Evidence to confirm Bitcoin's low correlation to other asset classes at least until the beginning of 2017:

https://www.signalplot.com/what-is-bitcoins-correlation-with-other-financial-assets/

I hope it does stay that way, too - the fresh money which will pour in on the next hike will largely be institutional.  For institutional capital, a lack of correlation is the real appeal. I have that from a Hedge fund manager (macro trader) I know who told me how they see things.  The institutional investment industry is watching, salivating and waiting for a safe way in, via ETFs etc. thinking: 'Wow a whole new asset class that doesn't correlate to play with!' For them, it's a unicorn.

OK, huge institutional money actually directly in the market is a double edged sword - however, I doubt crypto can build to the new heights largely on retail investors anymore.

All you know and love, The fundamental building blocks you are made of, are popping in and out of existence all the time. Can you imagine that? Sometimes you exist, sometimes you don't. In fact, the entire universe just popped into existence. It should have popped out again, but for some reason we don't know yet, there was an imbalance between matter and antimatter. Matter and antimatter should have canceled each other out. But here we are, living in a world that is expanding faster and faster. What happens when the expansion starts slowing down? Or stops? You are the universe observing itself and asking these questions.

OK I am freaking out. Gunna go clean the bathroom. When you guys drop acid do your fingertips get cold too?

What was before the universe popped into existence? Where did the matter and dark matter come from? Can there be life made of dark matter, where matter is the "mysterious" one? I doubt things are really over with us expanding into oblivion, where protons, neutrons and electrons never meet again, there might be just a new start, maybe in a totally different way. I also doubt that water only is the single source of life like mainstream science suggests, there might be endless possibilities. One thing is for sure, universe is full of life. Brain goes on fire thinking of that subject, guess it's too much to cope with.

The whole body seems to get a bit colder when dropping acid, that might be just due to overall rise in sensitivity. Good to know there are some other psychonauts around here Smiley

A while back, there was the idea being thrown around of a WO Vegas party to celebrate $100K.  Instead, we could all just meet up wearing our avatar hats and drop acid. What could go wrong?

The heads in this forum united together on acid? It might be even more revolutionary than Bitcoin itself. The hats would probably give an extra brain boost Cheesy

...and this one looks like a trip

The detail in the face doesn't show too well in the avatar version but I'll let you decide.

Thank you so very much sir!! Now I have to start collecting merits, though I don't see any life-changing posts coming from me Cheesy

Maybe you can zoom in on the eyes just a bit? Leave the eyes on the edges, so they would be a bit more visible. You're the designer, I'm sure you know what to do Smiley

Thanks again, sending my last merit on the way.

I don't incrementally backup as I create an image so making changes to an existing image means starting from scratch once I close the program.   I knew yours didn't look quite right so I still had the image open while I was working on mfort's hat in case I needed to make a change and my software crashed.   Angry
Long story short, this hat will be ever so slightly different but still has the same overall appearance.

A nice Saturday read: On Schelling points, network effects and Lindy: Inherent properties of communication by Willem Van Den Bergh https://link.medium.com/iyZDuYDAaR

That was a great read.  I don't agree with all of it, but the Schelling / Lindy effects when applied to protocols makes a lot of sense.  The only gripe is it's not strictly true that BTC is the only decentralised, open source unit of exchange / SOV crypto protocol.  But I can live with that.  Bitcoin blowing away the dollar?  We shall see... but this made it sound far more possible than I previously thought.

Thanks!

...If there is significant counter argument, I'd appreciate a link.
...but as you know even cooks[sic] get something right sometimes and i myself get everything wrong almost all the time.
fact. https://twitter.com/danheld/status/1047884852454862849

You're wasting your breath V8.

The fact that these shitcoin lovers want to chide Bitcoin for somehow having an unfair launch and subsequent distribution, when the majority of every shitcoin since has been at least 1000+ times worse (massive premining, insiders and devs getting massive first distributions off the books, etc.), is the height of hypocrisy.

I mean just look at Litecoin (one I consider a somewhat fair launch), with what...7-8+ million LTC sitting in the hands of like 1-2 chinese exchanges? And that's not even the worst shitcoin distro, not even close.

in antwerp just opened a CRYPTO HUIS (HOUSE) ..... still didn't visit the place, gonna try this week, but just when i opened the website one of the first things i was reading, all about we daytrade with your money and Guarantee 10% profits every month.
while it would be better if they (like my friend owning some kind of investment fund) would accept money for kind of long term hodling into a few coins, and taking a profit when its good to do .... (for people that don't have any knowledge but wanna be a part of it...).
i thought it would be some kind of consultancy place , for learning people how to start crypto, how to properly store, how to work safe.... something like that would be nice i guess, cause not all people can just go on the internet and start learning and be aware of scammers etc....
but just thought this crypto house was maybe a good place but looks like a SCAM thing  Undecided

Nice work on the hats! Can I get one too?

Maybe with a starburst pattern? I'll leave it to artist discretion.  Wink

Actually, I have to go and take a 5 hour "home alone" training course today... my wife is making me go!  I don't know how I survived this long without it.
