Explanation
There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Recently U.S. Senator John Kennedy said on national TV: Banks are "really just sophisticated ponzi schemes." And what is the end of a ponzi then? A total collapse. Once the trust is gone nobody can do anything. Feds may hike interest rates and continue to print "money" indefinetely. But they know that this solves the trust and inflation issues as much as a spoon can scoop the ocean. So, the bankers and the feds are simply desperate. The plan to sell the bitcoins held by the feds is a clear indicator of their desperation. May be Jerome Powell said to himself: "I know printing trillions of usd is a bad thing, but may be several millions from the sell of Bitcoins will solve the crisis and stop the investors from withdrawing from the banks and buying Bitcoins." We are going to need more popcorn seeing banks falling like domino. People who don't understand this will keep their money in the bank, or sell Bitcoins, or hesitate to buy Bitcoins. In the end they will see their mistake but it will be too late.

Edit. 722 banks reported unrealised losses exceeding 50% of their capital - US FED

Argentina is trying to play on the side of the banks against bitcoin and The Central Bank of the Argentine Republic is banning apps from offering bitcoin to customers. In my opinion, it is too late to try to take such steps, people already know what bitcoin is, and against the backdrop of the failure of American banks, such a ban on bitcoins can only increase interest in them.

I got a letter today telling me the bad news.  Fuck.  They're offering 2 years of identity theft protection services but what good is that when my Social Insurance Number is forever?  I don't have much with Mackenzie but the first thing I do will be to move it out... I'm thinking Bitcoin.
Can you not change your social insurance number? I guess it would be a pain in the arse to change it everywhere, but I'd hope they'd have something in place to secure people who have had their data breached.

Nope it is a fucked up system.

Because I have been breach I think six times I pay 20$ a month for a monitor and for insurance if theft happens.

The cocksuckers that get breached never offer lifetime coverage at any monitor they give one or two or three year at most.

This year a hospital I had a hernia operation at was breached. Along with western digital website.

So my medical, my social, my address, my date of birth and 2 CC's are leaked.

I use Discovercard's service as it has $1,000,000 insurance cost is 15 or 20 a month.

Discover Identity Theft Protection

Resolution Support
Call 1-800-347-3089 if you suspect fraud.

You'll be assigned a dedicated specialist
Up to $1 Million of Identity Theft Insurance* to help cover certain out-of-pocket expenses.

Note all above is from Discover website.

I have been paying the 15 monthly ( I checked) for over 20 years.

I used Citibanks' but Switched to discover.    so 240 x 15 = 3600 +. this is my biggest CC cost as I never or almost never pay CC interest. I also get back 1000's in rebates yearly.

I didn't think I could but after reading your post, I looked into it and if I can prove it was stolen, I can change it!   I'm going to go to Service Canada first thing Monday with my letter and try.  Thanks for prompting me Smiley
