I'm mining with 12mhs
See your node "expected time to share".
Mining on CPU 12MH/s will give you about 2 or 3 days now...

I'm mining with 12mhs
How many shares of the required difficulty are you getting a day?
If my calculations are correct, 12Mh/s means 1 valid share each 5.5 days.

Do you mind explaining to a noob what formula you used to come up with that.

1200MH/s require ~ 1.3 hours to get a share. 12Mh/s means 100 times less, so it requires 100 times more time to get a share. That means 130 hours or 5.4 days.

My shares aren't accurate because there are strangers on my pool..

Local rate: 236MH/s (15% DOA) Expected time to share: 6.59 hours

Shares: 3 total (0 orphaned, 0 dead) Efficiency: 125.3%

Payout if a block were found NOW: 0.00285914 BTC to 1xxx. Expected after mining for 24 hours: 0.00855 BTC per block.

edit: Is there a way to check your how your miner is doing remotely(not at home)?

What is the definitive way to see when a non orphaned block has been generated by p2pool?

For example, a good innovation should be use monospaced fonts in all field containing hex or base58 numbers.

Done!

In the centove's template, put the following code anywhere between <head> and </head>

Code:
<style type="text/css">
#payout_addr, #payouts, #blocks{ font-family: monospace; }
</style>

A little more nuance, added share explorer values, and courier fonts (supposedly WebKit has issues with standard monospace).

Code:
#payout_addr, #best_share, #verified_heads, #heads, #verified_tails, #tails, #payouts>tr>td:first-child, #blocks>tr>td:nth-child(3){ font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace; }

I also wrapped my graphs in a container and wells (like p2pool.org) with centove's template. Looking good  Grin

I've finally bit the bullet and switched over from solo mining (litecoin)

I set my CGminer to p2pool.org:9327 along with the address in my litecoin client as my username.

Should I have also downloaded the p2pool program?

Anyway, does this all look normal? Been running for about 4 hours. Nothing showing in my wallet yet.

forrestv,

there still are problems with Avalons even using latest cgminer, it is not completely clear why, though.

See https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=140539.msg1918181#msg1918181

Thanks.

Erm.....No. Turn it off - you're just wasting electricity. If you can post your set up and settings here I'm sure someone can point you in the right direction, unfortunately I know nothing of Litecoin but many here do.
