Bitcoin is being used widely in porn sites, gambling and drug dealing sectors.
do you actually have some reliable reference for this? or are you saying this because you saw some popular topics in this board filled with hundreds of comment? Is that why the btc made for ? I have seen a lot of members in this forum discussing about buying drugs, gambling and enjoying porn with bitcoin. Is not it a misuse of a currency ? Block chain tech is a awesome tech and btc is getting popular. I hate these misuses of precious btc. It hurts me. This will lead into unhealthy society along with unhealthy future generation.
of course bitcoin is not made for that. it is a currency first of all and that makes it the same as any other currency, people use them to pay for all kinds of things. you can pay for your bills or buy drugs with both USD and BTC. not much difference there. I have seen thousands of posts and comments regarding uses of bitcoin in porn and gambling. You can find it in this forum with minimum effort too. I know bitcoin has great potentials and I also know that there are some bad user of bitcoin like any other currency. But my point is, those bad users are a lot in number. And as bitcoin is not globally adopted, those users really play great impact on impression of btc, I guess Take it easy friend, is their bitcoin let them do what they wish. Bitcoin is far beyond the usage of few negative minds that used it for negative things. Don't forget people also use fiat to buy drugs or make payments for porn sites also. I believe bitcoin is reshaping how people will use money in the future. Don't let the activities few negative people with bitcoin ruin your day. Use bitcoin the way you like it and let rest of the world use it too... That's what is called freedom! |

I am not sure what other currencies that can be beaten by bitcoin that you were saying - is it other altcoins or fiat money? Bitcoin had been noticed by lots of people and by big investors already and some government officials area already have some knowledge about bitcoin and yes, it will only be the time can tell in the coming years whether or not bitcoin will soar ven higher or not. |

I heard that some of transactions involve in bitcoin are illegal. So perhaps some preferred bitcoin over fiat because of its anonymity. Highly concealed transactions involving drugs, arms, assassination, and the like use bitcoin as a form of payment.
really? Well peole prefer bitcoin over fiat because bitcoin is an investment and no taxes involve it is easy to use and it is a kind of most profitable investment that any kind of people can join as long as they have an internet.it is an opportunity. You are right there mate. With bitcoin, there are really more features and opportunities to be made at this point in time than with fiat money where it will just keep on losing its value due to inflation because of overproducing of fiat paper while bitcoin has a max limit which makes it more valuable if we look at it. In terms of making money bitcoin is a great investment, when majority of the users are very satisfied with the technology they will help us spread the good news and the next thing will happen is an increase in demand. We as investors if we buy at the current price now we will get more profit in the future as with the limited supply there is a chance of decreasing due to lost supply while demand is efficiently increasing. Yes bitcoin is a great investment those people who want to make money easy they join bitcoin and they are too happy to seem there profit are double invest in future so there are too many people who to trade with in bitcoin .and they believe the lasts technology . |

For me in my own opinion about people choosing bitcoin over fiat is that since bitcoins are more popular and more in demand people who do trades would rather choose which is the most in demand and sought after products which the masses are looking. It’s a common thing about supply and demand. And for now since bitcoin grow really fast compared to fiat then I can say that its one of the main reason why more people choose bitcoin.

Yes nice point but i think people prefer bitcoin becuase bitcoin can use to transact you dont need fiat money becuase even you're at hone you can use this to transaction to others and the bitcoin is totally increasing while the value of fiat is stable. |

If you're already familiar with the technology, it's easier to use than fiat in cases where it's accepted. It's far more convenient than credit cards, and you can actually pay less in fees.

Yes nice point but i think people prefer bitcoin becuase bitcoin can use to transact you dont need fiat money becuase even you're at hone you can use this to transaction to others and the bitcoin is totally increasing while the value of fiat is stable. beside that, with the high price now, bitcoin is more worthy than our money so if we use bitcoin as a payment, we only need to use small part of bitcoin. i am trying this if for example i want to buy prepaid card and if i use money then i need to transfer and go to the ATM machine or by internet banking which will have additional fees. but if i use bitcoin, i don't have to pay another thing, i just send the amount plus the fee and then the transaction is made. |

even though fiat is centralized that can be use in all transaction bitcoins provides total security better than that of fiat. the misuse of bitcoins depends solely on the people who use it. |

I think people prefer bitcoin over fiat because bitcoin transactions are anonymous and there is no third party that can manipulate with your transaction in any way . Also the bitcoin price factor is universal and it is same for everyone ,for me for you and for everyone anywhere in this world unlike fiats .It also foster the possibilities of low cost digital transactions.Since the bitcoin is rising at the rocketing pace so features like anonymity,security and control makes it more popular than fiat.

Most people probably prefer bitcoin because it is a more valuable currency, appreciating in value over the long term (so far) whereas most fiat currencies lose value and purchasing power over time. Of course bitcoin has other uses also, for example many "underground" pharmaceutical sites require bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies for payment, and it also used for some gaming sites that use real money but cannot qualify for PayPal because there may be some type of gambling component to their games, which PayPal does not allow.
Although apparently porn sites also accept bitcoin for payment, it is difficult to understand why anyone would actually use bitcoin for something like this. I have never paid for porn in my entire life even though I have been on the Internet since 1999. Nowadays there is more than enough porn that can be had for free with simple searches and bookmarking without even having to resort to torrents or pirated stuff. Of course once you have seen sufficient amounts of porn (or read some good erotica, which can be incredibly arousing even though there is no video) and you have a functioning brain with a good memory and imagination like I do, it becomes possible to get yourself off quite well by creating your own fantasies or simply remembering erotic scenes from previous stories or videos. At any rate, even if one was desperate enough to pay for porn it does not make sense to use bitcoin for this as long as there is an option to use fiat or some other less valuable currency.

I agree with your statement. It is really alarming that Bitcoin is being used in to these bad things making it look like Bitcoin's purpose is for that. One thing for sure is it is not. However, because of its characteristics as a cryptocurrency, peopl tend to use it in these kinds of activities. I think mainly because it is transacted easier than fiat money and their identity can also be protected. And because of that, many people who are engaged in those activities tend to invite even the Bitcoin investors to be part of their market. |

That is right, that is why they prefer bitcoin over fiat because of the opportunity to earn more money if they will put it on bitcoin because they can earn by doing nothing in bitcoin and it can occur anytime because the market of bitcoin is so volatile and it is like a jackpot to invest in bitcoin and if you will hold it for long then it will definitely result for a very huge gain for your investment. |

In all fairness, transactions with fiat money are almost the same and instant and there is a transfer fees with bitcoin for payment received. It also the same, when it comes to fluctuation, that bitcoin price also fluctuates. But in terms of features, I agree with you there that people loves the bitcoin idea and that is one of the very reasons many invested on bitcoin. |
