About 500 users have passed the quiz since launch (despite frequent offs due to bugs, running out of money, running out of daily quota, etc) but I observe some share of fraud too. It is not very large but concerning. To reduce the incentive for fraud, the reward will now be reduced to $2.50. Unfortunately we are getting more cheaters. Starting now, the reward is further reduced to $0.35. could you please tell us how you find the cheaters. if i remember it right you wrote that because telegram needs a phonenumber you found a way to reduce cheating. is there a way to use telegram with fake phonenumbers? or how did they cheat you? I see that multiple textcoins are claimed to the same address. They probably buy telegram accounts or virtual phone numbers. if you want telegram account they are for sale 1000 for $37 (not need to mention where)and the more you buy the cheaper you ca get them Doubt that is even legit. Any telegram account logged in from a new location requires the code. Do you think the seller logs into each account to give you that code when you ask? lol no. Scrap the telegram and host it on byteball.org site (the quiz) that way you can add your own security measures @TonyCh Otherwise - quit worrying about cheaters because there will be somebody always here to try and exploit any system. No matter what kind of distribution technique you use, somebody is going to try and find a way to exploit that and claim more then they are allowed. Obviously they can't with a drop to BTC holders but you've stopped that.

I think that's a great idea but there's no way it could happen... it would destroy all of Tony's (and by extension the brand/project's?) credibility. He has said from day 1 that 99% of bytes (or somewhere around that amount) will be given away for free. But it would be interesting if the first decentralised governance action that the Byteball community takes is a referendum on the undistributed bytes. Maybe anyone who has verified their identity and has 100 GBYTE can participate in an https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exhaustive_ballot to determine which proposal wins. EDIT - Tony's a smart guy... I'm pretty sure he can see at this point that no matter which decision he makes he's going to piss a meaningful portion of the community off (rightly or wrongly). So at this point I think strategy dictates you ignore the complaints and choose decisions that ensure the network grows. Whatever that means I guess...

How long will Byteball campaign last, tonych? Have you had plan for ending time of Byteball signature campaign? I hope that I can support Byteball through signature campaign as long as possible, might be years (just my hope). I found the project by chance, spent a lot of time to discover ideas and platforms, technical solutions behind the project and its services. Honestly, this one is one of the most interesting project I have ever seen since the day I joined the forum more than 6 months ago.

I've suggested it before (and I'm not sure if you've seen it): how about an airdrop to existing Bitcointalk user accounts? You risk airdropping on account farmers, but if it's related to Merit received and account Rank, you can exclude many spammers.
That would be fine if it could be automated. Scraping the forum can be automated, but it's on the edge of the forum rules if people are required to post anything for an altcoin giveaway. Then again, the Altcoin Bounty thread is used for nothing less than that. If it's required to have received Merit, the number of qualifying users is limited to just over 10,000. An ideal solution would be where users can confirm their account ownership to receive their share. Any community input on how to do this?
What happened to the GBYTE trading volume? It dropped under $100k!

In my view the best distribution method of the fund left is airdrop to all byteball holders in inverse proportion to Gbytes they have, providing they were kept for at least a month ( to avoid massive dump). The less Gbytes you have the more you get. And it has to be done in one round of airdrop. After this I expect a market will soon warm it up.

Right. So if I create 20 wallets and distribute my bytes among them, I cheat the system?

Right. So if I create 20 wallets and distribute my bytes among them, I cheat the system? You can if you have the timeback machine. Pay attention to this - "providing they were kept for at least a month". The relevant starting point can be chosen to prevent from cheating. Besides wallets are bound to hardware.

I'm a moderator on /r/cryptocurrency and posts like this encouraging people to brigade will result in the post being removed, and in repeated cases or cases where there is implicit or explicit support from moderators of a coin's "official" channels, that cryptocurrency will be banned from the subreddit for some period of time, as has been the case for several coins recently. I support curbing efforts to prevent coordinated brigades in upvotes on Reddit, but IMO banning me (hhugh21) in /r/cryptocurrency for my comment on that thread is a bit excessive. The above post was a commentary on the fact that coins that aren't in favour with the moonboys get instantly downvoted and never see the light of day on the /r/cryptocurrency. So it was a call to restore the imbalance... not to exploit the upvote button. I already don't see the value in participating on that subreddit because for reasons already mentioned... so to be honest by the time it took to write this I've already gotten over the 15 day ban. /r/cryptocurrency is a piece of shit subreddit anyway, never used it never will. I know that the update of the Byteball wallet came out about a week ago, but I just downloaded it....
Finally! My Cinnamon not crashing!
Thanks to all contributors!
UPD. Nope, it's crashing... =(
mine is also crashing it's been like this for ages.

What was his personal negotiated fee for this campaign? i am guessing this unprofessional weasel does not work/scam for free. He must have agreed a fee with you in the outset. What are his terms? i am guessing it is performance based. You do realise that this sig campaign is part of the distribution process and that now is under scrutiny? You do realise giving some unprofessional imbecile no criteria for those that can enter the sig campaign and leaving it to "his own personal choice" is leaving the distributional process wide open to scamming and manipulation. He should have a set of criteria and those that meet that criteria are accepted on a first come first served basis. Otherwise it leave the entire thing open to scamming and kick backs. This goes for all projects and I will be voicing concerns about yahoo weasel to any project I notice considering using his service. If they do not take heed of such warning then the project become suspect. That includes byteball. When i see people that have supported bb and are recognised posters getting told NO and unknown low level accounts getting YES i think there is cause for concern.

you realise someone can be a byteball supporter and a genuinely mediocre poster at the same time, right? i've no idea how this guy operates but it's not his job to get sentimental about past affiliations.

https://steemit.com/byteball/@byteball.market/website-integration-with-byteball-walletsThe latest upgrade of Byteball Market offers users to authenticate themselves in order to keep track of their assets and issuing identities, make modifications and publish asset names to wallets. The authentication is somewhat different to what most of us are used to since it does not require a sign up procedure entering a user name, email or password. Instead, users simply scan a QR code with their Byteball wallet and in the next moment the user is authenticated and logged into the website effectively pairing their device with Byteball Market.

Mike works and saves, so he has 10 apples. John doesn't care and wastes, so he has 1 apple. Let's distribute apples. Ok Mike, you have 10, so you only get 1 for your hard work and planning. John, you only have 1, but although you're wasteful and willing to dump, you get 10 apples. Now you both have 11 (again?). How is this fair? The person that actually saves and believes in the system gets less because he HODLed, while the person that may even have received the same amount initially and dump some/most of it gets more? Note: Good thing I created 100 wallets and split up my Bytes between them (4 months ago). Based on your idea, I will be far better off than had they simply been in the same wallet. The same situation that SEMUX had for their distribution (regarding people with a smaller balance receiving the same amount as those with a larger balance (up to 1BTC on the ratio)).

Have you had plan to expand the campaign for more weeks, tonych? Hope that I will have chances to join Byteball signature campaign in the future. The signature campaign is planned for 4 weeks.
So, why keep using Telegram instead of changing to other platforms which can help campaign managers to find cheater easier and exclude all of them from campaigns.
