Well, FWIW, just placed a sell order for 60 BTC @ $17k. Time to start lining up my end-of-Q1 retirement plans...
you traitorous soon-to-be-retired faggot! FTFY. PS: Still will likely have more BTC than you after I'm done More likely twice as many as the vast majority of us (let's say vast majority is 90%)... I think safely assuming that the vast majority of us have less than 500BTC...

Good day gentlemen. I would like to bring your attention to this novel and innovative chart that has surely never been seen before on this forum: Do you think that, perhaps, it might have some relevance to our current situation?

Hey, Karma ?
It's me, BobLawblaw. That dude you've been pretty good to over the last decade or so.
I pulled my sell order. I'm sorry about that hubris.
Can we please not re-test $14,250 USD/BTC now ?
We good ?
Is the dip below $14000 your fault? Did you lose patience and decide to dump your coins instead of waiting for that sell order to get filled?

Can you explain to me what this new and innovative chart be all about? I'm just a newbie and this chart seems very impressive trade theory.

When bitcoin first appeared I imagined a world of peer to peer payments with no central institutions. LN is most definately not that.
The graphic tries to show how funding a channel is like funding a 'hot wallet'. A more accurate description is that funding a channel is like depositing money with a bank.
I always said LN will be supported by big money. No doubt there will be an epic pump, because 'scalability is solved'. I don't like it but I can profit from it. The original dream of bitcoin doesn't exist though.
Opsec, ease of use, familiarity and so on. There are masses of users who are not qualified to use bitcoin the way we do today. The lightning network will add a commercial element to bitcoin. And yes banks may end up forming and playing a part in these systems. But your grandad needs LN to help him transition in. decentralized and uncensorable does not exclude capitalists from trying to use the system to their own ends... in fact it welcomes it. But it allows cypherpunks to exist right along side. Think of the internet. You have a massive commercial and financial foothold, and then you have decentralized networks, projects like Firefox, WikiLeaks... Monero... There must be room for all.
