there is no fool proof answer to this question. it is all speculation.
the risks are there but in my opinion price going down in long term has a  very small chance. but in short term because of some stuff that are going on can go down but i won't last long.

but there is another risk that people usually forget, when you are using bitcoin you are in charge of keeping your private keys (your wallet) safe. and if you fail to do that, you will lose your money. this risk is easily manageable though, since you can learn how to make a safe wallet (read about cold storage) and never worry about this risk.

Bitcoin investments are generally risky, and even if you have safeguards and factors that you look out for to somehow give you better chances of succeeding, it is still not sure that it would be probable for your to succeed 100%. There are so many factors and trends that affect the bitcoin market, which could affect how it will go that may spell its failure or success. Therefore, it's useless to know how much, what's important to know is what are the factors that can give you better chances of success.

Bitcoin investment definitely involves a lot of risk but we can just speculate how much. Bitcoin is a currency turned investment platform, but unlike a company in the stock market it do not posses a company profile for us to review. For me bitcoin's risk can be reduced by investing for the long term, if we can review its price history, we can see a 700% increase for the last seven years, such a monumental increase in just a small time. I believe that bitcoin will continue growing as more people begin to appreciate this new technology on how we purchase things.

I agree. Investin in bitcoins surely is something that is absolutely risky. And this is not just a case in bitcoin alone. This includes every singke crypto currency existing in the crypto world. Specially nowadays that most of the ICOs are scams or projects that only aim for profit than solving actual problems on the crypto world. For me, all investment has a risk but how much risk bitcoin has. We all know that bitcoin has an unstable price that you can control.
