Why are people replacing bridgeboards ? Under what circumstances and in what way do they fail ?

Who said that we replacing bridgeboards ?

I personally do  new TITAN controllers from Jupiter and Neptune controllers.

Yeah, ~500GH/s worth of power is gone. Is another scrypt coin suddenly crazy profitable? Or maybe the rest of KNCs mine has been shutdown?

A KNC mine shutdown might fit this scenario real well. Usually when a company enter "liquidation" from Bankruptcy, somebody is tasked with selling off the assets. A bunch of mining gear is a ready asset to be sold, but has to be shutdown and made ready for sale. Depending on who (and when) buys them, it might come back over time assuming LTC is profitable.

This kind of liquidation process could easily happen, even if the mine is operating at a solid profit. The liquidators job is to produce cash (i.e. fiat) NOW, to pay off creditors and such.

Still have not received anything in Florida.

Today, the package arrived in Florida. Of course, with traceable service, according to which it is posted at the same time as the other buyers  packages.

Everyone does their own conclusions .. who lied, and for what reason.

Anyway,  with a seller who writes his largest buyer of goods all this crap, I do not want to have anything to do in the future.

Well thank god you'll shutup about it now. Though don't assume you're the largest buyer of my "goods". I don't only sell those bridge boards. But it was hell dealing with you as a customer. So there's that.

Well thank god you'll shutup about it now. Though don't assume you're the largest buyer of my "goods". I don't only sell those bridge boards. But it was hell dealing with you as a customer. So there's that.

As I seem you start  again, and will not be able to keep your mouth shut?

Then again  some  of your lies.

1. June 03, 2016, 05:08:05 PM

Alright, I just received my second batch of Titan Bridge Boards. 3-4 boards are still available to be sold before I ship everything out to everybody (lowered price of 0.20 BTC each since I ordered a bigger batch this time.). If you want one, be sure to PM me.
2.  12, 2016, 01:34:21 PM

Hey there, missed your PM. Yes they have shipped. To prevent both sides from losing any time or money I shipped them with an ECO post mail. So no tracknumber just yet. I'll let you know when I get it.
3.qberty on June 24, 2016, 03:59:56 PM
Yes, I already told you I shipped them out at the beginning of the week.
4.qberty on June 24, 2016, 04:41:26 PM

Looks like english is not your first language.  Requote: I shipped them with an ECO post mail. In english, "shipped" is the past tense word of "ship". When someone "shipped" something, that means it has already happen. Past tense.

I told you I shipped them out already.
5.
.....
So stop this (also to Tupsu, you've sent me your tracking number like 3-4 times in PM so I don't know what you're talking about. Just wait for your boards.)
....
6.

You need to calm down. I shipped your package, and you will receive it when you receive it. It was a crazy large package and to ship things from my area in Canada is expensive. I can go on and on to justify why I didn't get a tracking number (regardless if tracking numbers are meant for the shipper, and not the receiver), but you just won't listen. Despite ordering from me from batch one and receiving that order late as well you seem to mistake me for a company that has a PR department as well as customer service. I'm one guy that is doing all parts of the production and packing and shipping. Let's see you ship 100's of devices you get to even more people and not get people like you who are complaining....
7.
...Again Tupsu calling me a liar when I have the bills of proof that I shipped. Just no tracking number for his shipment. I don't care if you "believe" it or not. I sold my product, you paid for it, I shipped it out. That's all there is. ...
8.
...There is nothing in my history that shows that I should not ship or have lied about anything. Just because I didn't pay extra for the tracking number Tupsu is going apeshit...
9.
...I did not make a mistake to ship it without tracking. I have no obligation to provide tracking to the customers as a shipper of a product...
10.
... There is no legal requirement to provide tracking with any shipment whatsoever. It's a choice i'm allowed to make based on the factors I find important. In this case, it was how much more expensive it would have been.

With a big package like Tupsu's, both balls end up in my court because it's a lot of product, plus it's an irreversible payment. This leaves me not needing to get tracking....

The fact is that you sent it at the same time as the other buyers packages.  End of the Juni.

Fakt is, that is not big package, It is air-mail envelope.

Fakts is, that this air-mail envelope  is send out from Canada with a tracing number.

The fact is that I can  prove all that.
.

The only proper sentence from you:

Anyway, my point is, I shipped it, I have proof I shipped it (during the month of June).

Just popping in since power and its distribution is part of my thing... "The thinnest trace in the bridge board" Perhaps KnC's idea of a fusible link vs using a picofuse?
You too? I normally work in the 300-1000amp range at around 300v DC, but I see the same failures in the mining world: Namely

NEVER SUPPLY MORE CURRENT THAN THE SMALLEST COMPONENT CAN HANDLE. IF YOU DO, FUSE THAT PORTION OF THE LINE.

This is why miners explode into flames: The unit may be built for 40 amps input at 12 volts, so not much of a problem when you run it off a 500 watt power supply. If it shorts it crowbars the supply. But what happens if you hook it up to a buss that can supply 5,000 watts (and runs multiple miners). When it shorts that 40a line is dropping 5,000a and it turns into a pretty fireball.

This is why you have a 1a fuse on a capacitor pre-charge circuit; if a cap shorts it fitzes the fuse instead of fireballing the contactor.

This happens with Titans from time to time, I get units in that have a cap short and the supply is fused to the board. Because it was being powered by a honking big supply without a fuse in series. KNC could have put in fuses (some early miners like those block erupter blades did have them) but that would cost an extra buck.....

And if they did that they would have had to put optoisolators on the FPGA outputs and the level converters in the Titan. You know to keep them from blowing the fuck up..... Another buck.

Options when repairing: Insert a 1 or 2a pico fuse to what feeds the RasPi. Quick, cheap and dirty version, use a piece of 30ga wire-wrapping wire perhaps

Here is my new platinum dual 2560w Server PSU hack for anyone interested using a KNC Jupiter case. Figured what the heck had to zip tie it all together anyway. Doing so
with the KNC Jupiter case luggable/portable kinda sorta it may be made sense.

thread I started on this hack below

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1545455.msg15533861#msg15533861

Complete build pics of he process are below.

lostgonzo.imgur.com

sample pic below so you get the idea

Anyway 2x the power of a Corsair 1200i platinum PSU for the same price and platinum efficiency. Well it works great.

Anyway looking for a psu server hack and info check out the above links.

enjoy!

man these have to be the most off topic posts EVER on the Swedish ASIC miner thread Smiley

Question...

Would anyone find it useful to have a checkbox in SYSTEM tab something to the effect of "boost rpi performance"
It would apply a mild OC to the pi that *should* work on all pi's the Titan uses.
Ive noticed w/ the rpi @ 1ghz vs stock and a few other items OC'd ... the CPU is not always pegged at 100% when Titan is mining, like stock is.

Given that blowing the RPI Cpu will result in the bridge board blowing I would say not a great idea. :-)

the CPU on the rpi can, in most cases, hit 950mhz w/o even a voltage bump. Its when people start crammin a ton of voltage at rpi's CPU that it dies.
But thats cool =) , less work for me. Ive been running pi @ 1ghz w/o issue for 3/4 a year now.

I know. But every Bridge Board I have fixed came with a Rpi that was dead shorted on the CPU. Those things are garbage for 24*7, they should have stuck with the beaglebones. So what we really should do is just port the Titan code over to the BB. Which I would do but I keep being too lame to finish it.

I don't mind the work or bitcoin, but I would prefer if people never had the problem in the first place and could mine like hell. :-)

Well I finally junked my KNC Jupiter.

Had the miner for a little over a year, almost ran for a year. Bought it second hand really cheap. Made ROI many many times over.

Had the worse W/GHS out of any miner I had in the past (1.333W/GHS).

Parted out the controller for people who needed one for their Neptune/Titans
Parted out the fans and they are cooling my 280X which had dead fans.
Parted out the PCIe extension cables for many GPU mining projects.

Everything else was junked.

Original MSRP: $5000
Current Value: $0

So sad...
