marc managed to dominate free practice by recording his best time of 1:30.5. this time he even managed to break the record made by jorge martin, with a new 1m 29.855s lap record. that made marc the new record holder at le mans.

what's interesting is that quartararo, even though he didn't record the fastest time, managed to finish behind marc. this is a good thing, because this is his hometown race and he really hopes that he can win this race or at least get a podium. hopefully he can get that podium, so that the podium is not only filled by ducati.

Yamaha has really used a new engine in the Le Mans series this time so that it has been clearly seen in the lap time recorded by Quartararo. And for today it seems that there will be several other riders who will break Marquez's time record or even Marquez himself who will make a new time record in today's session because for today there will be qualifications to take the starting grid as usual. Apart from that, I also hope that KTM and Yamaha can put up a slightly fiercer fight in today's Sprint so that there is a slight difference from the Sprint that has been running this season.

Cant wait to see the main race, although sprint race will also be interesting to watch but main race is the most waited race.

I don't think Norris is doing any kind of shenanigans like dropping hints to the journos that there's some possibility that he could transfer to another team.  I mean they do still have the best car.  So doing so would make it look like he's the worse driver between him and Piastri.  

But eventually...  When the pressure gets to be so unbearable, he'll crack and starts talking shit.  Give it a couple more months.    It could even start after the next race if Piastri wins at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari.  

Norris is currently worse than Piastri. Everybody should be able to say this easily if they are really watching the races. I don't know what's wrong with him also. Focusing issues or something else?

He even complained about Verstappen after the race about how dirty he is racing.    I mean of course he will do that. Piastri overtook him anyway. Why did it take you so long? Norris is at fault about missing his chance to win that race truthfully.

Yeah prolly going through some personal issues or something.  But he's young and all he needs to do is muscle his way out of it and be back in his good form to be in the running again.  

But if it's a personality test, yeah...  Verstappen and Piastri beat soyboy Norris anytime of the week.    Norris needs to toughen up.

Anyway, can't wait for the next race at Ferrari's home turf.

Perez is said to have held talks with Alpine boss Flavio Briatore over the Miami GP weekend to discuss any potential vacancies in the team. Perez backer Carlos Slim was also seen in talks with several key people at the Miami GP to discuss a return for Perez and also Colapinto (who has already been successful).

Yesterday's Sprint Race was quite tough for Quartararo because he had to face three Ducati bikes that were able to overtake him when the Sprint was running and he also really acknowledged the toughness of Marquez, Alex and Fermin Aldeguer. And today Quartararo will fight for the podium again at his home with a slightly different livery color than yesterday because to achieve victory it seems it will be quite difficult for Quartararo. In addition, Bagnaia who fell yesterday will also race very well today to redeem the points he should have gotten yesterday.

A weekend without an F1 race... It is sad.    But at least there is going to be a lovely prize of this wait. As of next weekend we are going to have 3 races in 3 weeks! Imola, Monaco, Catalunya in order. Can't wait for it!

can't believe that zarco won the french gp and beat marc by such a big gap. this is historic, because not only was he able to win the race and beat ducati, where they were unbeaten for 22 races, but he was the first french rider to win at home since 1954, and added with honda's first podium since japan 2023. i can say that they are not only smart, but also brave to bet on the weather and make them win this race. even though from the beginning i had guessed that marc could win this race again, or if not his brother, but unfortunately alex had to DNF and marc was unable to do anything to catch zarco.

Was a crazy race.
One of the funniest race in the last 3 years for sure.
At least in the first 10 laps when everything happened.

Shame on Bagnaina, he can't keep the pace with Marquez.
For sure he was on the ground for not his mistake but with a better qualifying there wasn't the problem at all.

So are all the other teams as inferior to complain about that, McLaren has other things that gives them a huge advantage and the one with the greatest impact so far has been the way they cool the tires which of course gets some inspiration from the wing yet there are other things involved. Anyway what I want to point out is that you cannot improve yourself by accusing others, I think the best is to keep your head down and work to improve your car rather than trying to ban other cars technology because they maybe in the limit of being legal, in 2026 the rules change for everyone and I think the teams who are quite far behind need to focus their attention to the production of that year car in order to be ready. I think Aston Martin will be the top contender as they have the best engineers in F1 so I expect them to be contenders for the 2026 season.

It is indeed a challenge for the teams to continue to upgrade to catch up with McLaren, but at the same time they need to focus on the 2026 season. Because the more they focus on developing their car this season, the less time they can use to prepare the car in 2026. But for Red Bull or Ferrari that might not be an excuse. Both of these teams I think will make some upgrades to their cars to get the best performance. Because it's just funny that teams like Red Bull and Ferrari let their cars this season and prefer to focus on 2026 - of course they will also focus on this season and also prepare for the 2026 season. It's just that McLaren is already on top, and it will definitely be more challenging for them to catch up. While the middle teams, like Aston Martin and Williams are probably now more focused on the 2026 season.

Now we are on a new race week! It's Imola which is the home ground for Ferrari...

But how good is Ferrari now on one hand? Not good at all.    They still need some upgrades for the car. But I don't see any coming until the Spanish GP. Probably another tough race is on the way for them as a result.

It was too childish of Norris to blame others for his own mistakes when he couldn't do it. Max was just doing his job to keep his opponent behind him, did he think Max would let him pass without a fight? It was just ridiculous. The only problem that prevented him from winning the race was himself. If he had grown up a little bit, he wouldn't have whined like a child.

Did you see how Piastri looked him in the eye while Norris was giving a post-race interview? He was like "Ah sh*t here we go again!".    It's sad to see Norris still not reaching a grown man status yet.

^  No amount of upgrades will make Ferrari fill the gap made by the McClaren this season.  We've seen it time and time again with Ferrari.  And if anything, if there's a team that could fill the gap, it's either Mercedes or Red Bull.

Ferrari needs a new team principal and a new Chief Technical Officer..  Bring Mattia Binotto back and make him CTO.  He's wasting his engineering talent in Sauber.

Yesterday's french race was really chaotic because of the unpredictable weather so that it forced all the riders to change their motorbikes several times and some even changed up to four times. So Johan Zarco was really lucky with the conditions because he could immediately match the tires he used in the race so that he was able to make a time gap with Marquez of more than 21 seconds. That was crazy for Zarco, but what surprised me a bit was when almost all the riders were given double long lap penalties after the bike change. But that was gone once all the riders changed their bikes again.

With his behavior like that, I don't think he can win the drivers' championship - even if the gap between him and Piastri is not that far, but sometimes his uncontrolled emotions make him unable to keep his cool. It is no wonder that Piastri was called "The next Max" by one journalist, because his personality is like Max - he is more daring to overtake, more mature mindset, and he keeps improving every week. At this point we might see that Norris will be left behind compared to Piastri.

This is so true, this is literally how McLaren got better too. Because, they knew that they can't just complain. A few years ago they were at best 5th place, they were literally fighting for that 5th place, then last year, when the season started, they were not good at all, they were getting top 10 results but that's it, they weren't making podiums, but they got better, they worked and upgraded their car and design and now doing better.

Last season they won the title but failed to get drivers, this season if nobody else makes an improvement like Mclaren did last year, then the yare going to win both cups this season. Piastri over Norris is still shocking to me, I really expected Norris to be the winner, but I guess he got unlucky a bit.

I am pretty sure no team would spend any of their time or money on making their car better for this year. That is a huge advantage for Mclaren, because they basically guaranteed their title already and we are not even halfway into the season yet, so they do not even upgrade their own car, the season is just over. That isn't bad, sure we know that no cars will be improved unless one of the teams are maniac and focus on just this year and risk it all.

However, that still doesn't negate the fact that there are unexpected results in some races, we can see rain, crashes, dnf's all change stuff race by race, so each race is still fun even though total result is known. Next season is the real kicker, because we have no clue which car will be best, we are going to wait and see and be shocked at the new regulations changing the order.
