It depends on how your local government have set up their jurisdiction. In some cases you do have to pay tax over large purchases (e.g. property, investments in your house, cars, etc). It's not that Bitcoin offers anyone a free life without paying tax. That's something a lot people here seem to think.

To me it's not important at all. Why would you (and others) care about what is happening in a 'closed' part of the internet the far majority of the people don't even know what it exactly is? I just don't understand why people constantly worry about what others do. In one case people shouldn't be holding their coins as it is "against" Bitcoin. Other case is that people shouldn't be able to purchase drugs with Bitcoin because they are "destroying" the image of Bitcoin. It's all nonsense. People must do what they think is right. If they purchase drugs, so be it. If they stock up their coins without any intentions of spending, so be it.

I get your point of thinking, but it is not like that in my opinion, because with fiat u can pay basically anywhere, without any problem ( unless you have wrong currency ),
and with bitcoin, you can only pay in few stores so we need to take some time before saying things like that

well people are mostly using bitcoin as an investment and so far it has been a great investment for those who are trading it day to day and also for those that have been going long by just buying some and putting it away in a cold storage for ages.

but people are not just preferring bitcoin because it is an investment they do it because bitcoin is decentralized and also it gives them more anonymity than fiat can give them. also merchants prefer it because it has no charge-back.

I am pretty sure that you are in urgent need to learn enough about the bitcoin and not rely only in news media and TV channels from your country. Everywhere you buy things you pay taxes because the last price which equals the net value plus tax is converted from fiat to bitcoin the transaction time. As an example assuming that someone wants to buy ledger nano. On the other side if someone uses bitcoin in deep web is more easier for law enforcement authorities to catch him in contrast with fiat money because bitcoin is not anonymous but only pseudonymous.

Bitcoin is being used widely in porn sites, gambling and drug dealing sectors. Is that why the btc made for ? I have seen a lot of members in this forum discussing about buying drugs, gambling and enjoying porn with bitcoin. Is not it a misuse of a currency ? That's not the main reason why some people choose bitcoin over fiat, we the supporters of bitcoin chooses it because we believe we can get benefits form it in the future. As it continue to exists we see the value increases as well and that is what we are after.

Totally agree. For me people use bitcoin for investment because the bitcoin price is pumping and pumping since the day it was created. Me myself using and investing bitcoin because I think that bitcoin is have a bright future some speculations says that bitcoin will reach 25,000$ this upcoming year so it is worth the risk because there's so many supporters of bitcoin all around the world. People use bitcoin because of it's uniqueness for example the hassle free transaction and as I said before the pumping price of it. The price is the no.1 factor for me for people be attracted to use bitcoin. So let's hope for the best for bitcoin.

well it depends on where you buy it from, if it is from an ordinary online shop then you would still need to pay taxes as they usually just convert bitcoins to fiat and then process your order in fiat instead of bitcoins. I prefer bitcoins over fiat because the price of the bitcoin can be booming in the future while fiat is always gonna be stable or even go down a little bit with time.

if you have the wealth and income in the real world. of course everything you earn and your riches such as cars and motorcycles will be taxed. whereas regardless of the wealth in the bitcoin will not be taxed

In some countries, taxes are not fully collected due to the lack of laws. Bitcoin is good in this field which helps us not to pay tax in some developed countries such as the US or the UK. Moreover, Bitcoin is more secure than traditional money and we have to admit the benefits of it. The world will be much better if all of us use Bitcoin instead of FIAT

The fact is bitcoin can be use for good and bad purpose as it is just an online currency which is a tool for transaction, the owner of bitcoins has the right on how to spend his bitcoins and we cannot deny that there are really people who would take advantage on the anonymity of bitcoin and uses it in illegal transactions. Their actions does not make the image of bitcoin bad because clearly there are more people who are using bitcoin in legitimate transaction than in illegal transactions, and with the regulations of the government, the illegal transactions will be minimize.

The trade of bitcoin for goods or services is very less as compared to that of Fiat.
But still there are some firms or forums which accept bitcoin in the form of payment etc.
Mostly the use of bitcoins is for gambling , Casino, drug trade , creating premium accounts in porn sites etc.

This might be due to we are having same name for unit and for the system. Bitcoin is the only name for the unit we are transacting and the whole system we are into.

I agree there are a lot of earning opportunities coming only due to the introduction of bitcoin ecosystem and before bitcoins, we are not finding these many opportunities with fiats. Cloud mining/faucets/signature campaign are few example for it.

No fiats nor gold is is giving good ROI and bitcoin staying as the leader in the investment industry. This must be the biggest reason, people are preferring bitcoin over fiat. I guess this will continue for centuries because bitcoin prices are speculated to grow rapidly due to its potentials.
