i have 2 jupiters in the first batch, but i`m thinking about canceling at least 1 of them

i would keep them if i`d get some kind of refund (as the october ones come in discounted)
October ones are discounted? Only discounted ones I know of don't ship tell after November 15th,

No he doesn't know what he's talking about. No discounts until November.
That's what I figured,  still amazes me how many people spend money on theses things, and don't bother educating them selves about there purchase, not sure if they just don't bother reading up on it, or just don't comprehend it.

i meant the October orders are sold with a DISCOUNT that they could apply to the pre-orders as well
Why I'm the world should there be a discount? Don't you know you will make more then there discount back having it a month beforehand?  I know it don't take a rocket scientist to mine, but shit a little common senses wouldn't hurt

Hmmm......I get the impression that the pre-orders will actually be clocked higher than those to come in Nov. judging by the recent news.

The more important bit of info from this is that, as believed by some of us here to begin with, KNC is having folks physically transport the chips during these transits, in order to bypass customs delays.
Multiple couriers and paths.

This James Bond shit with multiple couriers carrying suitcases chained to their arms, with chips inside, is getting seriously funny.

I'm grateful for his work but his attitude is total shit.

meeh, sadly I must agree with you at this point.

Granted, there have only been a couple interactions, but Kano has been quite cool to me. I told him up front I was a newbie, and he was very helpful. All he got out of it for now was my thanks. Once I get seriously into the game, I do intend to support the CGminer development with a donation(s) as I go. Which I did say up front.

What he told me in PM was that it is far EASIER to develop and debug support for hardware if it's in hand, and that yes, they hope to make a few coins doing it. I didn't see that as unreasonable.

No prototype, no integration and testing, they went all-in... All of the chips' success hang on OrSoC's expertise in FPGA->ASIC conversion, and if they succeed, their miner will not last more than a couple of months before turned into reserve hashing power, high risk/low reward business model  Cool

The good thing is, all these reserve hashing power will ensure a high barrier of entry so that future investors will only need to buy coins directly

http://www.coindesk.com/kncminer-offers-free-speed-increase-first-bitcoin-miner-shipments/

Sam Cole, co-founder of KnCMiner, said the fabrication process of the chips has been completed and they are now on their way to an assembly house in Asia, before being shipped to KnCMiner’s offices in Sweden in around six days’ time

The more important bit of info from this is that, as believed by some of us here to begin with, KNC is having folks physically transport the chips during these transits, in order to bypass customs delays.

I'm sure someone will come up with new fears now. "These folks will take the chips and run!!!"

Multiple couriers and paths.  Chips cannot be used anywhere else.

Ransom.  I think a diamond importer would have said secrecy is the key.

Yeah - I was being a smart-ass.   I'm just thinking that most of the people that aren't hashing yet are planning on starting once they receive their rigs.

50 BTC is straight PPS, correct?  I've hashed for most of the pools, but never a straight PPS pool.  How does it pay versus others, like Slush?

EDIT:

Can't get to their webpage for some odd reason....

its all good, lol.

yeah, i guess its just suprising (and scary) to see so many people join that arent even mining now. make me think there are a lot of novices.

yes, 50btc is pure pps. its a 3% fee but income is incredibly consistent and payouts are instant. plus i just like the aesthetics of the site. i havent mined at slush, but i have heard good things about his pool as well....

hmmm, thats odd. www.50btc.com ?

Am I the only one who believes that KNC has several employees on location in Taiwan monitoring every step of the process? I have a hard time believing with this much of their (our) money on the line they would phone this one in. When they say multiple couriers, I suspect it will be the on-the-ground engineers themselves bringing the booty back home victoriously. Would you trust Fedex or DB Schencker to transport your precious chips? Hell no, you buy the seat in coach next to you to bring them home.
