I do like Yabusele as well and prior to the Olympics we haven't heard him. For me he is like a small version of Ben Wallace, big body, who played center but actually I think he can be a power forward. Not sure what team he can blend, but he could be a perfect fit for team that needs PG that can operate inside and be a big defender as well.
The guy had already played with the Celtics before for two seasons; he just grew his hair out, which is why we didn't recognize him, but he isn't popular in the NBA. https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/y/yabusgu01.htmlMaybe there's a second chance for him to play, but if he isn't utilized well, it might be safer for him to stay where he is and on the team he’s currently playing with, since he’s getting good minutes and able to play his game. I agree to that, though NBA still a good place to make money but if he's already ejoying the team wherever he's currently playing and he already secured his family then better to enjoy the game, he got that quality game witnessing him helping his national team though the competition inside the NBA is tougher, he needs to have that coach who can trust him and provide quality minutes of game play for him to showcase his talents and skills.

Just kinda interesting, was thinking about this over the Olympics ...
Best players in the NBA..first time in NBA history where not only the top player (tho Hakeem the Dream when MJ retired briefly could be argued, briefly) but arguably the top 3 players are probably not Americans... Jokic, Giannis, and Luka one could argue fill out the top 3. Now IMO Anthony Edwards will be the best player in the NBA in 1-3 years. He's on his way. You could also argue that technically, you'd rather have Durant, Lebron or Curry than those guys in a single series ..if you got to pick. Does that qualify them as being better? I dunno. I think those three proved in the Olympics why they are all top 10 players ever who still are ELITE ( as for all time..Lebron no question, Curry best shooter ever and it's not debatable so you have to put him in there.. Durant..probably but debatable).
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander..Canadian.fighting his way up.
Looking at say the top 100, it's largely American..makes sense the game was created in the US, huge country with a diverse population ethnically. It's kinda cool seeing a change like this..and it just happened over last 2-3 years I'd argue. I don't think it's going to hold as I mentioned I think Edwards is destined for the top spot, you got Tatum who's just 26, Ja Morant ascending.. if he stops "flashing his piece out on the lane" (if you get this reference we are friends for life lol)..and tons of others.
Just an interesting time in NBA history I wanted to chat about. Feel free to disagree with any of this.

This guy Guerschon Yabusele really dunked over LeBron James in the Olympics and then parlayed that into an NBA contract. Good for him. I’m guessing his main role is going to be to try and taunt LeBron to get him off his game when the Philadelphia 76ers play against the Los Angeles Lakers. Still, a great Olympic story. https://x.com/automaticnba/status/1825211484852609123

Back in the NBA, he’ll definitely aim to prove himself and secure a longer stay, which could lead to a better contract when it's time for renewal. Congratulations for him, well deserved comeback.

Rich Paul saying the reason we don’t have LeBron James and Stephen Curry playing together on the Warriors is because he was worried about LeBron’s legacy if he switches teams again. At this point, the only thing that matters to me about his legacy is how many rings he ends up with. I say join Steph and chase those rings. https://x.com/legionhoops/status/1825259446630850960

I wouldn't say championship contender just yet. They can't seem to win big games in the playoffs. They have Paul george now so that might change things but I'd still have them seated in the 4/5 position this year. Even if embiid and George don't get injured you'd have to think they would play some time management with the 2 of them. Don't really know this guys game that they just picked up but with their roster already filled out he will probably ride pine.

Fair enough, but I like the roster now that PG has arrived already plus Yabusele would be able to help improve on the defensive end although sixers is already known for their good defense. Why I think now that they are a championship team because they have a big 3 already, i mean a real big 3 that could work. I'm counting on these guys " PG, Embiid, and Maxey". Plus you put these guys which could be a huge help. Caleb Martin and Reggie jackson which recentlly signed and the veterans Lowrey and Gordon, and a lot more familiar players that are known to be a good contributors.

This is Philadelphia taking the risk and going all in IMO. If they don't get a minimum of Eastern Conference Finals this year, Embiid will likely consider leaving. Whether or not he has interest is going to depend on how he performs this year of course, but Philly will be without him if they don't perform. Can't say I have Philly as low as 5th in the East, but def not #1. I like the Pacers to improve, Boston is def still #1 being defending champs, and Knicks might surprise some people.

1-year, $2.1 million. Not bad. I guess they will just test him out. Anyway, when I look at his picture, he does resemble someone in the NBA but I cannot identify who that is. We do not know yet if the addition of PG13 will really do good with the 76ers roster. They don't have Tobias Harris anymore so I am guessing PG13 will do what he did but just better. If there's something that must level up with the 76ers, I think it's Embiid being more of a playmaker and minimizing some stupid plays that he does. Stay with the basics, and make the game simple, just like what Jokic is doing as a big man. Maxey is already stepping up his game and I don't think they will have any trouble with him, maybe it's his passing ability that they need to improve.

Probably it's Ben Wallace, one of the bad boys in Detroit Pistons before. We do not know yet if the addition of PG13 will really do good with the 76ers roster. Tobiar Harris aren't so effective with the team, so I think PG are gonna play more rules for the team which will make the team better Nowe, the team already have 3 players that could score consistently, that includes their young superstars, so that's really scary IMO. The only concern with PG and Embiid is them being an injury prone, hopefully they'll have a good upcoming season so somehow fans would be excited rooting and cheering for the team.

Back in the NBA, he’ll definitely aim to prove himself and secure a longer stay, which could lead to a better contract when it's time for renewal. Congratulations for him, well deserved comeback. Oh crap, NBA will be put on notice here, . Yeah, I think he is one player that really shines in the Olympics and then he posterized Lebron James. And with that, its good to see him back in the NBA and for sure he will be like a intimidating presence in the middle. And I do agree that he reminds us all of Ben Wallace type of player back in the 90's to early 2000's. Who's presence in the middle really put a terror, he even had that one block against Shaq and so he is not afraid to deal with anymore who wants to test him. Vince Carter though has a posterized dunk on him and so I guess Yabusele will be willing to check any one and he could also be posterized by some great dunkers like Ja Morant.

Fair enough, I guess we can say that Minnesota doesn't have that experience last season, after a long time, this is the closest that they get and with Edwards athleticism still not enough to overcome Dallas. Luka has been in this situation before, and so very familiar on how to play and close out games. But with the the Wolves exposure to this kind of situation, they could really improved this year. For the Center of Dallas, they are underrated, but the good thing is that Lively is still very young and a lot of leg room to improved as well. And getting Gafford and Washington in the trade deadline really help the chances of Dallas last season to go to the finals. As for Klay, let's see, he might have this chip on his shoulder and with that he could be motivated this season. The Dallas Mavericks looks really scary to be honest especially with the addition of Klay Thompson now, but they might have some lapses in defense though with losing Derrick Jones Jr which means Klay Thompson would have to do some defensive duties, however my major concern is Luka Doncic, I think he does inhibit the performance of some his teammates with being on the ball 95% of the time, perhaps there should some rotation and him playing a bit more off the ball to help improve the teams chemistry a bit more, just like like Curry play off the ball with Green a lot, it would unlock even better opportunities for Doncic, it might reduce his numbers a bit, but it will be at the benefit of the team because just like in the finals against Celtics, after the Celtics cut out Luka Doncic passes to his teammates, they ran out of options and needed Luka do the scoring alone, while the Celtics were fine with him scoring 100 points by himself the limited connection to his teammates but if the teammates were able to play more off another facilitator besides Doncic, they might have had stood better chance. With like the Celtics asides Jaylen Brown and 70% of the players on the court are pretty good ball handler, unlike with the Mavs where you players like Tim Hardaway Jr, Derrick Jones and PJ probably not being to touch the ball at all unless they needed to catch and just shoot, or grab a board. I think it already did improved on their ball rotations that's why they are successful last season. Although Luka had the ball most of the time, still though he passes even more as he all know that he almost average triple double. And then there are games that Kyrie took the ball in the dying seconds, like his left shot against the hands of Jokic for the win. We did criticized, the combination of Kyrie and Luka and we did say that it is not going to be effective, nevertheless majority of us are very young as they reaches the finals again. They have a big chance though, so I wouldn't say that much, but we will have to see how Klay will get involved in offense because for sure he will, but will his role like be in his Warriors, wherein his teams will set him picks, or will Klay have to look for his own shots.

I hope Maxey and PG will blend well as both are good offensive facilatators, if they able to maximize the advantage having Embiid, it's going to be a good for the entire squad, the good catch here, both PG and Maxey are 2-way players they can provide good defense and they are also good in terms of good offense,. Just be healthy as it will allow them to perform well, they can make the whole squad as contender this upcoming season.

Embiid should not have to carry the team alone, as they have a lot of shooters. The more Embiid tries to force his own plays, the more he risks getting injured again. Paul George will provide offense and experience, which will surely help Maxey. We've seen how good Maxey is, but he still lacks maturity, which I believe he'll develop as long as the team maintains good chemistry. I'm excited for this team; I think they are strong contenders in the East and could potentially beat the defending champions. Like most of you, I want to see all the starters healthy so the Sixers can be at their best when facing the Celtics in the ECF.

Oh yeah, we forget about Harris joining the Detroit Pistons, his former team as well for a good 2 years worth $52 million. I guess he really didn't fit well with the system, and we thought that he will have a huge impact coming to the Sixers. I have a good feeling that both Maxey and PG will be a good combination, Maxey had his break out year, becoming the second option for him and he has games wherein he showed greatness, but still lack the experience. But with PG, he will learn a lot for sure from his veteran and PG might be a good mentor for him.

Yabusele could be remembered with that dunk, but from you can see, 2.1 million for a year isn't really a big deal and he wasn't really brought in for anything but just waving the towel, any player that gets any decent minutes, even like 10 minutes a game, gets more money than that and unless he proves something more then all he will be is a 12th man, which was the reason why he went back to euroleague normally, and will be back quickly after this season when he does nothing again.
Don't get me wrong, the dunk was awesome, but he is not a guy who does a lot, even for France he didn't do much and I believe that he will not be making much for a long time, we are going to end up seeing him do just the bare minimum and because of that ı think he is not good enough for NBA.

I just posted yesterday about JT Thor from South Sudan who signed another contract but this time with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Then I'm talking about Yabusele who might also sign a contract and it actually happened just today. His contract is only for $2 million, and while some people think that’s small, I think it’s reasonable because I believe Yabusele isn’t in it for the money but rather to play in the NBA. It's similar to Tony Snell, who wants to return to the NBA to have access to better medical benefits for his children.

He's back in the NBA and the noise he's made from the match against USA and with that dunk against Lebron, made him his spot. Getting into the NBA or going back there is harder nowadays. Even the veterans can't even sign for a million but he's got $2.3M. It's actually a lot already, if you think that $2.1M a year isn't that much, you must be rich. But I agree with you about him probably not getting a lot of playing time and that's normal. I think that these international leagues are becoming a gateway to those that haven't been back to the league or are trying to get a contract. Still, a big congratulations to him and this is one of the reasons why those players that haven't been in the league yet can shine after playing decently on international leagues. As of now, he just have to enjoy that contract as that's a guaranteed mil for him.

Rich Paul saying the reason we don’t have LeBron James and Stephen Curry playing together on the Warriors is because he was worried about LeBron’s legacy if he switches teams again. At this point, the only thing that matters to me about his legacy is how many rings he ends up with. I say join Steph and chase those rings. https://x.com/legionhoops/status/1825259446630850960I don't even think that Lebron has got a lot of years left to the league, maybe 2-3 years remaining as he'll just going after the record of playing with his sons. But it's still going to hit different if he'll able to chase a ring or two.

I'd think the same that at this point lebron is probably more interested in playing with bronny than teaming up and chasing after another ring on another team. For him it's likely Lakers or bust. I don't see the Lakers competing with that squad but we shall see.
