I expect this is going to slowly die. It was interesting but without a competent dev team and projects being built on it whats the point?
I agree, both chains will die. Feel free to quote this in a year. time to remove the address from the sig.

There are not updating from developer of ETC, and if still there are not updating and innovation maybe it will be dead slowly. But it is just opinions. I will wait and see what will do by developer.

Atom plz remind us again why do you post here ?
I agree. I bet he is locked away in mental institution. I gave a rational analysis of not just ETC, but cryptocurrencies in general. I love the mining (POW guarantees some equality of distribution, even though the wealthy can buy much more powerful hashing gear...not sure how to 'solve' that...)...anyway, I will continue to root for ETC over ETH...but I need to mine for enough to justify my hobby..which I enjoy so much. I am concerned that the cryptocurrencies have essentially become 'slave coins' doing the bidding of bitcoin whales who likely haven't mined a coin in their life...just swapped fiat to get btc, then used the btc to swallow up all the other cryptos...and the move to POS for most coins is another method of taking the capacity to earn from miners and placing it in the hands of those who just 'buy in' to a crypto to increase their btc positions. All the ICO's are another complication for POW mining..it's all getting arranged for 'fiat exchange buy ins', not mining, and at least decentralizing to some reasonable extent. For this analysis I'm being called 'crazy'? I think these are reasonable concerns. Can someone say they are not rational considerations? I'm not telling folks to stay away from crypto, just saying it seems to be turning into what it was designed to reject: central banking and financial control by the wealthy. It's starting to look not unlike that which it was meant to set us free from. Bailouts, shorting, longing, central control and 'pegging'....doesn't look much different to me now really. It's starting to look like the 'casino' Wall Street became in 2008....likely the odds in Vegas are better than speculating on cryptos now. There is a 'core' of tech here that has such potential for people to have more control over their own financial affairs, I genuinely hope that gets implemented. If this is 'crazy', then tell me how it is different than what it was supposed to replace?

Price is down almost 30% for the day. What's going on?
Vitalik tweeted this several hours ago, in response to the question "Would you support ETC if it had the longer blockchain". The market is responding. The return to 0.0040+ after several hours of dips shows that the popular sentiment behind ETC is stronger than just one guy. Important test - the price goes from 0.0036 to 0.0043 (the tiny green upturn). Will the hash rate (red line) follow?

Atom, Good luck where every you decide to mine, trade, etc... But this ANN thread really is about keeping us informed on the progress that ETC is making. And of course some chit chat between those of us who are supporting it. Best of luck where ever you go. Now the bright side to the down price pressure is we are shaking out the weak hands and hopefully will flush out any ETC that is still in "hostile" hands that are using it as a weapon against ETC. The sooner that happens the more stability we will have. It is clear that the ETH insiders have a mountain of ETC and are not afraid to use it to attack. So these weaker prices might flush some of that out of the woodwork. The sooner ETC finds support and a price bottom while everyone is screaming the sky is falling the better. I am seeing a lot of trash talk on Polo Trollbox feeding nonsense about no devs and no future. It is time to make sure that everyone knows that there are devs, there is a future, and there is a plan. So announcements along those lines will help a great deal as we can repeat them in places where there is some impact. Positive note is that with so many running from ETC the diff is falling and profitability is returning to mining. Always a good thing OK then ....who are the devs? what is the plan? and what is etc future plans? ... As i said earlier, the ETH devs can severe ties from etc in many ways. With so much hatred towards VB & others....why would etc want them anyway? etc current philosophy of copy n paste, with anon leaders wont work imo
