Being with God IS being free. Where else do you think you get the freedom to be against God? However, notice how hard of a time you are having getting yourself to be with God. That's because being against God is being a slave to being against God. You really should pray that God will release you out of your slavery against Him.

Understand that "not believing" is simply believing in a different direct. Whichever way man believes, God takes a look at the level and direction of his faith, and then goes back to the Beginning of creation (when necessary), and tweaks all of creation to match the faith of that man, as well as the faith of all other people.

We don't know that God did this, because every time He does this, all we see is the flow of cause and effect up to the present. We don't realize and can't tell that God changed it all, and does so on a regular basis, just to give to people according to their faith.

There is a good chance that all the parallel universes that exist in the aether, are simply the various tweaked universes, already set in place, so that all God has to do is dump the spirit of each person into the correct universe, rather than go back in time to the beginning and actually cause the tweak to happen anew.

Perfection exists. It exists in the fact that imperfection has been worked into the universe without destroying the universe. Jesus did the work of this perfecting when He died on the cross and arose the 3rd day afterward, so that even imperfection has its perfect place in the universe. The prayer needs to be one of faith. Most people don't have enough faith so that they are instantly healed. If they had that kind of faith, they wouldn't have gotten sick in the first place.

Further, James 5:14,15 says:

14 Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord.

15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven.

Notice that it is the prayer that heals. What is the oil for? People need to see something in order for them to have greater faith. The oil tricks the faith into being stronger. To increase the weak faith, so that there is enough faith within the prayer, so that God will work through it.
