Great work EverGreenCoin Dev and Team for staying ontop of the fork and working through it with everyone and also going above and beyond in some cases...

Been a bit offline for a about a week and noticed some wallet issues yesterday thanks for the bootstrap as well made it so much easier to re-sync. Not one single coin missing from any of my wallets and back to staking like a boss...  Grin

Keep up the awesome work guys...

So my friend asked me what the status on the launch was. He was one of the people that sent in for the nameplate that was to go up with the launch.
I didn't know what to tell him because I haven't been following it.

Problems can happen to any coin..
What separates the good ones from the bad ones is how the devs react.

@ EGC they were quickly on the scene and worked on the problem.
I really dont see what else could have been done.

OK, i've finally resynched again, payouts are enabled, please withdraw your coins before the next fork happens

the next fork happens? ...

you of all people should understand that issues occur on occasion to almost any coin mate ...

look at the hell you went through with decred - and STILL go through ... just because dcr make more btc makes it less of a headache? ...

you will always be one of the 'top of my list' devs / people in crypto mate - but i am must say that im actually shocked to see you write something like that ... im backing steven and egc / bern 100% - and the reason for that is that he is on the ball and CARES ... apart from the fact that he and i worked tirelessly to correct the issues AND bring it all back to normal ... the man is a good man ... three days straight is not a small feat of continued work ... ill have his back whenever he needs it ... for both coins ...

having a pool with the status that suprnova has is a bonus in its own right ...

its a pity that you are taking the pool offline ... and i do understand that forks ( or any issue with coins ) are a pain ...

suprnova is still one of the better pool places to go ... so keep up the great work ... i just wanted to voice that i think that statement is a little unfair - especially as an expectation ...

thats all mate ...

First Off , I am not Happy with this coin or Yobit at the Moment.  Angry

Made my very 1st purchase of evergreen from Yobit which was sent out to me on the BAD FORK!

Left them a support ticket, but considering I still have a unanswered Ticket for Supercoin from 4-06-2016,
I am not going to hold my breath.

Is anything being done with Yobit , or are the people (like me) that were stupid enough to buy this coin , SHIT OUTTA LUCK.

signed,

 Angry

FYI:
Left this message in their chat :
kiklo2015 L1: @Yobit Support , that Crappy evergreen coin Forked, Please Resync you Blockchain from the beginning , as my purchased coins on sitting in your yobit address on the updated fork. Thanks

I do understand your frustration with the situation as does everyone in the EverGreenCoin community. I do share your frustration with YoBit as they have been unresponsive to support tickets, "Update/Issue/Fork" reports, pleadings in the trollbox, and tweets. If you would be so kind as to retweet this: https://twitter.com/EverGreenCoin_/status/735098400799109124  Perhaps if enough users demand action from them to get on the correct blockchain they will do so. You mentioned that you have already submitted a support ticket and I thank you for taking the time to do that as well.

Unfortunately we are at the mercy of Yobits willingness to act. If other community members have a yobit account, please submit a ticket asking them to resync their EverGreenCoin blockchain and retweet the mentioned tweet also. Even if it does not directly effect you by having EGC on yobit or having expected transactions from yobit, it is effecting us all. Perhaps stop by the trollbox and give a shout for an admin expressing the need for the matter to be addressed and the sooner addressed the better.

You are not out of luck, kiklo. Yes, the events that lead us here were unlucky but, we have been considerable lucky in resolutions. I did persist with the other 3 exchanges diligently and promptly to get them on the correct blockchain as fast as humanly possible and with not one user missing coins from their exchange account. We are very lucky for that outcome. I am making every effort to do the same with YoBit but I need them to make some effort as well. If I could get it done myself, it would have been done days ago.

I would add we are also lucky because EverGreenCoin does have a foundation. When I was faced with the incorrect first findings of C-Cex's internal audit ~24 hours ago seeking coin reconciliation of over 180k EGC to cover a later found incorrect discrepancy, I was on skype talking to C-Cex's admin discussing the options we had. A swap, the coin and blockchain being deemed broken and delisted, or the 180k EGC being covered by the foundation were the options. I can honestly tell you I was leaning towards the foundation reconciling C-Cex's books as this would have been the fastest and least detrimental and time consuming to the community. Of course I would not have made the decision alone and would have allowed for the community to debate and vote on the course of action we would follow. Very fortunately repairing C-Cex's wallet did work and there was in fact no discrepancy. We were again, very lucky.

The longer YoBit continues operation on the incorrect blockchain, the greater the damage and cost to balance their books will be. Yobit's inaction in not the fault of anyone's but Yobit. Again, I understand you are upset. Please do not direct that anger or hostility towards myself or EverGreenCoin as a whole. Their unwillingness to address the matter swiftly is their fault and myself and other members of the community, yourself included, are making every effort to urge them to get on the correct blockchain. When they do the matter of missing coins from them being on the wrong blockchain will be addressed.

I hope I have eased at least some of yours and others anger kiklo. At this point, everything possible is being done and will continue to be. Thank you in advance for your understanding and patience with the matter.

EDIT: I now see you have been in the trollbox urging them to get on the correct chain. Thank you for doing so and yes I have been as well. I promise you we will get through this and your coins will be back where they belong just as soon as possible.

I downloaded the bootstrap and unzip it to the directory where wallet.dat is located and it takes more than 4 hours before the wallet starts and syncing again but unfortunately it was stuck. I repeated the method again but no luck, so i decided to erased everything. except wallet.dat and transfer it to other location and I downloaded again the  WALLET and run it for 8 hours for downloading all the blockchain  Shocked Shocked and yes it's already syncing and cut and paste my back up wallet.dat to the directory to replace the existing wallet. and tadahh... im on the road again.. staking my coin for the past 6 days. And maybe this method will help to those who are still on the wrong fork, all it needs is patience.. Good luck..  Wink Cheesy

My wallet forked again at block 426743 (I wasn't mining this time) but at least this time all nodes disconnected me.

I'm not sure what happened lately or if someone's attacking the network but it's starting to get annoying.

Downloading the whole chain via wallet does take time indeed.

So does the importing of bootstrap.i think my crapmachine took hours.  With that white nice window saying "application hung" every time i touched it.
(this is normal.. happend to all 4 bootstraps i've used on different coins. One took 3 times longer than EGC.. but also had a biiig blockchain.)

TIP.
DONT ERASE.
RENAME!

EverGreenCoin.OLD   (this way you can always go back and retry)

Copy only the files you want into a  fresh folder, or start anew.
I dont think it matters if wallet dat is there before or after resync.

YOBIT!

I srsly dont understand whats going on there.

Theye were on the wrong fork, had maintainance. Then opened wallet.
I did a test transaction.
It was successful. I even posted it here.
Date: 23.05.2016 22:31    <-  99 egc from yobit to wallet.

Then, a bit later i see their status is "block delayed".
This morning i saw it was in "maintainance" again.

I think we should give them the benefit of the doubt and just wait.

They are indeed really bad at giving out information about status. But considering admin is active these days, and the wallet status changes, makes me think they are working on it.

And as we all know... resyncing a blockchain from scracth and importing wallets is NOT a quick fix to just run over.
Imagine their wallet... and accounts Shocked

Anyways.. none of these things are done in a flash.. There was a problem, and everyone needs to have some patience while its solved and everything is smooth again.

Id like to see any other altcoin survive an event like this.
Props and creds to EGC team.

Exactly the same that I was thinking of. I am also struggling to get synced.
Does EGC use a checkpoint server? If that is the case, I would take a look at that. Just my 2 EGC...
In the meanwhile, I'm gonna reinstall and resync for the 3rd time  Embarrassed

I didn´t reinstall I just closed wallet and open it again and then he found the new block. You don´t need to resync always.

I am sorry you and other community members are have difficulty staying on the correct chain. EGC does use a checkpoint server, yes. Crysx and I are monitoring this server and the other servers constantly throughout the day and verifying block hashes periodically against all the seednodes and the block explorer. They have all stayed on the correct chain and we will continue to monitor them and verify they have.

Blockexplorer still broken and Wallet is not syn so good. Had today problem again after second start of the Wallet all was okay again.

The block explorer is working. It is on the correct chain and it can be used to verify block hashes which will prove if you are on the correct chain.

To do this, within you EGC wallet, click on the Statistics tab. Look to see what block height you are at. At the time of this writing we are on 427914 so I will use that for example. Next click on the block explorer in the wallet. In the top left input field, type 427914 and click the Jump to Block button. You will see it output a Block Hash. In my example of block 427914 the output block hash is 038a896c2506dcf7e609281b89287c8efbec3138dc3915591ab9f2298354d156 Now go to the online block explorer at http://transactions.evergreencoin.org and in the search field, type 427914 and press the search button. You will see the block hash listed directly below the search field, labled "EGC block:" followed by the block hash. Compare this hash against the hash your wallet returned. If they are the same, you are on the correct chain. If they differ, you are on the incorrect chain. If that is the case, please immediately close your wallet and do not open it again until you are ready to do a complete resync.
