Frankly, I don't care if the CEO is the one messing things up, it doesn't excuse their actions. I would rather starve on the streets than work for such a shady, immoral person, but that's just me.
If they go bankrupt nobody will have anything expect for the lawyer Smiley
if they are scanners you wont get anything because they use this trick https://www.law.cornell.edu/wex/bankruptcy_fraud in swedisch law  (f.e Hiding assets in bitcoin.)
and they are to small and in truble lawyers will only destroy them , so not very usefull in any way.
A good lawyer knows this and will offer no cure no pay if they were confident for a case.
so the best chance is wait and see , I had my bonus miner in the end it works quite well.

scammers will not deliver at all.

A miner is not a consumer product.

Male bovine feces and everyone knows it.

http://youtu.be/bxOHAha7MAk?t=45s
"So, ok, KnCMiner as the name implies is making mining equipment, is that right?" Sam Cole: "Yeah, sure, we're making ASIC mining equipment and we're selling to the general public. We're selling fully functional devices that anyone can come and buy."

Thank you for this.  Wink
My pleasure.  Grin

If they go bankrupt nobody will have anything expect for the lawyer Smiley
...etc....
I support pretty much any justifiable action people take against crooks, including that "punching Cole in the dick" bit, lol. We need to get back to the old days, when companies were put out of business for being crooks, not bailed out, or given a pass. We especially need to do this in the Bitcoin world, otherwise it is really no different than the current failing system.

Ok, here's all of the pictures in an album, breakdown to follow below: http://imgur.com/a/zQDSa

Here is how my controller arrived:

The box was fine, as you can see in another picture. It is in a static bag and under that cheapo plastic cover. No way that gets ripped off in transit. That did not stop KnC from claiming I was making a conspiracy out of it, since they "test everything before shipping".  Roll Eyes

Here is the inside of these Bonus Cubes. I had some fun with this one to keep from screaming:

This is the latest fan, looks like some unknown brand from China:

No idea what the CFM specs are on this thing. It is definitely not as good as the KnC branded one, whatever it is.

This is how I have modified the now mostly pointless E heatsink, to make room for some quality heatsinks:

I just marked it with a sharpie, stuck it in a bench vice, had at it with my RotoZip and sanded the edges. x5 Tongue

Here it is installed and tightened properly, with the VRM stickers removed:

In that Cube, I also swapped the fan out for a KnC branded one that I had laying around from my other Neptune's Noctua upgrade.

All five finished, waiting for their heatsinks.

I slightly messed up the one in the upper left corner, cutting it a bit too close to the one screw hole. No biggie, just annoys my perfectionism, lol. The heatsinks should be arriving tomorrow (Tuesday). I will post back with more pictures and updates on how that works out. In any case, I would have done these modifications even if I was only planning to upgrade the fan, since it means better airflow. Not to mention how slanted that E heatsink was put on there, causing a gap between the processor and cooler. Not. Good.

I added my initial temp tests to the album too, the ones I posted on KnC's forum, but I am going to skip those on here for the more recent ones. These are all after my modifications, so it could have run even hotter with the plate and stickers in the way.

Here is the stock temps of 3 of the Bonus Cubes, intake air temp at the time was 75F (24C):

I did not connect all 5 at once, since it would mean having to shutdown my other miner to connect them to the PSU. Fortunately though, all of my Bonus Cubes tested good, with decent undervolting capabilities.

Second temp test at -0.0586V undervolt:

Third temp test at -0.732V undervolt:

Final temp test at the maximum stable undervolting I could get with 500Mhz overclocking:

fair deal ,, this are my results , did only undervolt the hottest dies.

only mod is the fan replacement to a NF-A14 industrialPPC-3000 PWM  at room temp ~20c fan speed ~75 %

any news for TITAN Batch 2 delivery date?

any update regarding legal action against this company?

It was stated on the knc forums (now down) that end of march 2nd batch titans will ship ..i think this was unofficial thru an email to a member on the knc forums that was posted

as to legal action you supposedly have 2 choices

1) 1,500 bucks down (plus any legal expenses if you lose and knc wins) per claimant.

2) nothing down 1/3 share if you win and legal expenses like above split if knc wins

me I'm getting 25% off in equip depreciation (counting this year only 2016 to 2017 left)

so I am somewhat unclear if I would qualify anyway..

not sure if it is worth the risk ...KNC will fight this till the heat death of the universe....could
cost alot for an appeal to appeal ...they imho had 2.5K of Titans 1st batch (supposedly I heard) if that figure is close that is 25 MILLION dollars...you can play lawyer games a long time with that kind $$$

the lawyer fees could get spendy

good luck to all ... I'm still on the fence

'good luck' with swedisch bankrupcy laws.....
The EU court system is very diffrent from the US...
clame culture in sweden is not very effetive for demanding  back your money.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bankruptcy#Sweden

Sweden

In Sweden, bankruptcy (Swedish: konkurs) is a formal process that may involve a company or individual. It is not the same as insolvency, which is inability to pay debts that should have been paid. A creditor or the company itself can apply for bankruptcy. An external bankruptcy manager will take over the company or the assets of the person, trying to sell as much as possible. A person or a company in bankruptcy can not access its assets (with some exceptions).

The formal bankruptcy process is rarely carried out for individuals.[19] Creditors can claim money through the Enforcement Administration anyway, and creditors do not usually benefit from the bankruptcy of individuals because there are costs of a bankruptcy manager which has priority. Unpaid debts remain after bankruptcy for individuals. People who are deeply in debt can obtain a debt arrangement procedure (Swedish: skuldsanering). On application, they obtain a payment plan under which they pay as much as they can for five years, and then all remaining debts are cancelled. Debts that are derived from being subjected to a ban on business operations (issued by court, commonly for tax fraud and/or fraudulent business practices) or owed to a crime victim as compensation for damages, are exempted from this and like before this process was introduced in 2006 will remain lifelong.[20] Debts that have not been claimed during a 3-10 year period will be cancelled. Often crime victims stop their claims after a few years since criminals often do not have job incomes and might be hard to locate, while banks make sure the claims are not cancelled. The most common reasons for personal insolvency in Sweden are illness, unemployment, divorce or company bankruptcy, not the reckless spending claimed by politicians and debt collection agencies when they describe the problem with deep personal debts.

I can understand the frustration of the Neppy folks but the Titan folks might have got thier miners a month or two late (HELLO that happens in this industry)

I lost a good chunk of $$ on the SP30 when they shipped a month or two late as well and I'm not trying to sue.

Plus you got more MHZ than the spec 256 , and you got bonus Titans in March.

WTF are you douches crying about !  its not KNC's fault the Scrypt coin market tanked , that's part of investing .. win some lose most.

You Titan guys are so annoying especially Searing.

At least KNC shipped .  Go look at the HASRA thread , Fib Thread, MAT thread, Alpha and more that i care to name.

If anything you should be washing KNC's balls if you are a Titan owner since you have one of only two Scrypt ASIC that shipped in late 2014

I can't imagine how this thread would look if they pulled an Alpha on you guys lol.

A month or two late? Try a quarter or two late, point being that market aside they blew commitments and unlike Spondoolies they mined with customer equipment instead of satisfying customer commitments that were made, and now have been delivering used equipment to customers to satisfy deliveries..

Your point about them being better than some companies is a joke, if that was the measuring stick for any company or individual breaking the law the world would be a sad place.. I can you standing over the dead corpse of your significant other using your logic, "well I'm not that bad, I only killed one"

well hate to tell you they advertised an ALT COIN MINER they then changed their mind when it could not do a decent speed on ALT coins (or work at all) and went back and kept the dates after changing their old web pages and now say it was always a LTC COIN MINER ..(keeping the old dates when they changed the web page) and my unit (middle of the titan pack) was more then 2 months late too boot....so imho if it did not do alts from day one at a decent speed and it took them 2 or 3 months to 'kinda sorta' do alts now (still best speed is on LTC pool) well ....come on....it can't all be KNC's we have NO  responsibility with the above and some of their other actions and it is all the customers fault....

I could go on with about 6 other things as well...but the above is plenty imho to get a refund from a 'reputable company' which KNC is NOT! (at least anymore)

also your 'argument' above on hashra etc ...that they 'all try to screw us by being late' argument would not fly as the 'business only' sales company they claim to be.

so they have a hell of a lot more issues then just being late!

How I install image at sd card any details

i used this for img copy

http://sourceforge.net/projects/win32diskimager/

I'd keep your old SD  say 1.97 img as a backup and just use a new SD to try this

I assume that you can still just img 1.02 onto an SD card as well and hit the upgrade button?

but myself....i always 'retire' my prev SD version (in the last case 1.97) and just make a new SD (i use Scandisk 8gb class 10 on the Titan $6.99 new on ebay 5 cost $34 bucks)
and if i have issues ..just pop in the previous version SD before the attempted upgrade

Get lost, they sold a $10,000 machine and shipped them late in an "alpha" state many people received non working dies ending up with less than 150mhs, not talking about the double amount of wattage needed to run this unstable shit. (not talking about the fact that a decent psu couldn't run it since they didn't send you the Y cables only but one month after that)

I wonder, what would you do if you've bought a brand new Ferrari and received it without seats and wheels and your engine consumes twice the amount of gas...   dumbass.

I can't imagine how this thread would look if they pulled an Alpha on you guys lol.

have you seen the status of the Scrypt hardware market ? KNC is basically the ONLY company that delivered and they sent you bonus machines.   At least they delivered.  Either way
you all messed up for doing pre-order anyways after you already KNEW thy fucked over the Neptune guys a quarter before you.

If anything you should cut your losses sell the miners for 5k (yes they are going for 2500 on ebay right now)  I'm sure you have at least mined 2-3k worth of coins its not a total loss.

Most other folks that pre-ordred scrypt asics got ... drumroll NOTHING.   Heck if you sold the units a few weeks ago along with the bonus unit you might even have broke even.

Who got a bonus Titan unit ? show me one person that got at least 50% of his 10-12K investment. ( not talking about the guys that sold their preorder on ebay long ago.)

can it be undervolted to ~200w per cube?
You could do a combo of undervolting and underclocking to get it down that low, but your hashrate would suck.

Ok, updating from my last post...

First, here is why I was not fond of the Noctua fan's results:

That is the Delta 92mm @ 160CFM, compared to the KnC branded fan. It was my initial test, pulled from a Dell XPS 600, to see how well the Noctua might do.

Then this was the Noctua's results:

Undecided For the cost, it was not much of an improvement over stock and the Delta did much better for the same CFM.

So, on the cut-corners, super cheapo, no warranty Bonus Neptune, I wanted to try the heatsink idea I had saved away from the same time (July 2014).

Enter the Enzotech BRM-C1 Pure Forged Copper 14mm x 14mm x 14mm heatsink.  Cool
Picture of them installed:

Unfortunately, with the stock fan, they also do not cool as well as I had hoped. It is probably the 3M thermal pad with its low thermal conductivity. I bought some Arctic Silver Thermal Adhesive (ASTA-7G) to replace it, so I will report back on how that goes. The Enzos will get you down to the 80s to lower 90s Celsius range on the stock fan though, with some undervolting. They also cost about half of what the Noctuas do and you are not running 42 decibels of noise. You just have to do a little labor on the E heatsink. *gasp* Tongue Of course, if the $ does not bother you, you could go all out and do both a fan upgrade and the heatsinks.

Tip: Everyone should undervolt as far as they can anyways. On the Neptune, you do not lose any hasrate by undervolting, so not undervolting just means you are wasting power. If you do notice a slight hashrate drop, it means one or more dies is too low and is not running stable. Watch them, wait to see the unstable one act up, then bump it up one notch. Done. Wink

I wish I knew what brand the KnC fan is, since it would likely be the best value. It looks like an EverCool, but I do not see one with high enough CFM. It is in-between the BitFenix (122CFM) and the Noctua (159CFM), so it should be in the 130CFM range.

Here is the Enzotech heatsink temperature breakdown for the 4 mentioned fan brands:

Stock Voltage and Frequency settings:

Stock Voltage with Frequency Overclock:

Max Undervolting and Frequency Overclock:

I still need to swap that Speedy fan and one of the BitFenix, just to make sure the Speedy really is the cause of the higher temps. So, according to KnC's email, they could source some lower CFM, cheap unknown fan, but they could not source the publicly available BitFenix? Riiiigghhht.  Roll Eyes

I wonder if their forum will ever come back, since it looks like they are aiming to wash the site clean. Gotta love them quoting Satoshi Nakamoto. Like that quote somehow excuses them from screwing their customers by unapologetically going back on their 5% promise and building massive farms that kill any chance of us reaching ROI.  Just another bucket of excrement that they toss in our face.
