It is difficult to say where bitcoin will be in 20 years but we can only hope it stands the test of time. If the transaction cost and time is OK then we will still see bitcoin in the years to come if not then another coin will emerge.

It's not possible for bitcoin increase to its potental price frombnow upto 20 years. It will enough to proof the price will be increase upto 50% 20 years is enough to see the difference of flat money to crypto. Since the value of money is inconcistent same with bitcoin.

Actually bitcoin is full of surprises. We cannot even predict next year, next month or next day so it seems irrational to try to predict 20 years from now.

I feel more like blockchain will be something accepted and of common use, but Bitcoin might be replaced by a better version of itself. Most Probably it won't make it that far. Out of the 21 million more than half will be mined by 2025 so its growth for a long period seems to be nil.Although if it does manage to make it that far all BTC holders can benefit and become extremely wealthy.

Bitcoin will be strong as every even after twenty years time.If bitcoin fades out then all the crypto currency and the businesses that started would fall out and that would be a billion dollar loss and i do think bitcoin will survive the time.

I think bitcoin 20 years from now is bitcoin will be the currency to all the world. And all is settled for a one world government, That if the United Nations agree for the one world government to have one rules and regulations. That everything is under control of a one ruler. Bitcoin also helps for quick transaction like electronics payments. Bitcoin can do anything that if bitcoin settled all people is will be on a high technology of life. Bitcoin after 20 years is a progressive currency now.

Hard to say hard to predict maybe Both of Korea start the war or technological disaster or global warming. Hard to predict anything but all is possible! Maybe will be some tehnologies which allow pay it store with power on mind based on blockchian.

A lot of people here have interesting ideas how Bitcoin can look like in the next 20 years. I'm one of the people who think that Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies will become mainstream in the next 20 years. I wouldn't be surprised if some countries decided to replace fiat with their own cryptocurrency or Bitcoin (assuming that deploying Lightning Network will be successful).

I think you bring up a very valid point here.  Where Bitcoins goes is anybody's guess. However, It is already clear that too many people are reckless with security. Coins are lost, exchanges hacked etc..

Just recently we saw nicehash hacked and coinpouch hacked.

Here's a free tip: Hold on to your coins, but do it properly. Cold/hardware storage. Get a ledger, trezor or equivalent.

In my opinion, 20 years from now, bitcoin price will multiply by 5 or above. Even bitcoin price is high right now, in the future I’m sure that bitcoin price will become very expensive, if any company, establishment, and country accept bitcoin. Bitcoin’s acceptance has a low ranking in our community, and maybe in 20 years from now, bitcoin acceptance become very high.
