Send me 10,000 and I'll order you a couple of pizzas. I'll throw in some chicken wings for free.

Of course no mate. I am not interested in any other cryptocurrency but bitcoin. Perhaps I could get some little amounts of other currencies, but without exchanging my bitcoins. I have struggled to much to gather my present amount of bitcoin, and I am not willing to spend it easily!!!

It's been a painful ride for me with the altcoin market this year, what makes this one special?

supposedly it can do anything, and they've spent a good deal of the pre-mine money on their public relations/marketing team before having a working product, so you can expect more positive hype i guess

That would be something to do with ether ... but sounds a bit contrived cheesy lameness. Hope they don't print too many ethers for those swiss holon parties.

Any pizza shop can accept ETH easily, for example, by installing a mobile wallet for Ethereum: https://www.jaxx.io/

There's a difference between possibility and actually occurring. Considering it took a year and a half before the Bitcoin pizzas were bought I'd say Ethereum still has time on its side. Besides the Bitcoin pizzas were transacted between bitcointalk forum members not on a fully integrated payment system. So my offer still stands for anyone who fancies a pizza. Let's make Ethereum history.

ether is just a toy for big sharks. stay away That made me laugh, I don't know did u even do some research about ethereum?? When I first heard about it the first thing what I did was find as much info about it as I could. And I really think it is going to be something big, not bigger then Bitcoin, but at least a good number 2. I mean come on Litecoin is almost the same as Bitcoin why would I use Litecoin over Bitcoins.. We needed a good number 2 and Ethereum is here to stay and grow. Especially since they have good connections to the financial and political world!

I suppose everyone understand this, but I will state it for the record. With a $200,000+ monthly budget, Ethereum can afford fancy website design and paid promotion at sites such as Coindesk, etc.. We gave them $18 million to produce no solution to the fundamental challenges they never solved, and they spent our money on hype to fool other greater fools into buying at nosebleed, manipulated prices. We invested in screwing the newbies who come to crypto. That is not a sustainable model for growing our ecosystem. We are poisoning the well from which we drink

It's basically able to do pretty anything. His Smart Contracts system allow you to host decentralised applications in the network, the World's computer.

The problem does not exist. We don't need a "good number 2". Now if there is an actual problem Ethereum actually solves in a novel way, it may become a "good number 2" but becoming a "good number 2" is not itself a problem. I flush "good number 2"s down the toilet every day.

Just ask corporate persons and investors what they really think about Bitcoin, it's a joke. However it can still find a way to survive as digital gold and storage of wealth where instant transactions and fees are not really a problem. Ethereum has a huge potential of becoming something even bigger than Bitcoin, which has failed time and time again during all these years. That doesn't mean it will, but just how organized and ambitious it is can tell you something about its intentions.

Ethereum doesn't scale any better than Bitcoin.

It's basically able to do pretty anything.
Ethereum is a blockchain with a scripting language, basically a generalized version of the altcoin NXT. the cost of having the scripting language is security problems and scalability problems. His Smart Contracts system allow you to host decentralised applications in the network
1. decentralized applications are not created through ethereum. there are many ethereum-centralized applications created with ethereum. 2. the internet is a platform for creating decentralized applications. the World's computer.
which has the computational power/capacity of a 1990s dumbphone.

We do not know where is the limit now. I thought it will top at 0.01, but I was totally wrong. The price is too high.
There is no upper limit in a bubble, it can go up until a tulip is worth a big house. That being said, I have no clue whether or not this will bubble and pop or get high and stay. I do know it came up very fast, so common sense says it can also disappear very fast. What you have to remember is that tulips back then were expensive to begin with, as they had only recently been introduced into Europe, and were both scarce and sought after. The bulbs that fetched the highest price were also the rarest type (that were actually infected by a virus). The raw price data from this time is also very sketchy. Mackay's account about people selling their entire estates for a single bulb is mostly a fiction based on propaganda. Just been over on Poloniex and there's a MASSIVE buy wall ETH/BTC hitting Ethereum tonight. Buy while your still can.
This has been said before, but the orderbook by itself is not a reliable indication of price direction. The bid side was over 20K BTC just yesterday yet price went down. Also, did anyone bother to look at the orderbook during Bitcoin's bubbles? Maybe they should...

I wish I could get excited when Ethereum switches to PoS, thus eliminating the only advantage it has above all the other Ethereum clones with much cheaper fuel but I cannot find an example of a DAPP that makes any practical sense yet. It would be neat to have æthereum as a BTC sidechain where fuel was distributed for free to all bitcoin users* but I want to know a compelling reason why DAPPs would be useful in the first place. Can anyone suggest a reason besides the novelty of it? * https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=563925.0
