Interestingly, it looks like gold has been tanking the last couple days too. So much for the safe havens.
China fleeing to cash? Seems self-destructive but I guess the shops don't take crypto for rice buns. bitcoin gasmasks still available in mongolia? :-D lets go shitcoins!!! reeeeeee

It's not sudden enough yet. Buying now just risks a bigger dip soon.

Not buying cause risks of a bigger DIP is the most dumb stupid to say when the intentions are buying anyway, what of the risk of a big PUMP and being left behind with a 100% of FIAT that you wish to invest.... Don’t talk stupid please, the DIP is nice to buy, or at least a part of the FIAT that you wish to invest.... Don’t always say everything different as it is, it’s annoying. The risk is on two sides, the blade cuts an both sides!

Right, it’s low enough now. Logging onto laptop to buy 0.5BTC.
... for my wage to arrive at my bank account later today. I am going to place a huge buying wall of 0.077 BTC at CB. This will stop the crash for sure! Bears, you have been warned! I told myself I’d always keep X amount of fiat in savings. I’ve spent 75% of my fiat savings on corn which included some inheritance from an Aunt in the last 18 months. So much for being sensible. Oops! Fiat savings are junk though, I’ll make way more probably in just 6 months from corn appreciating in value than I would in decades sitting in a UK bank. I've done almost exactly the same thing... But, as things turned out, leaving a good amount of money in fiat wasn't the wisest thing to do... Had I invested everything in Bitcoin back in 2015, I would now have multiplied it by a factor of at least x50. And I could still convert the original capital (or more) to fiat and keep the rest in Bitcoin. But playing with your life's savings like that is a risk, and going all-in isn't easy. Still, I can't complain. My 75% investment has paid off VERY nicely, and is expected to rise even more, perhaps an order of magnitude more that today's numbers. This was a wet dream 5 years ago, but now it's a possibility. I don't know if that's an optimal strategy, but I can tell you that I sleep really well at night.

I am not a trader, so I do not understand what needs to be done now and most of all I tend to buy long-term lines. .. and given the current price, this is a good investment channel for me, considering that (70% of the rest of my bitcoin was bought in the range of 4400 - 5300)

Just imagine finding a USB stick on the street, all crushed by passing cars, and taking it home, repairing it, and discovering that it contained the private key to thousands of BTC. Wet dream?
Has happened to me once (sans the BTC). Found the remains of a USB stick on the street (only the PCB had remained, and badly damaged). I tried to repair it, but couldn't. Could it have contained Satoshi's coins? No one will ever know.
I'm paranoid like that...
Paranoid people — at least those who think the issue through — don’t pick up random USB sticks found lying about. heh yeah that worked for stuxnet. of course badusb etc i never use flashdrives that have been in other systems. i just destroy them if returned. EDIT read only (ie finalized) cds are my friend. Open it in knopix or a vm fs what can happen exactly? Exactly. I always do this, and also use VM to test-drive apps before installing on my main (host) PC. No viruses, no malware, no corruptions, no problems! Edit: ...and always disable AutoRun after a Windows installation. Always do ... what? Always attach found USB to a computer running Knoppix from write-only media? Always attach found USB to a computer running a VM? Always attach found USB to a computer running Knoppix from write-only media within a VM? Great. What protects your BIOS/FW? What protects your hypervisor?

When I want to read a "dangerous" USB stick, I launch my "test VM" in VMware and mount it there. AutoRun is disabled on both the host and the guest OS. Never had any issues in 25 years of Windows computing. How can mounting a USB stick on an AutoRun-disabled VM affect your host's BIOS? Honest question, I want to know.

Blood on the streets. Panic. The Best of Times. This is where bull markets are born. HODLing like a champ Any reason we can conclude for the blood? I had set some price alert on coinbase and was a bit surprised to see the sudden move. Nevertheless, there's a good activity in coinbase within the last 24 hours. 69% buy / 31% sell Generally speaking, it's a good sign. Let's see what happen. I am a DCA follower but have some fiat ready to buy the dip.

Interesting..you have a crisis...a potential 'pandemic' thus BTC is used as a store of value in countries where such things would be much worse..you can't trust your government or your banks are corrupt or whatever, like say Venezuela. So now you have your crisis, the one that states 'bitcoin will be a store of value' but what you find is..don't want to take $$$ out of the bank (or hard or like Venezuela you have no cash in banks) So of all the assets, you have set aside like, gold/silver and US currency and Bitcoin which is the 'easiest to move' in a country like Venezuela for quick emergency cash? You could make the same argument for the USA..do I really want to call my broker to move $$$ out? Or wait for long-term on such? Say you are cash poor and 'iffy' on your finances if this goes on for a bit, as a result of a potential layoff or whatever or coronavirus fears...due to slowdown and stoppage of parts in China? But damn, I can dump BTC to 'refund' my (ashamed because empty) "emergency/catastrophe fund' in case any/all of above come to pass. Take this logic worldwide on the status of the current economic issues of all these worldwide and peoples likely reaction to such and it seems to humble a BTC/Crypto HODL'er indeed! So we have the 'twin' fun times of when the stock market crashes on fears of something like this ...discretionary $$$ move out of BTC/Crypto and we dump too. But like today, when the stock market pumps, BTC/Crypto also dumps as much or more. Great thing BTC as a store of value for trying times...until the trying times come...damn this is harsh... HODL I guess, but I'm also as 'cash strapped' as all the idiots above if this continues, so sh*t, this cluster could go on awhile if my 'dubious' above views are kinda correct. The only hope is this resolves itself and stabilizes and Bitcoin recoups as a store of value and being just temporary shakeup/crash in BTC/Crypto. Indeed I hope so! Brad

Btw last time we past Vegeta we went up pretty fast, remember Vegeta is an iconic character with some real dragon ball Z powers.... One that doesn't let himself to be taken easily... Never saw the episodes? The guy is extremely powerful, probably BTC will be the only one to truly defeat him, time will tell when.
Wait... what? Now, I never was much interested in Dragon Ball Z, but my kid used to watch it all the time, so I’ve been exposed. Accordingly, I may be laboring under a misconception. But... My understanding is that it is not Vegeta whose power is over 9000. Rather, Vegeta is describing the power of some other character. No?
