There’s no news.  It’s just noise.

Prices went up quite significantly, some retracements are the norm. There's no indication of any insider dumping going on here.

Holy shit. I think I'm unofficially retired as of an hour ago.

It hasn't hit me yet.

Making it official with a select group tomorrow, then telling my direct manager on Friday.

Wow.

I can't believe I actually pulled this plan off...

Congrats!

Congrats!

I retired on 1/14/18....so a bit more than a month, the 1st month was pretty busy...tax mess from crypto mining (my income stream now) HODL mode...too much time in pajamas on bitcointalk.....had time to make a couple killing on stuff in that I don't work....(garlicoin) and some other stuff....

still somewhat befuddled however...and I feel like I am a 6-year-old who just got done looking at a playboy....feel kinda dirty...and have no idea why..no context...

same thing, not working..I wake up everyday feeling like I'm gonna miss an appointment or need to be someplace..what is it 'phantom work syndrome?"

some kinda PTSD as a former 'worker ant' I guess Sad

anyway, spend a lot more time looking at house procrastinating projects (painting/fix plumbing/etc) that seems to be a constant from when I had a job that has not changed....

but it is weird, you will find that out for sure...

Maybe you need some study commitments so you have something to worry about?  Cheesy

I would be off snowboarding.  Sitting in some chalet somewhere drinking hot chocolate and waiting for the storm to roll in.  Give it some time.

[edited out]

I don't like to be very specific to avoid profiling (as if anyone would be interested in profiling me... call me paranoid). I will try though:

1) $100K would be ok. ...

I hope that has covered all the questions without giving more information about me than I would be confident. Oh and I already have a nice home, fine car and am completely DEBT FREE (Not thanks to Bitcoin as I have never cashed out a single penny yet). And no children nor family to support. That makes my current needs very modest and easy to fullfill, even if for the rest of my lifetime (not there YET... unless I were to die in a decade or two).

I think that you have adequately answered all of the questions. so thanks for that.  I don't really believe that we need to disclose any of our specific BTC holdings in order to discuss at what levels of prices would allow us to make substantial life changes due to BTC price rises (or anticipated rises).

Sometimes you will find me and others baiting posters into disclosing aspects of their BTC holdings and surely any of us will understand if you keep some of your specifics private.

I believe that with a large number of traditional investments, they theorize that you should be able to withdraw around 4% per year from your investment in order to maintain the principle in the long run...   It is possible that bitcoin could perform so well that it allows for higher withdrawal rate levels that would still preserve the principle - including the possibility of 10% per year withdrawals... but conservatively 4% is usually safe with a traditionally diversified portfolio of investments....

so one thing is withdrawing and maintaining the principle, and another thing is if you decide to draw down on your principle as well of course none of us will live for ever and one of the most certain things in our life is that we are going to die.. not meaning to end on a negative note.

NOT.

Dumbass

Which part?  Are you signing and referring to yourself, or did you have some kind of an emotional outburst that you could not contain?.

Might you NOT understand that a large portion of any battle when interacting through quasi-anonymous forums is not to lose your cool?

The principle seems to apply in real life interactions, too... that is assuming that you are a person rather than a bot.

I'm mostly a bot.....

The highlighted part is almost exactly what I said before, so since I am a dumbass you must also be one. You don't have to lose your cool, It's ok to be a dumbass. Just accept it, embrace it.

Congratulations!
Do you have any plans as to what you're going to do from now on?

- Catch up on sleep
- Move to Texas
- Play lots of vidya
- Work on writing / recording music
- Work with vocal coach for refining my range
- Lots of reading
- Lots of gym time
- Lots of lounging by the pool, and being sexy pool boy for Big Dicked Ginger Rick while he continues to work for a few years more
- Bitcoin Lightning Network involvement with running a node
- Chillin' wit all you homies in this thread
- Drinking beer
- Travelling the world and building up a library of first-order ambisonic ambient recordings

Being retired I find myself needing to justify myself every once in a while when I do absolutely nothing all day.

I'm retired bitches, do you know how many working days I have looked forward to waking up, doing absolutely nothing, taking a nap, getting up and doing absolutely nothing then going to sleep early at night? Some days I do that on principle. Because I can.

Sure I'll eventually get bored of that and do more productive things, but give me my moment here...

Congrats to you, too!
edit: Also Elwar, how could I forget you lol.

I'm sure it takes some time to get used to it but it's a great problem to have Grin. I'm not far away from being able to quit the worker ant life too. Can already feel the eery feeling of unreal that comes with it and it's great to see some fellow bitcoiners actually pull the trigger.  Smiley

Nothing wrong with doing nothing as long as it's not the only thing for years on end. I regularly save some time to do literally nothing for a few hours and sometimes a few days, occasionally including a silent fast. The latter is quite tedious, but it really turns up the enthusiasm about life up to a maximum, comparable to the sense of wonder that one usually experiences as a kid about every little thing.
