What do you guys mine now-adays?
I check What to mine a few times each day and manually switch if the coin or algo I've been on hasn't kept pace. Last night , I switched my AMD and nVidia rigs from mining ETH and ZEC respectively to NiceHash Cryptonight. They've been on there for 24 hrs. Cryptonite on NH is profitable, with even less power consumption - that's additional bonus. However, in preparation of BTG mining, all of my NVIDIA rigs are currently ZEC on NH. And I am still tweaking the AMD farm to squeeze the best optimized equihash for BTG. BTG mining has started on the Testnet... futures pricing for BTG is around 120$ per coin. yeah same here my body is ready for BTG, it could save 2017 for me if its at least twice as profitable as eth mining as well, plus another nice algo to mine sends a big Fu to the eth devs and their 5-3 reward scam. Only problem is if the eth hash rates drop far enough it gets profitable again and they get to keep their code secure. I suspect AMD is still going to be more efficent dual mining eth/lbr than mining BTCG since alot of Nvidia rigs that are doing Eth is turn to BTG only thing I'm doing with my AMD rigs is setting them up with the nicehash miner for now so if profits are good on Eqihash for AMD I can at least mine via nicehash.

Man thats a dream board but $228 with no samples out in the wild tested I'll pass I just spent 3k on 2 more baikal X10s via wire transfer so Im tapped out for a while My China contact say, the board is sold out everywhere in China/HK. Btw, once you get the X10, share us the review on the Skein algo. Baikal did work with me previously on the early X series but it was too expensive coming into a saturated X11 mining. The Myriad-GRS and Skein algo addition will be a key differentiator ... one X10 is probably equal to 100 x 1080tis on Skein algo !

There's a cpu 4 pin near the top of the mobo. Are there any 8pin pcie to 4 pin cpu converters out there? Couldn't find any on aliexpress. I think even at $228 it's pretty good value. We are saving on a pico psu ($30) and 8 risers ($40). A 8 slot biostar mobo with these combined is close to $200 too. Not to mention the space savings and extra reliability. All you need is PICO kit 4pin to power the CPU - it works, all my server powered rigs uses only 4pin out of the usual ATX 8pins. I am assuming that this 4pin is enough for standard LGA1151 CPUs Where on the 8 pin are you plugging the 4 pin in? (If that makes sense)

(If that makes sense) Okay The eight pin 0000 0000 00 00 00 00 Do the left side or the right side. Make sure you match the clip on the four pin to the clip on the eight pin. If you go this route you can not mine with the CPU . Frankly I think every one of the boards is flawed just a bit. I like the six card onda and the 8+4 card onda They use three sata and three molex. The eight+four m12 is nice use your own cpu drop in a larger ram stick and running 1000 watts say 8 x 1070s I am impressed so far. But flaws are it needs an atx. And if you want to run 8 x 1070 you need a solid psu. The other boards using all pcie in have some spacing issues. Or fixed cpu issues or really costly. I ordered a Chinese knock psu that is designed to run the m12 miner. I will demo it when I get it.

The only thing you have to worry about is using old pico's that are 140-160w on newer hardware. Some CPU's/Mobo's will require 200-250w pico's to function properly.

Still enough to kill GPU mining on Skein pretty quick if Baikal ships enough of these things.

Is there an ETA on mining start for BTG?
I'm having problems with EWBF on my nvidia rig all of a sudden. One of my GPUs shows lower speed than the others, and keeps gradually decreasing until the miner/rig finally crashes. No idea what causes it, I can mine Zcoin (Lyra2z) rock stable for weeks... :/

LOL... 100x was just a figure of speech - but then again at 120watts=5GHs -- that's amazing hash power vs 1080ti Anyways, Baikal has been pestering me to try X series out a few months ago .... The offer is off the table now since X10 has some serious demand esp for the new algos Myriad-Grs and Skein (shipping mid-Dec) Anyways, just to give a shoutout to Baikal - good products and low power consumption. Good support tech team too. We have a lot of Baikals in our X11 farm -- we had over 50GHs during the X11 boom (2016-17) -- ROIed many times over. Baikal entered the big Asics market at the right timing there well ahead of Bitmain, Innosilicon and iBelink. A 900MHs Giant can fetch 3x-4x price earlier this year - but we didnt sell. With X11 basically dead meat now - I was contemplating to shut them down but we decided to just put them to Prohashing and get paid in any coins we want -- of late VTC was flavor of the month otherwise it stays in DASH Solo pool as their backup pool.

sound like a GPU issue - but then again ZEC's diff level has increased too... hmmm.... that doesnt make sense - LOL.. BTG mining started about 2 days ago on their testnet. I think as soon as the replay protection is completed - they will start mining. I see BTG futures at Exchanges this morning at 100+ but this afternoon 200+ --- swings are wild. Anyways, get ready your NIVIDIA rigs guys, the first bird will catch more worms...

Yeah f*** me I know many things don't make sense when it comes to mining.
Happy to jump on the BTG bandwagon. Just need to fix that bloody EWBF bug.
Oh and I need to swap another PSU. It's the third EVGA 750GQ that craps out on me in the space of 6 months. Lousy, lousy piece of engineering from EVGA.

I purchased this on ebay https://www.ebay.com/itm/Deep-In-The-Mines-2600w-ATX-Power-Supply-180v-240v-ETH-ZEC-mining-S7-S9-12-GPU/401396653730?I have an ebay ebucks offer for 8% I made an offer for 210 so 210-16 = 194 I paid with paypal 2% off so 194 - 4 = 190 net In theory I can now run as much as 8x 1080 ti's set to 200 watts each! The real name atx psu's that allow big power would be Evga 1600 g2 Evga 1600 p2 Evga 1600 t2 corsair ax1500ti these cost $$$ like 360 to 430 usd So since this psu is in the states and the seller is a forum member I am going to test it here. I will try slot 1 >>>> zotac 1080ti mini at 150 watts slot 2 >>>> msi 1080ti seahawk at 175 watts slot 3 >>>> evga 1080ti hybrid at 175 watts slot 4 >>>> evga 1070ti hybrid at 125 watts slot 5 >>>> evga 1070ti hybrid at 125 watts slot 6 >>>> msi 1070 seahawk at 120 watts slot 7 >>>> msi 1070 seahawk at 120 watts slot 8 >>>> evga 1070 hybrid at 120 watts that is 1110 watts add 40 for rest of system 1150 maybe 1200 watts should push 4400 sols now if btc-gold is good maybe timing will work out well

EVGAs are pretty good PSUs - very durable and it has 10 year warranty - you should get it RMA. Almost all of my PSU for all newer rigs uses server PSU -- esp the infamous Delta 2400w with standard PICO kits.

I've RMA'd two already. This will be the third. This time I'm going to try to ask them to send me another model back. I'm putting 600W load onto them. It's within spec. They should really not die within a few months. I believe they probably use better quality components on the higher-range of their PSUs... but then they shouldn't advertise the GQ series as being "gold" efficiency (if they're only going to be "golden" for a few months that is - they are pretty dark brown in my book).

okay what is best link for btc gold?
Just finished my testing with btcg.miningspeed.com POOL. Tested the other pools listed in btcg website - https://bitcoingold.org/ .... but settled for this pool Planning to throw everything to BTG with AMD and NVIDIA (around 38 rigs = 70k/sols). The AMDs 470,480 are poor Equihash performers but better something than nothing. The NVIDIAs are very good Equihash performers - too bad the NVIDIAs are only about 40% of the total rigs. All on smOS Linux. EWBF/NVDIA
--server btcg.miningspeed.com --user mxvc3oiidWytyQ2XoSrzT7GpPjUeC1guNt.$RigName --pass x --port 3092 Optiminer v1.7/AMD-s btcg.miningspeed.com:3092 -u mxvc3oiidWytyQ2XoSrzT7GpPjUeC1guNt.$RigName -p x Notes: 1. The BTG address used here are samples given by Pool for testnet. 2. Tested 1 x GPU for AMD and another 1 x GPU for NVIDIA 3. There is another batch of 30 rigs (Nanos and R9-390s)... but will remain put because my other members don't support BTG
