Why Bitcoin Needs Washington to Go Mainstream - http://fortune.com/2017/06/01/bitcoin-price-drop-crash-cryptocurrency-mainstream/This article is actually quite "gentle" about consumer protection and regulations. Technology is always ahead of regulations. If Washington doesn't move faster, United States could be loosing its competitive edge to other countries like Switzerland and Singapore - that are much more "digital currency friendly."

Technology Experts Question Blockchain PromisesJustin OConnell on 03/06/2017 " One of the many promises of blockchain is its ability to fight against fraud and secure our globally connected systems. But not everyone is buying it. Two prominent security minds recently put their skepticism about the power of blockchain to digital print." Source: https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/technology-experts-question-power-of-blockchain/A dose of skepticism is healthy. Over promising is running wild in our industry but there are solid projects that are ideal with blockchain technology – particularly where time-stamped immutable transactions that can be verified by anyone worldwide are important. Of course, there are many more applications which we believe are of great value and significance.

Investing in Bitcoin and other digital currencies is certainly not for the faint of heart and no one will deny that it is speculative. Speculators will practically pay any price if they believe that they can turn around and sell them at higher prices. “ … a Speculative Asset with “No Intrinsic Value” may sound debatable but tough to defend. Some may be creating more fundamental value than others but most may not bother. Over the longer-term it pays to be able to differentiate. At DNotes we have been devoting a lot of resources to ensure that DNotes will have significant “Intrinsic Value” one day. Bitcoin a Speculative Asset with “No Intrinsic Value”, Says Business Insider FounderSamburaj Das on 30/05/2017 As bitcoin captures the world’s attention while soaring to unprecedented heights, the cryptocurrency has been labelled as an asset primed for a bubble, with no intrinsic value. Henry Blodget is the founder, CEO and editor of prominent financial news publication Business Insider stated: “ Look, this is a perfect asset for a speculative bubble…There is a finite supply. There is no intrinsic value. If anybody is persuading you that it should somehow be related to some GDP or gold…put down the Kool-Aid and back away.” Source: https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/bitcoin-speculative-asset-no-intrinsic-value-says-business-insider-founder/

How is DNotes different and what does that mean for the investor?

Fortunately, Dnotes' unique value proposition isn't based on speculation from a trading standpoint or on some noble hope that the marketplace will figure out how to use it to make a worthwhile contribution to mankind's progress. After all, hope is not a strategy. DNotes is unique in that the team that's brought it to life remains committed to building a dynamic ecosystem capable of bridging the gap between cutting-edge decentralized digital technology and the clunkier centralized financial systems that continue to leave billions of the world's citizens underserved or altogether ignored. I continue to believe that this digital currency is one that can help to transform the world and create solutions that help to empower ordinary citizens in almost every nation on the planet. It's that important, and the video series will hopefully help to flesh that out in a way that makes sense to not only crypto-enthusiasts but crypto-neophytes who may be trying to understand why any of this matters. With that said, I'd offer my own humble opinion about some content that I'd like to see explored in greater depth in a future video: paint a picture of what the world could look like for average consumers, businesses, and those who are underserved by the banking world once the DNotes strategy is implemented on a broader scale. Technical analysis and feature explanations are important for early and future stakeholders, but less crypto-savvy individuals will need the dots connected for them before they understand how it can eventually benefit them in their everyday lives.* Hope might not be a strategy, but the DNotes strategic vision is one that can inspire hope. *I apologize in advance if that sort of video was already produced and I somehow missed the link. Been suffering from a touch of bronchitis, so it's entirely possible that it escaped my notice.

"...value proposition isn't based on speculation from a trading standpoint or on some noble hope that the marketplace will figure out how to use it to make a worthwhile contribution to mankind's progress." - I can't believe not only how prevalent this attitude still is, but how much worse it is over the last few years! In may be the threads I happen to check out in Bitcointalk, or the 'to the moon' headlines staring at me every day, but the word investing is now being used for day trading, and long-term investing is being used in place of what is really short term savings/trading/investing moves of 30 days to one year (the one-year 'long term horizon' investor is very rare). The 'let them come to us' comments and attitude is everywhere. "DNotes... ...bridging the gap between cutting-edge decentralized digital technology and the clunkier centralized financial systems that continue to leave billions of the world's citizens underserved or altogether ignored." "...paint a picture of what the world could look like for average consumers, businesses, and those who are underserved by the banking world once the DNotes strategy is implemented on a broader scale. I could have just highlighted the whole post - lol. Hope you're feeling better!

Been suffering from a touch of bronchitis, so it's entirely possible that it escaped my notice. Thank you DCEBrief. It's incredibly important that we simplify the video content as much as possible so that people unfamiliar with crypto can have the dots connected for them. One of the problems in our industry is that when people make content, they relate ideas together that are not obvious to the laymen - requiring some level of background knowledge to make the connection between the concepts. I'm satisfied with the effort in this video - it provides a good base to launch further from. The next releases I contribute to will be more structured / planned I think. And make sure that all ideas contain an explanation for crypto-savvy, while breaking it down for those less familiar. I will also consider doing the segments individually in different videos so to respect our more knowledgeable industry peers. You have been writing some great content at DCEBrief, perhaps I'll send the proposed structures, or a practice video by you for comment.

I absolutely love this - one of the quotes I have adopted is:
"Hope is the currency of losers"
Because winners make things happen - to hope is not enough. We are not hoping for any outcome, we are instead making it happen through positioning ourselves the best way possible through many angles. Everything needs to grow in tandem, and no lagging part may exist, to make the most of this unprecedented opportunity.
I'm sure everybody has heard:
"Patience is a virtue,"
Just watch.
