The worry with AR is that he won’t be as good on another team. Think Jordan Poole after the Warriors.
Larry Bird I believe it was famously said he wouldn’t sign players after they were on LeBron’s team because LeBron makes everyone else better than they are. This could be the case with AR. If so, the Lakers need to trade him this year because once LeBron goes, AR may lose his trade value.
There is a chance that Reaves will leave the Lakers in the next offseason anyway, as he has a player option for next season in his contract. Personally, I think that he will be looking for a big contract in the next offseason and may well move to another team, especially if the Lakers' offer to extend his contract seems insufficient to him.

I am seeing that one day that the Lakers will have to do this trade.
It's true that AR's value has gone up as well and playing with Lebron, he has taught a lot and learned from that.
Improved a lot and so, if they're going to make assets from this roster. Luka will be the first one on their roster and will have to trade others for added value and help for reaching a title.
But for me I think Lakers don't need to trade AR, they already prove that he can blend well together with their stars. Lakers should find good solution to create good chemistry with their current roster now since they already have solid players on their team. This is projected starting line up of Lakers. PG Doncic SG AR SF LBJ PF Rui C Ayton Maybe what they need is build a solid second unit since it seems that this is where they might get a problem especially if their stars will rest or worst will get injured. You're right, they need to make a good second unit and that's what the other teams are good with. But time will come when AR is no longer that valuable to them or asks for more, he'll step down as a Laker and will find another team that will match his asking. Lakers is still stacked with good 2nd unit now that they have center. They have Vando, Vincents, Kleber and veteran Smart even though he is a liability on offense but sure he can create a breathing room once he play against other team 2nd unit. Their starter play is crucial since their chemistry is not yet tested especially their new center that is soft center.

For sure, if you follow the NBA meme pages, you’ve probably seen the image of Zion Williamson looking much slimmer in your newsfeed. I’m not sure if it’s legit, but if it is then Zion could be a monster this season. It’s time for him to prove his worth and pay back what the Pelicans invested in him. Zion is a great player, but we all know his injuries have held him back and his weight has been a big factor in that. Hopefully, the image circulating online is real.

Yeah, that's also some real reason to consider if they're going to trade him. He's also given a good playing time with Lebron because he likes to play with him and they have some good connection inside the court. Lakers is still stacked with good 2nd unit now that they have center.

Add to it Knecht if they're going to use him properly, the kid can really play ball.

Yeah I saw one not sure if it's legit as it shows that it was a post from Ja' Morant stating that Zion is no the captain of Pelicans, though like what you said, if that's for real if he managed to make kind of diet hopefully yes, crossing my fingers hahah, but if it's true then that's going to be exciting knowing how electrifying Zion whenever he's dunking the ball, let's see if he'll be able to complete the season or if how many games he'll be able to play to help his team.

I think the lighter frame will be good for Zion and maybe will help him stay healthy. He is too good and makes too much money to be off the floor so often.

Skinny Luke throwing dimes to skinny Zion who goes for the windmill, that would be something. Sure skinny frame would benefit him health wise but it might also take one of his strengths away, it will be harder to bully people in the paid. I mean obviously he is still wide but lost mass is always a factor. On the other hand, those pounds he lost he doesn't have to bring up to the rim anymore. So his explosiveness and jumping ability will take an even greater jump up. Waiting for his first transition dunk with the new frame!

Bad news for Russell Westbrook. The only team that was expressing interest in giving him a contract above the league minimum was the Sacramento Kings. Now they have signed Terence Davis to their final roster spot, seemingly leaving Russell out of the NBA. Sure, they may cut a player and probably will, but I don't think they'll be interested in giving Russ his paycheck unless they outperform early in the season and see themselves as possibly having a chance for a playoff run. We'll see... I'd hate to see Russ get forced into early retirement.
That would really be a drastic downfall for a former MVP and record setter with triple double. Amazing how it can go sometimes. Sure, his best days are over but he can still ball for sure, also not he is less of a stat patter which makes him an even bigger asset to teams that want some help on PG position and/or off the bench. The Houston Rockets could sign him yet again, but the problem is, his veteran minimum contract costs around $3.6M while the Rockets only has $1.9M worth of cap space. I don't know, but it seems like they don't want to go above the 1st apron, but with the injury of VanVleet, they might make some decisions. It all started when he went to LA, and I'm pretty sure we've seen it all. I don't want to blame the Lakers for what happened to his career, but the fans there are straight up very bad when it comes to him hence, affecting his self-esteem and his career as a whole as well. There's this "What if" in my mind where "What if Westbrook didn't go to the Lakers? Will he still flourish and still be one of the best PG out there?" Like you both, I also hate to see him retiring this early, but if that's what's bound to happen then there's nothing that we can do. It happened with Melo, and also happened with other all-star players as well.

But in any case, it won't prevent him from getting injured. Just like in the case of Kawhi, wherein there was image of him having a huge and massive lower to compensate or help him not get injured. But still though in the last season he still suffered it. I guess there are NBA body that might not really build for long term. We've seen that on Greg Ogden or even a prime Brandon Roy wherein their knees cannot hold even if they have been operated.

Zion could last longer in a season but he doesn't even come close to taking care of his body. He has all that extra weight destroying his joints in his legs. Losing weight is only 1 part of the journey he needs to complete to even think about being active for a whole season. He needs to hire a fitness coach as well and get his muscles into shape. Look at Lebron James and how long he has been in the NBA. He's over 40 and still dominates, why? He spends over a million dollars a year on his body. https://lakersnation.com/does-lebron-james-really-spend-1-5-million-per-year-on-his-body/Whether the number is true or not, the point is he does spend a large amount to get in and stay in shape. Zion probably spends $5000 on his body and it's not on fitness or exercise, it's on cheeseburgers on some dumb shit.

With his intense way of playing there's always a chance that he might fall and get another injury but giving him that time frame where he and his camp work with his health/diet, hoping to see something decent that may change the fate not only by him but more with the team's future, knowing his impact if he's playing healthy. Adjustment from him and the management may lead him to lessen the chance of getting injured, more on how the coach will use him and the role that will be assign to him.

I've seen the latest video Zion looks the same, at least on the video, they always say he lose wait, and is good for the first few months of the season but after that he will get injure that i don't understand, this has been the issue every season getting injured mid season and will come back next season, they really should cut his weight its been stopping him for finishing the season, although the issue is why they can't manage it since its been always the problem. I haven't seen the latest video of Zion, but I will tend to agree that he might have reach his desired weight already so no need to go down anymore as this is his fighting weight already. Zion probably spends $5000 on his body and it's not on fitness or exercise, it's on cheeseburgers on some dumb shit. if i were Zion, i would spend my money for the body and foods, that will help stay healthy and strong, healthy and strong body equals pay check, lots of players wanted to be the no. 1 pick and this guy is like eating cheese burger in McDonald's, while others star like LeBron keep body in shape no wonder LeBron is still better than Zion at 40, and not slowing down, even zion have lots of potential i would pick lebron on my team the guy is on another level maintaining body and health.

I don't know how much Zion loves fast food and how often he places orders like Big Smoke at the drive-thru, but the fact is that his injury proneness is related to being overweight. You're right that it puts a lot of strain on the legs, especially with such a busy schedule as in the NBA. As for LeBron, it's worth noting that it's not just how much a player spends on fitness, proper nutrition, trainers, etc., but above all, discipline and motivation that matter here.

Considering how he moves for a big man he will surely suffer an injury frequently just like Davis. This is the downside of having a large frame that can’t absorb his movement since normally a big men like them should move slower and less active. I’m surprised that he is still correcting his diet despite this is his issue for a long time. Pelc should give him ultimatum if they want this kind of player improved his diet.

This is long time issue with Zion but for the longest time he didn't improve. It seems that he's really struggling to maintain the desired weight what their management asked to him. He's lacking of discipline will cause his downfall. His future is uncertain and provably that many teams would avoid him especially that he became a big liability for them. So while its still early its better for him to do more better and maybe he should get inspired on LBJ since he provably could see a long dedication from the legend. I think they are not yet into that phase which they are giving him an ultimatum since maybe if they do that it will add up some stress to their star player. But rather they are motivating him to do more better, but I think Zion is close to be traded especially if he still fail and get injured this season.

If I'm not mistaken, it's inclusive in his contract that he shouldn't get overweight otherwise he might not get the perks included or the additional laid out in his contract. I think in the case of Lebron, yeah he is spending a lot in his body but I will say that it is also with his genetics that he was able to stay away from big injuries. You can say that to even to John Stockton, who throughout in his career was not sideline by injuries. So there are also that factors that it's hard to measure as to why some players didn't get injured during their long careers but there are some that is very fragile.

He is a dominant player but probably it's all just that but in terms of longevity, he'll probably not that last for 15 or more seasons but I'd love to see him won a ring. LeBron is definitely the type of player that cares for the profession that lifts his life and more to be the best role model his children could emulate as well as his fans.

He meet the expectation of people and his injury issues is something like big troubles that need to deal with by his team. Zion's work ethics and condition has been criticize for so many times, but it seems that he didn't care about those things and didn't try to improve. Maybe he became another wasted talent in NBA since he didn't live on the hype he created ever since before and looks like he might failed then became just a regular dude in NBA. Lebron is one of the kind and provably its so rare to find another talent that plays the same level as what he can provide.
