I still think that Simmons should be a better shooter by now but I actually like this if it's going to happen. Coach Pop loves team plays more than individual skills/performance that's why it could be a perfect fit for both. I just don't know what Sixers want out of Spurs to agree with the trade. Like what @Reid said, it seems like SA have nothing much to offer.
Yeah, maybe coach Pop can developed Ben even more specially his shooting as we all know that Pop has the ability to motivate players and bring the best of them. But SA has nothing to offer though in the table if they decided to trade, maybe a future draft picks but as far as the current lineup, not sure if Sixers are interested on anyone one of them. So the saga of Ben still continues, no one is taking the bait so far If anyone can improve Bens shooter that would be Chip Engelland who is the shooting coach for San Antonio Spurs for the past 16 years or so, he is the one who fixed Tony Parkers shooting most famously back in the day and even helped Kawhi to gain some shooting as well. So, I think if anyone could help Ben become a decent shooter it would be him, however I do not feel like Ben would be ready to give it a go psychologically, dude has been a horrible shooter all his life forever and people mock him for it, people even leave him wide open on the three point line and because of that dude lacks the scoring numbers that he could had if he was guarded a bit closer. What the f**k? I didn't know the Chip Engelland was the shooting coach of Spurs. Thanks for the info mate. For those Filipino out there, I'm sure a lot of you are posting in this thread, Chip Engelland become naturalized Filipino citizen and play for the Philippine National Team in the 80's. Damn, I'm really that old. . Chip was known to be a good shooter back in the days, I consider his shooting touch like Oscar Schmidt, another great basketball player and shooter from Brazil.
In any case, then Ben has a bright future as Chip could help him fix his shooting form and could vastly improved if he move to San Antonio with coach Pop at the helm.

That's the problem with NBA now, they exaggerated highlighting the offensive players leaving the defensive ones no room to be superstars.
Yeah, there's no more Dennis Rodman or Ben Wallace, more on offensive scoring champ who can contribute a lot. Someone who agreed with me, I didn't expect that but thank you bro. Ben Simmons is really at the spotlight now and articles are being made left and right. https://www.nbcsports.com/bayarea/warriors/draymond-green-trade-table-warriors-ben-simmons-interestListening, after all, does not necessarily equate to interest. According to league sources, any interest the Warriors might have in Simmons is conditional. In short, they’re not that interested as long as Draymond Green is on the roster. I don't think the Warriors could make a deal with him. Draymond is the core of GSW and putting another playmaker like Ben might become a problem for them unless he accepts to be in a 2nd team, give way for Green or a roleplayer rebounder. That will not be a joyful place and I think he won't like it too and will just look for another trade next year. He should look for a place where he could be the core just like how Draymond is being highlighted whenever GSW runs for offense and defense.

^ Yeah, and the only teams that can make Ben stand out is, I don't know how I'm going to call it but "second tier team" right now, those who didn't make the playoffs last year or sort of looking for a franchise player. He can't squeeze himself around to top teams like GSW, no, I don't think it will work it out. Maybe teams that in the borderline playoff bound, but didn't make it by just a game or two. And maybe Ben can be a perfect fit to elevate that team and will be a challenge to him as well and forget his Sixers playoff performance.

Someone who has played the sport long ago and still nurturing current players surely knows the fundamentals and how it can be effective in the modern game. I hope Ben's agent pursue this trade. He will also benefit if Ben becomes a better and more confident shooter.

Teams like Sacramento Kings maybe? How about the Raptors? What else? Rockets or OKC? I think Simmons is a leader-type player but because he is still young no one portrays him like that. Good news for Clint Capela. https://twitter.com/wojespn/status/1433094202745839616?s=20Atlanta Hawks center Clint Capela has agreed on a two-year, $46M extension, sources tell ESPN. But in this era, shooters are the norm and no more of a Magic Johnson or John Stockton assists style.
So he really need to learn to shot otherwise, no teams are going to get him. Not to force him, but to let him know that importance of free throws and making it as it spells the difference between winning and losing. Giannis is a bad shooter in free throws, but you can see that he is trying his best even at three points. Unlike Ben who haven't even try to shoot for three because he is afraid that he will missed it.
This is why Shaq cried when Giannis took the championship. The game changed a lot but what brought the Bucks to the championship is a star who specialized in inside offense. Yes, I agree it's the norm now but that doesn't mean a high percentage shooting team will always be on top. Defense is also one of the key in winning games and Ben have that. He is tall, he is fast and can steal the ball and I bet coaches who focus with defense will try their luck with this guy. That's the problem with NBA now, they exaggerated highlighting the offensive players leaving the defensive ones no room to be superstars. Yeah, I agree with you in certain points, of course defense win, we have seen that formula in the 90's with Detroit team. So defense will always be there no matter what. But shooting free throw is one part of the equation, imagine you playing good defense but you can score in the line, ouch. I guess that's the problem with NBA right now, players like Steph and Dame are being highlighted because of their offense. But to be a superstar, you really need to separate yourself from the rest, you need to be a complete player. Look at Harden, winning MVP because of his offense, but poor defense. Imagine Ben with good defense already can shoot 3's and free throws.

What a mess the covid/vaccine situation in the States regarding the NBA championship. As you know, NBA players are not forced to get vaccinated but, with the new restrictions for the those who haven't been jabbed in force in some cities, the story could change: in cities like New York and San Francisco those who haven't been jabbed, in fact, won't be able to enter the local arenas and sports facilities. The NBA will follow the various cities' rules on vaccine requirements and this could create a great mess!

Good to hear that, after his Houston days, now he is getting what he deserves. He is their center and one of the best in the league so it's a win-win for Atlanta to keep the core team intact and who knows, if Trae Young wasn't injured, they could have gone a bit further. As far as Ben's saga goes, yeah Sacramento Kings will be a good fit for him. Just a change of atmosphere, but this is what he needed for sure.

Spurs also do not have too many shooters in the team right now, they are getting better over course of years because they are young and learning, but another non-shooter on the team doesn't feel like what they need. I can imagine how Simmons will be on the team like Spurs whose the roster right now isn't the best. A team of average players being coached by a veteran coach. It might help the team at least a bit since they got a veteran coach that has lots of experience. Maybe 2-3 years we might see one of them becoming an all star and many more . Simmons' shooting especially the free throw shooting are one of the worse in NBA history (even worse than Shaq and we know how terrible Shaq is at FT shooting ). Putting him into a team where there are already a lot of shooters will cover his lack of shooting ability. Teams like Warriors or Jazz or even the Suns might be the best teams for him to be with but it seems like they don't like him. I don't see Simmons going to the Spurs too so.. I'm still waiting confirmations into where he will land .

Eventually, the NBA will set a standard that everyone has to follow, and probably that includes everyone should be vaccinated so the season will not be compromised. I'm not sure if it's against human rights, but with the new virus mutating, I think the NBA will be forced that everyone should get the vaccine, otherwise, players will not be allowed to play. The NBA will follow the various cities' rules on vaccine requirements and this could create a great mess!
If they will protest it will create a mess, but if not, then nothing to worry about as vaccine is protection to everyone.

Suddenly, they now become one of the competitive teams in the East unlike before that they are not included in the discussion. With that performance, Clint deserves that treatment it's a win-win for both ends, a good center who can really play well. He helps that rally, bringing Hawks to the conference finals, that trademark he continues to be developed. That same play with Harden way back. when he still playing with the Rockets. Now, it's Trae who's feeding him and still converting. Just a good pass and let Clint take care of it up above the rim.

Capela has nothing to prove anymore, he played his role very well in the playoffs so we can still expect the same if the Hawks will again enter in the playoffs.

Capela has nothing to prove anymore, he played his role very well in the playoffs so we can still expect the same if the Hawks will again enter in the playoffs.
Back in Rockets, he also plays a big role why Rockets always end up in a good position every season but the team just lacks at the playoffs run. With Hawks, I think that was the first time Capela first experience playing in the Conference Finals. Now with a much competitive Eastern Conference, the battle will be more tough and difficult as some teams are working on their lineup improvement. I want to see them at ECF again but not expecting.

If I'm not mistaken, he was also injured during their playoff run but they did good with him and Trae. So it is expected that he will be rewarded handsomely with a new contract and the Hawks didn't disappoint as as they keep him and others for another run next season. And as Capela matures and gain experience last playoff, for sure he will up his game. Yes, it will be a tough battle in the East, but they are capable of surprising us again, maybe this time improving their position to 3rd spot at least.

One of the players I'm looking to see play in the NBA next season if he stayed in the Houston Rockets, they would have become a major contender in the NBA finals but whichever team he goes, he still gives his team the best he can do to make it to the playoffs. The Atlanta Hawks have some great players playing with him that will lead the team to be in the Playoffs again this upcoming season.

The rockets were going down the path of a complete rebuild, that's why they dumped everyone. They weren't going anywhere and Clint wasn't going to help them go deep into the playoffs. He actually is a perfect fit on that team. Think the Hawks are gonna be good for a long time they got a good squad building up over there.

... The NBA will follow the various cities' rules on vaccine requirements and this could create a great mess!
It could but let's just hope players won't take this as a big deal. It's crazy to think but vax has become similar to passports that you can't travel from one jurisdiction to another without it. ... The rockets were going down the path of a complete rebuild, that's why they dumped everyone.
It was a pity to witness what happened to them after spending so much on building around Harden. I think they made a huge mistake when they chose him over CP3.

I am glad you all like the Clint Capela news. I also felt great when I saw it because he truly deserves it. If this goes well, the Hawks will have a good pair of franchise players. Trae and Clint. It's not easy to find big men who can play like that. ... The rockets were going down the path of a complete rebuild, that's why they dumped everyone.
It was a pity to witness what happened to them after spending so much on building around Harden. I think they made a huge mistake when they chose him over CP3. It was just not for them. The Rockets should try what the New York Knicks did if they cannot find a player that fits what they already have. Build with a young core with long contracts and try to make something out of it. It's a risk but could also be rewarding if done right.
