Is that bare ASICs with thermal paste on top? Where are the heat sinks? bouncing around playing pinball with everything else...knocking off resistors and who knows what else??? not sure, but you can kinda see them in the background, if not in the other pics or the album pics. Weren't the radiators supposed to be mounted with screws? Last time there were some problems with coolers falling off the radiators, but radiators falling off is simply retarded. well if you look at pictures of their DEATHSTAR, i mean imean datorhall or whatever, you will see that these are probably the same boards they had their exposed and out of case on shelving, probably on stand offs, so no need to screw down the heat sinks... SO WHY WOULD ANY ENGINEER THINK THAT YOU WOULD NEED TO SCREW THEM DOWN TO SHIP? because he got paid millions and doesn;t give a shit anymore, thats why he wouldnt!

Lawsuit, dude. That's a pile of BS they sent you guys. Avenger pegged this one. I think he looked into Joe's crystal ball for a bit.
You didn't need my crystal ball to know the screwing was going to continue. You guys who choose frankenjups or didn't refund are like abused women........."But I love KNC, they wouldn't hurt me again" When you start a company you worry about the happiness of every customer, When you are swimming in a tsunami of cash and your business is hugely successful, your tune changes to "What's a customer? Help me count this money" Till months before his death Steve Jobs was STILL replying directly to customers emails, customers who he never lost touch with, Sam Cole is no Steve Jobs. KNC has no advantage over most any of their competitors except a little less power consumption (allegedly) so those who opted for frankenjups didn't care about power consumption and those that still hold on for the Neptunes are already underwater even if they deliver 4th For $6k you can buy 3TH from Antminer and have it Monday, $8 for 4TH and you paid $10k? $12k and you will wait until 3rd quarter to get delivery? At this juncture my crystal ball tells me that KNC is better off with EVERYONE refunding and they use the customer Neptunes in their data center and sell any Jupiter Modules that don't fit in the after/used market. So says the Crystal Ball

Will these even work right without a true hold down? I just got mine and I am a bit dazed. No cases for the controllers, none of the fans where hooked up, and then noticed they use the lid and plastic clips to keep the heat sinks on the chips.

I held on hoping that they would come close to their B/B+ performance with Neptune/Frankenjup as they did with the OG Jupiter.... boy was I wrong. Not a KNC fanboy/lover nor was I a hater but....but.....I will wait to see how they handle this before tirading some more (if that even is a word)

If there would be no harm I would rofl all evening, but this is too sad. Really. I can feel your pain. Are there at least mounting holes for the fans and just the screws are missing? Or is this a total misconstruction with no possibility at all to mount the fans except with thermal paste? btw, there's a glimpse of light for you I'd say. They seem to be willing to compensate this time, hope the best for you (maybe ending up with additional hashes). http://forum.kncminer.com/forum/main-category/hardware/36790-got-delivery-of-the-super-jupiters-wtf-knc?p=36849#post36849

You have my heartfelt condolences on the screwing they gave you. Hopefully they will make it right ship you new stuff and you can fix the old stuff and come out ahead.

Could you claim damages in court for putting yourself in danger by not having any information about powering on miners(damaged or not)?

But aren't they breaking their own rules by selling to private persons? Where is the B2B if they don't have the receipt for a company?

These things were prevented in some degree in previous batches. What is happening to KnC? Did some employees left the company so quality control degrades so much?

I wonder whether there is a customer out there with an actual working unit?

I wouldn't wait too long. Or like last year, knc will figure out some cheap bastard way of pushing the cost of the damages onto YOU. It would be disgusting, but not out of character for KNC to insist YOU ship all their garbage back to them at YOUR expense and then they put some gaffer tape on it and return it. Their hardware is not tested to comply with any EU standards. I think a few emails (with pictures) to the right european standards organisations and you can force KNC to be more generous in taking care of the situation than they have done previously. I would not rely on KNC to be benevolent or honest in this situation if they've fucked up 100's of orders, which it looks like they have by design. They probably made about $5-6000 profit on each of these machines and they won't want to lose any of that putting right their mistakes. Take that from someone who's been burned with garbage hardware from knc in the past. Don't take any shit from them - demand they repair it TOTALLY at THEIR expense and pronto. Or else contact the Swedish authorities and let them know just what kind of garbage the "we see no reason why we can't be as big as facebook" fairy-tale Swedish start-up are shipping worldwide for $10000+.

My pile off crap arrived today. Luckily nothing loose fell out of any of the units but all of the heatsinks have slid around, some of them completely off the ASICs.
I managed to get 2 of the 6 boxes running so far but only 4 of the 6 ASICs are hashing at ~650GHs. The other two are dead although nothing appears obviously wrong. They don't even show in the admin.
Moving the heatsinks back onto the chips is pretty difficult. Nothing holds them in place except the lid of the case. And the case is riveted shut. Even more difficult is hooking the fans back up to the board. You need a long narrow pinching device and LOTS of patience.
And no, I'm not an abused KNC lover. Why do people feel the need to judge others on our decisions? I chose this option because it shipped fast and a refund was out of the question for me. I did have plenty of reservations about my decision but I never imagined it would be this blatantly awful.
Edit: at least they shipped fast! Lol.

xstr8guy, look for missing resistors in the bottom of the box, look carefully they are very very small. If the heatsinks/fans were to be held in place by compressed foam against the top of a flimsy aluminum case travelling half way around the world then IT DIDN'T WORK!! not on the OG jupiter and certainly not on these. And the bouncing of the heatsink is what knocks of the resistor and capacitor and whatever else gets damaged. This is sad, and I thank all those for their empathy and condolences....I am better and life goes on.
