Makes no sense to me. You vote on a president or political party because it is the one that aligns most with your political view. You don’t vote on someone because it is the one that is likely going to win.

The last person I voted for got my vote because she liked driving miniature trains. Anyone who does that for a hobby is clearly qualified to meddle with my future.

Depends on the scale, anything smaller than H0 and I cant see any details, so they are disqualified.

I like Trump. Many people don't like him. But he won the previous election, no reason for him not to win this one now. The alternatives are worse.

Meritworthy, but out of merits unfortunately.

I guess there's no such thing as bad publicity, is there?

Bank of England governor-designate Andrew Bailey says: 'If you want to buy bitcoin, be prepared to lose all your money'

https://www.theblockcrypto.com/linked/57778/bank-of-england-governor-designate-if-you-want-to-buy-bitcoin-be-prepared-to-lose-all-your-money

Yeah because it worked out terrible for all of us didn’t it!

Cheesy

Nooo  Grin
He was meaning that if you invest all of your money into BTC, you have "lost" it.
But you have BTC, at the other hand. Which is not Fiat. So it's "lost".
Not a lie. Cleverly spoken.

It's not a pendulum, it's a cycle. It can't restart before it has either completed or a specific type of event happens that resets it. The "pendulum" does not simply stop at the halfway point and then go in the other direction.
It kind of does. It swings one way until it can't anymore, gradually slows down to zero, reverses its direction and repeats the same action but mirrored, then it resets and begins a new cycle.

It's the same thing, in some sense. If you project circular motion onto any straight line coplanar with the circle, you get harmonic (pendulum) motion.

Thanks. This was what i was trying to say by "looking at the circle sideways" before, but you explained it about 99% better  Grin

Being pedantic, not *quite* true.
With a small swing angle a pendulum closely approximates a sine wave, but this approximation gets worse with larger angles.

Pedantic? Nope.
It's the details that make many, often important differences.
Would that translate directly to the movement of a metronome, too?

TLDR: Its just the Flu x 4 bro, and its hella bullish bc money printers are in hysteria right now.

Nah,
just explain quickly why.

Talking about positive cases.
50% are asyntomatic or low symptoms, cure at home, quarantine.
50% need hospitalisation.
25% (50% of previous 50%) need intensive care.
more or less 3% of total infected eventually die (5% of previous intensive care patient).

Now, think what happens if the positive cases skyrocket to a certain number, let's say HALF of the number of people normally infected by a regular flu.

What is the supply of intensive care beds?
What happens when we will be at full capacity?

Mortality rate will rise. Also because people need intensive care also for other reasons than Coronavirus.

Also, hospital procedures are slowed donw by quarantine/extra security needed whil dealing for CoVid19 profilax.

This is the dangerous aspect of COVID19, not the mortality rate per se.

SOURCE:
It is already happening, here in Italy.

My theory is based on the assumption that you have way more undiagnosed cases, hence the lower true mortality rate.
Thats why Diamond Princess is the perfect sample.

We know every single person except 14 got tested.

No other sample is like this for any town, village or city.

Your gov, like most others, either cant or wont test everyone who needs it so the mortality rate seems much higher than it is bc you dont know about all the undiagnosed cases.

I suppose I could clarify that the .4 percent mortality Slayer estimate is assuming the patients get decent healthcare, this would be skewed higher in cases where not enough ICU beds are available. Thats why I mentioned the more communist or socialist a government is, the higher the mortality rates will likely be bc govs suck at everything, including running a healthcare system.

Look at the example inWashington State where six died in a nursing home. Yes that sucks for them, but they were in a nursing home and probably the weakest ones there, so they likely would have died sometime in the next 6 months to a year. This virus will likely take a bunch of people who were about to die in 2020 sometime anyway, and just take them out all at once.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but if you don’t have medical insurance in the US, the cost of a Coronavirus test is $3,200.

Poor people who can’t afford health insurance aren’t going to get tested in the USA.

I can imagine this to be changed if the number of possibly infected cases in the US is going through the roof.
Either this, or full quarantine for the whole country.

EDIT: Today all the missing parts for my 36watt UV-C Lamp arrived. I can disinfect my car, clothes, hair and skin (in emergency cases, because of cell damage through UV radiation) after coming home and disinfect my hands, even before i touch the handle of the front door of the house. Still, what bothers me the most is that four kids in this household can contract CoV every fucking schoolday and then the whole family is likely fucked. I hope they close down schools at the right time, not as late as in italy, for example. Trump is one thing, but in my country the politicians are even more naive and corrupt than him. Prone to fuck up.

Oh, yeah. And please, BTC... would you kindly break resistance and resume your way up while i sleep?
I wanna see some vegeta memes again...

Flu is different than a cold; they are separate viruses.  How high is the fever (if it's not too personal)?

What to Know About Treatment and Coverage

At this time, the CDC is the only facility equipped to test for COVID 19, or to designate other laboratories to do so. The CDC is not billing for testing for COVID 19, so patients will not incur costs when tested by the CDC.

Healthcare in italy is free for everyone (actually it is not free, it's prepaid via general taxation).
One of those times that make me understand how it's difficult to understand US citizen when we live in such different environment.

On a lighter note:

Do you remember my picture of emptied shelves?
It's now thing of the past.

Here a pic of my local supermarket store.
No one is around
Shelves stuffed as usual.

The girl told me: "They came and they raided us. Nothing happened, we resupplied and not now one is around because they have tons of food to eat."
Fillippone bought his pasta with no one around.

not sure how to protect against the flu! does this count too?

I've heard several times the poverty level face masks, self or factory made make almost no difference.   Cleaning hands two or three times as often over normal somehow might save you and I can believe that because people are picking it up then rubbing their face or whatever, nothing more complicated then what the average five year old does without thinking all day.  Ironically kids have some better chance, not sure how but a little positive to this all.

For educational purpose..

Raja and me comes from the same region, where we have no such thing called personal space etc. I appreciate your politeness but you can ask him or anyone from Indian Subcontinent (if you know them) directly without any filter.

I can imagine what his friend asking him about this flu... Bencho, jinda hai abhi tak? Sisterfucker, you are still alive? Grin

Ok - according to your link the test is free.  But it costs $3,200 to visit a doctor to get the free test. Am I reading that correctly?   And even if you are insured, it can still cost you $1,000.

Quote
Visits to the doctor’s office and the emergency room can cost patients money, she said, noting that some high-deductible insurance plans could effectively charge patients who go to the ER $1,000 or more.

Idiots. When it comes to the worst, most of the people will have to restock. Everybody seems to care to not get infected, but if they fail, we'll be fucked by the consequences of political decisions, typically not of the far sighted type. Only then will i touch my prepper food and toilet paper.
About the only things that i'm dependent on are mains power and some source of water (even rain will do).
For the very bad situations i have a DC/AC converter lying around, which is designed to work with car batteries. So solar power will do, as long as i can regulate the voltage down to 12V.
