Fake news spreads faster and more easily than this virus, and is just as dangerous.

That’s why we’re also working with search and media companies like Facebook, Google, Pinterest, Tencent, Twitter, TikTok, YouTube and others to counter the spread of rumours and misinformation.

BSV only goes Satoshi's BitCoin and locks down protocol and dev fights.

Industry choses stable protocols

"Locks down protocol" after massive hardfork that left 75 nodes (23% of all nodes) permanently stranded, LOL. I bet BSV hard forks again within a year, but you'll be making excuses for it then, too.

Imagine 250 nodes (what remains) being responsible for keeping a $5 billion market cap afloat. Dogecoin (460 nodes) is laughing at you.

Industry choses stable protocols

"Industry" has completely bypassed Bitcoin Craig. Not a single use case outside of storing weather and preev data. I'm certain you don't use it. Frankly I don't understand what you're doing here except for trolling.

Google Trends is indicating that this is THE halvening pump and June was just a warm up. I see extremely little possibility we dont breach the 14k highs of the summer.
https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?geo=US&q=bitcoin%20halving
Most likely we get somewhere around the all time highs, hopefully a bit farther just to grab the worlds attention, even if we fall back under it after the halvening for a chunk of 2020.
Google interest is already just above the 2016 peak, and the last 2 years a lot more than the 2 years before 2016. People are interested, mainstream media need to fill there pages and there is plenty of content from the previous halving that they could copy-paste. Unless there is other news that simple to write about well in advance (like elections) this halving is not going to pass unnoticed.

Another important factor is that in June 2016, interest rates on savings accounts peaked at about 4.5% to 5%, and this halving you would be lucky to find an interest rate that is at least positive. People are looking for alternative ways to handle there savings.
Oh, and the annual supply of new bitcoins is also halved, from 3.67% to 1.8%, comparable to annual dollar and euro printing.
And bitcoin has been around for another 4 years. Teens and early 20's hardly remember a world without bitcoin.

I was always in the halving-is-probably-good-for-price camp, but just now thinking more about the current situation compared with 4 years ago, I'm starting to feel a lot more positive than usual.
As an example, back in 2018 I had scripts running that polled the bitstamp price JSON data and started an MP3 to wake me up in case of price dips at night (BTFD), have not done that for years but now any old app supports BTC alarms, and I just started enabling them.
I sold upto 20% to pay bills and debt every now and then, and bought back in the dips, still holding about the same number of BTC. Not many, but debt-free and a few BTC helps a lot in retiring a few years early.

Wuhan virology institute denies rumors
The Wuhan Institute of Virology has denied online rumors that one of its graduates was “patient zero” of the coronavirus outbreak. The institute has been the subject of numerous rumors and conspiracy theories since the outbreak began.
A statement (link in Chinese) from the institute said the student in question is healthy, has been working outside Hubei province, and has not gone back to Wuhan since graduation.
“Patient zero” refers to the first person to contract and spread a virus, beginning an epidemic. In the Covid-19 outbreak, patient zero remains unknown. An article published in British medical journal The Lancet studying the first batch of 41 patients in Wuhan said that the symptom onset date of the first patient identified was Dec. 1.
Lab researchers and medical experts around the world have also denied rumors that the virus was man-made or leaked by the lab. The Wuhan Institute of Virology is the only P4 level biosafety laboratory in China, the country’s highest level of biosecurity.

it all is still a win as all 'evolved' from a KNC Jupiter 550gh miner in 2013 that cost me

$5,131.80. It is not like 'any' money from my modest dev disabled deaf-blind job went into the BTC business for electric or whatever..so again, the risk to me is non-existent.

No matter how bad this all gets, I will always show a profit. It can be debated on IF I HODL too long or IF I SOLD too soon or any % thereof....but I can afford this modest risk.

yeah i know the feeling. a single ATI HD6870 video card is where my corn came from. all my btc was derived, in one for or another, from that one card.. which bought another card..

so my btc journeys admission price cost me $350ish USD iirc. still have the receipt and ive still got that card.

i need to gold plate its shroud or something.

Also, if you live long enough, the only currency in a Nursing Home is stories. You got a robe/toothbrush/shaver/slippers and rich as hell or not it is all the same.

The only currency is stories. Thus BTC works...great story....BTC dumps....sad story...rich as hell or poor as hell ..if you live long enough that is how it shakes out.

my brain is/will be so burnt i wont remember..

nurse: "so, what was early btc like?? you were there!!"

me: "what? sure, stop making fun of me. go away."

Buy Bitcoin

View Profile WWW
February 16, 2020, 02:44:50 PM

Looks like everybody here who properly invested in bitcoin before 2017 have around at least 50 and possibly closer to 100 btc while other late people who started to accumulate after 2017 have something between 5 and 15.

Makes sense since btc is now at x10 of the 2014's ATH.

Being early pays.

*pussies who stare at their monitors but never buy will never get close to these levels

If the latecomers play their cards right they'll have an opportunity to increase their btc stash by %200 - %500. All it takes is shorting the parabolic at the right time.

Wow.. I started investing in BTC on Oct 2017 and have been investing whatever I can on Bitcoin and am still struggling around 0.2 BTC.  This makes me wonder, how you calculated that if someone started accumulating BTC after 2017 they’ll be having something around 5-15 BTC. Maybe you are talking about the rich guys who are able to invest over 700$ every month 3 yrs back. Sadly, I don’t even earn 700$ a month Sad

I doubt that very many long term bitcoiners really agree with any of the pushes to make cash illegal.. or to discourage the use of cash.
Why not? We already have Petro, the Chinese almost ready to launch digital Yuan, the Japanese are brainstorming whether to have a digital yen and other Governments might also follow. Almost everything has gone digital now  Grin

Trying to buy btc with petro (or with digital yuans/yes/dollars/whatevers) might be an instructive experience. Actually, even just trying to store the tokens might make for good education. Your keys or not? Tongue

Yes but 2 Bitcoin better than 1 Bitcoin.
I'm getting way too nervous for my health, so I BTFD at $9870. First buy this year, and the highest price I ever payed.
For some reason I sleep fine when I'm holding BTC and the price tanks 50% but get very nervous about missing the train. Anyway, that's taken care of now.

2 Bitcoin is better than 1 bitcoin but not really much different.

To make a difference against 1 btc, you'll need at least 10.

$9300-$9700 seems like a very nice support range. I'm not expecting this to break, not at least in the short-term.
