ETH is not a shitcoin by any means.

With no defined emission schedule, ETH isn't even a coin.

Because the people who are screaming that fees are too high are 99.99% primarily day traders or brokers,

Makes no sense. Would not day traders and brokers have all their funds on exchange? If so, high fees are no concern of theirs.

Gay cowboy finally pulls trigger. It's harder than it seems.

I feel like there's a joke in there somewhere...

I chortled...

Incidentally... congrats Bob - long as you didn't shoot your whole wad. XD

(by the way, I still would have Tera the beara and jbreher the picnic food eater to talk with.... hahahahahahaha... )

Alas, 'tis true. I don't believe that I have any regular WO participant on ignore. And for whatever attractive attributes JJG may have, he certainly possesses the flaw of being an interminable WO participant. Of course, I kinda drift off mid-JJG-post from time to time...

I don't give a ratt's ass.

Hmm. Ratt with two 't's'. Unrepentant '80's hair metal devotee?

maybe except for a full node on an ofline computer

Huh What most refer to as a 'full node' is a non-mining, fully-validating wallet. By definition, these must be online. Lest they be unable to validate.

What btc crash? It's still only down 30% from ATH. Have you ever seen a btc crash? This is nothing. This is only the preamble before the crash.

Why is the price going down?  Cry

Doesn't the entire world want BTC, the money of the future?

Money that you cannot spend, or transfer to a friend, or experiment with, or really do anything with except HODL and make memes about future lambos.

Lightning Network is coming any day now and then fees will be low and merchant adoption will sky rocket!

Except that LN doesn't even work in theory and even ignoring that it would still takes years to bootstrap an entirely new network because that's what LN is -- an independent network to bitcoin.

There will be a solution to the scaling issue. I don't think it's going to be lightning network OR a blocksize increase. It will be using a new algorithm and turning the chain into a tree/sharding. There will be something. I dont care if I have to code it myself. It's not like we're locked into this crappiness.

I think Hairy had it right the other day; it is a scaling arms race and NO ONE has it solved yet.

Yep.  It's not like we actually love each other.   We just tolerate.    Cool   So, right now, I am going to "tolerate" you by not saying anything further.   Tongue

So far as I can tell, hashgraphs are a fucking mess.  No one can explain to me how you defend against double spend attacks.  And no one can decently explain how they handle block size bloat without invoking pruning which means you either have a worse double spend attack or you are a Ripple.

The little that I can tell is that they're fine for private chains. Not sexy for public ones.

Are we crashing upwards again? This is confusing, isn't it?

A full month continually crashing and we are only a few thousands below ATH. Yeah.

Your passive aggressive sarcastic tone is very endearing.  I just bought some BCASH because of it.  Hey look. I can do it too... fun.

We are bottoming. If not this week, then next week.  I’ll eat my hat if we are still bumping $12k in late January.

Peter R:  take your shitty altcoin somewhere else.  Maybe the Ripple fools will buy it.

Well, let the big blockers try to scale to Visa on chain and be decentralized.  Cheesy I  can't wait until they hardfork Bitcoin Cash and get rid of the limit on block size. I'll back up my whole Itunes library on the Bitcoin Cash blockchain for pennies.  Grin

Anyone who invests in cryptocurrency knows that on any given day, the value of their investment could plummet. You’re up 10% one moment and down 15% just minutes later. Volatility often feels like a wild roller coaster ride and, unfortunately, there can be steep valleys referred to as FUD: fear, uncertainty and doubt. As soon as people see bad media coverage or a sudden downswing, panic selling can ensue out of fear that they’ll lose their money.

Which leads to the opposite phrase: BTFD or buy the f***ing dip. When people are scared, it’s the right time to buy. As the saying goes, buy low and sell high.
