Nice to see you here Marc, love your youtube channel...and lambo
I have been buying blackbytes in recent weeks but there are two issues I feel stand in it's way towards bigger adoption:
1. Users may not be aware that they should backup their wallet each time they spend blackbytes or else they risk loosing their balance in scenarios such as a wallet restore.
2. It isn't trading on exchanges due to technical limitations which I have not yet fully understood.
Hopefully the first issue can be addressed during a future wallet update.
Thanks btcdee
1. Agree, this is very unuserfriendly. Not sure how this can be solved. Understood that you can ignore everytime you spend as the ones remaining can be recovered although it's not easy, but after you received u have to do it everytime or u lost them if u have no backup.
2. You can buy blackbytes in the wallet without talking to anyone, just execute orders using freebe exchange bot for example. Ofcourse it would be better if traded on a big centralised exchange, but indeed if you want to do private transactions, not a good idea to buy your coins on a centralised exchange anyway.
The biggest problem I have with blackbytes is keeping my multidevice wallets synced, my phone is unable to keep up it seems (800 private payments to go ...) so I can't do any blackbyte transactions anymore and probably need to reinstall the wallet there :/
In general Byteball app still has many bugs, it is not ready to be used by the layman, but for a patient motivated user or investor it sure is worth learning, sharing and stashing it.
Value of Blackbytes $10 million is seriously undervalued, even taking it's shortcomings into account. Given a 1% chance it succeeds in becoming a respectable privacy coin, valued $1 billion these days, that is 1% chance for a 100x. But because it does things quite differently than it's competition, I think it may succeed in keeping transaction fees lower as Monero and zcash for example, and possibly offer more privacy and user friendliness over time, I therefore estimate the 1% chance as considerably higher, say 10%.
