this 19 years old will likely become a great asset for the Warriors, in becoming a mini Giannis Antetokounmpo, for the team, that frequently shooting outside, if this continues and Steve Kerr would likely let him play a couple of minutes I think that he will show most of his potential inside the court, And I am sure excited for this Warriors team than the last season,

I understand that you look at the Warriors that way and seems interesting for you to see that they are taking their time to prepare their players, and for the record, I have no doubts at all that they can still reach the playoffs this season. But, I doubt that they will have that chance to at least defend their title on the Finals, not with the current roster they have now. We never know, at the end of the day, only one of us will get it right Wink

Speaking of the Bucks roster, it looks like Khris Middleton will be back in the lineup for them this Friday against the Lakers. It’s been a long time since the Bucks have had their #2 player. It will certainly make them better.

How about DeAndre Ayton lately? He’s playing like a man possessed. Him and Devon Booker put on a show last night being the first Suns teammates to ever score 50 and 30 in the same game!

I guess DeAndre Ayton deserved the max contract he had, the management was right for giving him a big salary despite his young age. One thing I see that makes Ayton more productive is his chemistry with his teammates, they seemed to have great communication and Ayton knows how to position well that's why he can also grab some offensive rebounds.

They lose some of important players which can play tight defense and give them quality plays also with good shootings so I guess that is huge loss for them which might give them a problem on this series. I also doubt if they can defend their title this season but still probabilities are their since there are lot of time to develop their young players and might they can contribute good numbers at the playoff series. GSW is very well known to be good on developing their players so we might see some surprising performance coming to their rookies.

Oh, that's true about Ayton. All changed after CP3 was injured. I guess someone pushed him that he should step up his game now that they need help badly both in offense and defense. He became dominant in the paint, scoring is not a problem anymore as long as it's in near the rim. Rebounding stats soared and he has more confidence. Phoenix Suns will have better chances now to be a champion if he will be able to keep this up.
He is learning, gaining experience, and that extension will be worth every dollar.

The next 10 games for the Lakers would be a tough one as they will once again face those teams above .500 just like how they started the season. Somehow, I've seen a better improvements and a good bounce back tonight against the Blazers. I thought they're gonna blow out another huge lead again.

I looked up on their upcoming games and just like you said, they will be having tough games until next month. The Charlotte Hornets is only the team that I can see that they won't have much hard time playing with but before that, they will have to endure a lot of tests to see if they are indeed improving this year or they are much worse than last season. Their game earlier wasn't that hard because Lillard wasn't there, they just had a nice game before the tough games ahead.

Too bad news and sad for Matt Ryan, he's going to be waived on December 15 to open a spot for another Lakers player to get in.
Source: Lakers News: Matt Ryan Being Waived To Open Up Roster Spot Ahead Of Dec. 15
It wasn't that long since he's been part of the Lakers, right? And now, he's being the option to be waived so that another one comes in that might take them to have better days. I don't like this decision on them.

It is not what you like or don't like, it is what the Lakers need. Even if he is just 2 days with the Lakers, if they need to waive him then, it is what it is. They are professionals and they know this happens. It is just bad that it happened to him. His agent can find him another team to play with.

The Lakers really need change in their roster since they are not performing well. They need defensive players. If waiving Matt Ryan is the key to get a player that fits the Lakers needs, then they should do it. Who do you think will replace Matt Ryan's spot in the Lakers?

Team basketball is what makes GSW win the games. They have star/superstars but the rotation of the ball is not what we normally see on star-centered teams. Players move around without the ball while the ball rotates in the court. And the shooters if well positioned and not defended will have a shot at the ball whether they are stars or not. I am seeing the same play style in the Kings and Jazz, only on a level that is not that high as the Golden State and Curry does. It is a tod lower than the GSW plays, but I know someday it will get into that level. The roster of Sacramento Kings or Utah Jazz will accumulate enough experience to play team basketball as high as the level of GSW.

He's a career 37.1% from 3PT line and in the current era where more people are shooting threes, that's a high percentage IMO.
Too bad that he doesn't been given enough minutes. He is only given 10.8 minutes per game on average and that's too low.

I thought that his buzzer beater three against the Pelicans will be his breakthrough and he will be given more minutes, but I guess I'm wrong. I just hope that another team will give him maybe a short-term contract just to try. He's a decent to good three-point shooter so teams who's focusing on threes more might get him... or not. For the Lakers, I just hope that they will get better player to replace him, or they will receive more criticisms aside from the ones that are facing right now.
It's short notice and really felt bad for him. But this is business, this is the other side of being not the mainstay of an NBA team, even the superstars are having a hard time having that secured contract with the teams that they're part of.
I just wish him that he'll get a better offer and another team that's good at taking care of their players. NBA is a business and whoever wants to have a secured spot and contracts with their team, they really have to stand up whenever they've been given a chance.

Yes, at least when he is with the Lakers, he has that kind of game that we can remember of it. And 10 minutes per night might not be good to show your skills in the NBA. Unfortunately, that is business, Lakers need to adjust as early as this day because they don't want to experience what they've going through last season, no adjustments whatsoever. Hopefully, the one that will replace Matt Ryan could contribute even more as Lakers are slowly finding their groove with Lebron back and healthy and then AD having MVP statistics and WB slowly settling down as 6th man.

The move they did seems clear enough that the Lakers will be pursuing that Buddy Hield/Miles Turner trade, it's just sad that Matt Ryan will be the sacrificial lamb to get what the management wanted even though he's giving the team a good production despite the few minutes per game he had. Well, business is business and there's nothing we can do about it. I'm just surprised that Austin Reaves was among the players who were given a non-guaranteed contract, meaning they can also cut him off whenever they want.

Winning against Portland that already traded away CJ a while ago, and didn't had Dame neither means that Portland had basically nobody. They are basically tanking at this point and that's a shame and a sad situation for them that they couldn't get anything with Dame, I think a conference finals at the best and that's it?

But right now, they had nobody when they lost to Lakers. Having a big night, even a career night, against such a team is not something to be proud of, they were playing against some g-leaguers and they won, that's not a success at all. Hopefully Lakers will one day get better, but that year is not this year and they will keep being terrible again.

Interesting to see what happens I expect a hail Mary that will cripple the Lakers future but they need help now not in 2027 or 2029 with those 1sts.  I imagine a player or 2 amd some draft picks getting fleeced from the Lakers for someone just don't know who.  After this run the Lakers might end up in a 5-7 year rut, they have no capital going forward to maneuver.

I don't know about the Hield/Turner trade, it has been rumored even before the season start and the Lakers didn't bite on that trade.

So what it makes them go now? Or maybe they are doing some experiment with Austin Reaves, and when they see that it is not working, then they just decided to cut him or whenever they want. Yeah, I think players know that, especially those who sign for non-guarantee contract.

So as far as the trade rumors again on Hield/Turner, let's see.

Their game earlier wasn't that hard because Lillard wasn't there, they just had a nice game before the tough games ahead.

they need to keep winning and keep finding the right sets of players that will help LeBron and Davis to win the game, we see the contriutons of their role palyers.

I can say that they are getting some improvements, and if they will continue playing like this
the winning chance is possible even facing tough teams.

Adjustment and willingness to work with the system that may fit them all to play as one.

Tomorrow 13 games. Trail Blazers will play again and now it's versus the LA Lakers. High chance the Lakers will get the W here in a blowout game.

They are already winning games, although again, they won on a team without their superstar in Lillard. But the Lakers are still below the .500 mark in a very competitive West. They still need to go to at least the 6 spot to be able to go to the playoff.

Yes, very early, but who knows, LeBron and Davis might stay on the sideline again so just take advantage that they are healthy and continue to win games.

Or if they think they need to improve then probably trading or acquiring new role players will be a good options.

I just saw a post on facebook regarding the Jazz, they are 8-0 at the start while 2-8 now in their last 10 games. Question is, are they in trouble already? How important is Conley to be back in the team? Without him will the Jazz failed to reach the playoffs?
